it don't lock on as in lock fully, it's more a general thing where you have to fine tune the aiming a little bit yourself, but it gets you in the general area

Yea aim assist is not that pronounced. It isnt like it makes your RPG's lock on, your bullets dont all hit, but yes it does tend to "drift" your aim towards an enemy. I actually prefer it off, If an enemy runs out a door that i am standing right next to, it will pull my aim wherever he is running, and if he has a freind behind him, I cant swing back to the door fast enough after the aim assist follows him.

When the enemy is close enough the aim will automatically stick towards him

Yea, and it is annyoing.
I would just say, turn it off for a few games, see how you play. Dont just get mad if it dont work, give it a fair chance. Then decide.

I have read the threads about this, tried to turn it on and off and I am quite sure that it has no effect whatsoever on multiplayer. (And who cares about single player, it's just like a long tutorial anyway.)

Back to basics. |

It definitely has an effect, sometimes helpful but i think mostly not. more often than not it actually messed me up. it does follow enemies, and this really sucks when it't a group of them, I flanked a group of 3 and started nailing them but as they moved around the gun kept jumping from one to the other, so i ended up with 3 kill assists instead. another time I was sniping and as I was about to shoot, a guy runs left, the gun follows, then a guy runs right across his path and then it follows him, WTH, they all got away because the stupid thing kept following this guy, then that guy. and it also leads the gun for you, but not accurately, so when you try to lead it's all willy nilly. However, other than on those occassions I haven't noticed much of a difference. I was undecided on wether to use it, but I think I am going to leave it off since I don't think it's helped as much as it's hurt.
