I dropped back from skill over 800 to 660 because I played -10 at a Pro Level tournament. Now in my opinion -10 is a very good score for any real golfer on the PGA Tour. Now I am allowed to play the Amateur Tournament again. This should not happen. Sink the skill level back to 800, ok, but once you are a level higher, you should need to hit continuous bad rounds to drop back to the lower level.

You should not allow people to chip or hit full swings on the greens. A chip or pitch from one end of the green to the other is much more easy to play than a 50+ foot putt. R&A rules don't allow chiping on the green, so why should it be allowed in this game?

There is nothing in the Rules of Golf which requires a player to use his putter when the ball lies on the green.

Greg How about a hardcore division! I for one would be willing to test a harder 3- click or True Swing today or even after launch, just as long as we do get to test something somewhere down the road!

If you Devs take some of these suggestions and turn them into workable controls I would be more than happy to test them and I'm sure it wouldn't just be me

However the total number of skill points needed to max out your golfer is 150. So you have to make tough decisions about where you place all of your skills, rather than sitting down for a weekend, playing the stuff out of the game, and earning enough cash to max out everything. You simply should never have the ability to max out all characteristics, either through bought skills our bought pro shop items. The ability to max out your golfer has been the single greatest and most obvious flaw in TW and has yet to be addressed even in the slightest.

1) Agree 100%

2) I disagree. If the gameplay is like TW08 when you select a character with Pro attributes at 75%, that is the same thing as a maxed out golfer here, but they do need to scale the attributes down to 75% and make those attributes tally up to 100% instead of 75%. Users will get confused with 75% and wonder why they can't get 100%.

simple..get rid of the aiming device....the one we had at links 2003 was useless anyway...don't allow aiming device in tournaments...allow them only in single play..that way you can practice in single play..and figure out where to putt the ball...

If you are referring to zoom to target then I agree with you. You can still aim from the golfer's position since you also have the hole map to view the hazards on the hole.

Again, I would like to see all the "helps" removed on Tour Pro Tournaments including grids (provided there are more camera views available).

Putt preview is the key....(I said aiming device in my first response) I meant putt preview..In my opinion; everything else is great...leave it the way it is. Putt preview should be available; except in tournaments. If you make the game to hard to play? You will lose a lot of senior citizens..who don't have the patience nor the desire to be "king of the hill".
I am a senior citizen and enjoy the pro tournament, However, I don't play the tour tournament. At my age, I'm not interested in testing myself against others, but i do enjoy the realistic atmosphere of playing Pebble Beach..(and I have played the real one)

Agree totally Bob.
You should give Tour Pro a try not that much difference. They just turn up the wind a bit.

All the folks who say "do away with this or that" should ask themselves if there might not be other players who LIKE "this," "that," or, in fact, both.

I think the best way to make the game more difficult without losing players is to make many more of the aids OPTIONAL for single and multi-player, incrementally reduce available aids for Pro and Tour Pro tournaments, and ADD an "Expert" or "Champion" tournament level will all aids removed, variable wind, smaller sweet spot, and other diffilcuities as voted on by the purest of the pure.

Oh, and let groups set up their own tournaments so like-minded players can play their favorite way without destroying someone else's fun.

I agree that all these arcade features that some of us don't like have a place in the game and we need the option to turn them off and turning them off will increase the difficulty. A lot of us who have been playing online for awhile have joined different communities that will play at settings that we enjoy playing at as a group. So my suggestion is to allow groups to set up there own tournaments with their own settings, their own handicap system if they choose. Some of the online communities have a reputation built on playing the toughest settings every week, and some allow for varying degrees of difficulty built around running a variety of tournaments for different skill levels. The groups would determine what aids would be turned off/on for what tournaments. I know this gets away from the career progression idea but career progression and playing in groups with a player of equal abilities should be an option. I think those of us who have been playing online for years will prefer to play at setting as close to realistic as possible and this would allow us to do so but eliminating the arcade like features all together will take away the mass of players the game seems to be targeted for. We need the ability to choose to play in career mode, or a group tournament with players of equal attributes.

Put me in the "ability to toggle options on /off" category. While I surely have my preferences, I see no reason to impose them on all other players. ALso agree that multiple tournments shodul be provided with well defined 'toggled' settings, plus teh ability to user create tourneys instead of just a multi-plyer (4 max) game woudl go a long way in pleasing a majority of users (I think ).

Second Point: Is there any way or place that has listed what is actively being considered by EA from the comments that have been made ? BAsically looking for more detailed info than "workign on the skill rating"

I think the game should get more difficult as the player's average score goes down. The ways this could be accomplished could be making less margin for error on the trueswing, no putting aids, no grid on the green etc

Personally I think the 3-Click swing should be either removed or made trickier as it seems far easier than the trueswing version...

Here, here , Kevin

This , or course, assumes the ability to make custom courses ( 'cause a whole lotta veterans will probably disappear without them.......... but that's another thread).

Just a couple of ideas I have had concerning making TWO more of a challenge:

First the wind, needs to be a bit more consistent on the whole round of golf. That is as you move from hole to hole the wind should be moving across all the course and have quiet pockets, maybe some small vortexes (nothing severe) enough to affect the flight of the ball. The wind should not be a steady force but dynamic as it is in the real world, rising a couple of mph and falling, even some really calm periods. If you play prevailing winds are from your back, next fairway head winds, next hole blowing across the fairway.

Secondly the rough, instead of making the severe yardage penalty make the yardage penalty less, however make the rough play as it does in real life. The club hangs on a bit of vegetation and twists enough to change the direction and or trajectory. It should not always result in a 45-60% reduction of yardage. In real life the rough is not as even as it is depicted in this game.

I do have a problem with the way the ball is determined to be in the rough. Often I have had the ball roll up just at the edge of the rough, plainly sitting on the fairway (or occasionally on the green) and it is determined by the programming to be in the rough. This should not be assessed with the same penalty as being 6 or more feet off the fairway, but more of a fairway shot. Perhaps having a buffer of somewhat lighter rough since the collision detection is less than perfect.

Thirdly the swing, we could have an all inclusive swing for all shots, do away with the special flop, pitch, chip and punch. Just swing l lesser amount for full to make these shots with the forward/back spin control making up for the different variations. I'm not too happy with the pitch and chip shot. I've not tried the flop as yet. The punch shot was alright in previous betas, but I haven't tried that shot in the current beta. In short you would only have 2 or at most 3 shots to improve your skills with, The full swing and the putt, with the possibility of the punch.

Just my thoughts on how to make the game more of a challenge.

First thanks for being invited to all the betas so far. Hope i keep being invited.

Please do NOT get rid of putt preview UNLESS the grid is better for actually discovering the slope left right up down and undulations.

You might also make the greens less dramatically undulated and less elevation changing is you remove preview.

Regards the 3 click speed. Making it too fast could ruin the game even for experts. At too high a speed it becomes terribly tense and unlike playing golf. Perhaps you could make the range at the bottom narrower but the degree of hook or slice less dramatically severe, more of a range.

I would also love to see a way to put spin on the ball without losing flight length!!!

thanks!!!!! the game is dramatically improved, well done i say.
