I take it there's no archive of this program to which one can listen? I totally missed it live...

There is John. Go to EA Sportsworld and click on the bottom right to see about downloading podcasts. Yeah, you have to download Apple iTunes if you don't already have it and then you can listen to the shows. Took me almost 30 minutes to get all the software and download but I'm listening to the broadcast right now. If there is anything really juicy I'll post it here later.

Thanks Fred... I'm on my way to grab it now. My daughter has an i-Pod, so we have Apple iTunes installed on my living room PC.

Guys make sure you also download the 3/19/09 podcast which also features an interview with Mike DeVault of the TW team. In fact, this one has some really exciting discussion that should get your golf juices flowing.

Interesting thoughts you posted over at the club distance blog Fred regarding the hybrid clubs. As you probably know by our hundreds of games together over at the Country Club, I don't tend to load up on the wedges like many others. I much prefer being 160 - 250 yards back from the flag where I know I can control the spin. I think hybrids would be an excellent addition in the future as they are more commonly used these days and are very forgiving. There has always been a big selection of woods to choose from but I dont normally see players or even pros using 6 or 7 woods so you may have a good idea there bud.
I just had a listen to the podcast you were advising we listen to Fred and I must say Mike sounds as if he is struggling just as much as you when it comes to the revealing of further improvements and additions to the series. It's really finally sounding like putting will finally be a worthy challenge on Tour Pro. Interesting listen bud, thanks for the heads up.

These tuned distances will overall significantly decrease the amount of par 4's youll be able to drive in 1. It'll mean instead of driving them youll be trying to hole them out with a flop or pitch.
Meanwhile on other par 4s it will make it slightly tougher to actually hole them out as youll have to use a high iron to get it close like a 8 or 9 iron i think.
They still may be slightly too long though but we'll have to wait and see.....

The distances may be slightly to long but not by much. I'm looking forward to seeing how difficult it will actually be to hit these maximum distances and be accurate to within the foot. I'm hoping that the reward for skill will be the ability to hit the maximum distance accurately.

Ok, so the real key will be whether there truly is a sacrifice for accuracy should you try to tune to 100% power. I never went past 94-96% power in TW because of the loss of accuracy so I'm considering TW10 distances based on that % and hoping that I won't be able to tune power even that high for more realistic distances.
But let's say nothing has changed on the sensitivity for TW10 for a second and consider what EA could still do to give us those realistic distances many of us desire...
I'm guessing the Powercap password (or something similar) will still be a part of the game.
What if EA added a powercap lobby? Say we find PC8 to be the most realistic distance option, they could easily set up server side a special lobby for those who want to play that way. The downside of course would be the strays who will still join the lobby and then complain/quit games.
Or what if they had a powercap option in game settings (like choosing greenspeed, pins, course, etc) so we wouldn't have to type in a passcode every time we booted up or wanted to change that option. Downside here is again those who unwittingly enter a powercapped match and complain/quit.
Finally, at the bare minimum we could at least get an occasional daily tournament with a powercap setting below 12 to mix things up for us.
While club distances are important, my personal issues with shotmaking are that 1.) they are far too accurate compared to the pros, (bring back the TW07 spray circle) 2.) Ball flight and roll physics are off (1 iron punch, for example), and 3.) no real penalty for being in the rough/sand...you can still spin/loft those shots, shouldn't be able to flop out of the sand, % lies should be widened, etc.
