If MotionPlus is as good as advertised then I may be done with tennis games on my 360.

I'm very positive to MotionPlus. I just hope that they "get it right" on the first attempt. The potential at least is very good. It's been said that with MP, the timing of the shot is not the only factor that decides in which direction you hit the ball. I interpet this to mean that you for instance can bend your wrist to give the shot an angle. I just hope that this is actually true.

MP is supposed to give you 1:1 motion of the racket, so when I'm at the net, I assume that I don't actually have to swing at the ball. It should be enough to just lift the racket and let the ball hit it.

I'm building up huge expectations for this game, so I'm beginning to fear that I'm also setting myself up for a huge disappointment.

The PS3 and 360 may have their own version of MotionPlus before long.

Here's what I said about a potential solution in http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/165/88408.page#2154749...
Yeah, I guess you're right.

http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-10135660-1.html .

And they're saying...
The first incarnation will be available in December for PC gaming. It will be backward compatible with a number of popular gaming titles, such as Crysis, Call of Duty 4, and the Madden and NBA Live series.

Big game makers have already had the TrueMotion development kit for a year. By the time the PC gaming version is released, they will have had two years to play around with it.

And although it's not announcing anything yet, Sixense says it is in talks with all three console makers--Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo--about licensing its technology. TrueMotion for console games won't be available until 2010 at the earliest.

So it'll probably be available for the PS3 and 360 in time for Grand Slam Tennis 2, or Grand Slam Tennis Set 2, or Grand Slam Tennis Second Set or whatever EA is going to call it.

Sweet.

EDIT: And here's a link to http://www.sixense.com/ "website" for those interested.

And here's a http://engineeringtv.com/blogs/vendor-submitted/archive/2009/02/01/sixense-truemotion-control-system.aspx showing how TrueMotion works with Spore, Call of Duty 4, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 and NBA Live 08.

So yeah, like I was saying, we'll probably have something by 2010 or 2011 for the PS3 and 360; right in time for the next Grand Slam Tennis.

As for MotionPlus for the Wii: yeah, it sounds like it's going to be really great.

I would be stoked for Wii motion plus, it would bring even more fun to the game let alone a bit more of a challenge.

How come Tiger Woods gets the Wii MotionPlus bundle in North America, but Grand Slam Tennis does not?

I confess, I'm not overly excited about the Grand Slam Tennis when I think of Woods 2010. But thinking of bundles, I would think an $85 or $90 bundle of Tennis / Woods / MotionPlus would fit the bill. It gives guys like me an option of spending an extra $30 to get Grand Slam Tennis that I wouldn't pay $50 for. Just sharing my $0.02.

After watching that video I am convinced I must get this game. M+ seems to make the game much more complex. I really hope that people aren't turned off by the graphics, but instead are convinced by the innovation of M+, and what looks like cool gameplay.

I believe this game will have a long shelf life because with motion plus no two match will be the same. I assume I won't get bored with the game, but instead may get frustrated with myself. Which sadly I believe is better than being frustrated with a piece of electronic equipment.

finally, sports games that I can enjoy! (I hope)

Too bad you need to buy the M+ accessories to get more than one person playing with M+

Have to look into Tiger Woods game also. (I see Epic, but fun, failure)
