I'm an avid fan of the NCAA franchise, but here are some things I would like to see. For one, time change during the game. In 09, the lighting in the stadium never changes. When a game begins at 3:30, the sun should be lower and the stadium darker by the time the game ends. Same as for a 6pm kickoff, but in 09 it stays the same throughout the game. The second are the uniforms. All teams should have their alternate uniforms. This used to be a norm for the ps2 versions, but not it's a so called new addition to the game on ps3, come on! The third would be more pregame festivities. This might be a bit much, but their is so much tradition in college football to pass it up. For example, before a game in M ichigan, show the wolverines running under the go blue banner or at Tennessee, show them running through the T. Each stadium and team have a tradition, why not add it. That's all I got

NCAA Football use to be the creme de la creme of sports games (I even preferred playing it more than madden). However, there are some things that for 2010 version on PS3, would make this game GREAT!!!! Here's my wish list for 2010. (Especially for Dynasty mode)

1. Make sure the players actually LOOK like they're running instead of stutter stepping.
2. Can I get GAMEBREAKS of other games??? Been asking for this for years! They had it like back in 92 version or something.
3. BRING BACK I-AA AND OTHER DIVISION SCHOOLS!!!!
4. Definitely should have it where teams are coming out of their tunnels or running on to the field.
5. Also, in addition to #5, what happened to the pregame commentary where while the team practice on the field, the commentators told which player to be aware of??? Please bring this back!
6. What about halftime booth commentary?? or Pregame booth commentary???
7. BRING BACK THE ABILITY TO CHANGE YOUR CONTROLS!!!! Can't stand being stuck with only a few options!
8. Fix the glitches!!!
9. Get rid of the MASCOT games and all that other non- sense (Horseshoe, etc).
10. Better heisman presentations!!!
11. In game scores of other games?!? BRING BACK!
12. Bring back realistic catches, dives, tackles, interceptions, etc! Is it me or does it seem like it gets worse every year?!?
13. Should definitely be able to run into refs, coaches, cheerleaders, walls, etc!
14. BRING BACK "IF IT'S IN THE GAME, IT'S IN THE GAME" interviews of real live people when the game boots up.

I'm sure i have more, but that's all i can think of right now.

My 2 Sense,

Avid NCAA Football

I remember you guys used to have a team discipline feature for dynasty. I loved this feature. If someone were to act out or break a team rule or even be arrested on my dynasty team, he was promptly booted off. I prided myself in having a team discipline meter that was off the charts. I loved how unruly teams would lose scholarships.

Please PLease PLEASE bring this back!!!

When will easports give us the option to end our dynasty/season with a playoff ?

i remember having that option around 1999-2000 or so but why take it away from us ? until the teams can actually settle it that way, why not let us do it in a videogame ? 16 teams tourney to end the season ? 8 team tourney ? that would be incredible

Depth charts need some work:

-When I change the style of defense I run (in dynasty) the depth chart should change to reflect that. I like to use smaller schools and run a 4-2-5 defense. In this defense I use a:
Strong LB, Weak LB, Strong S and Weak S. The depth chart only allows me three spots for strong safeties, not enough for me to bring in the second team. And I only keep 4 or 5 line backers on the team, with 3 allocated as "starters" that only leaves me one when i go to the second team.

-I would like to have a deeper depth chart 4 QBs, 5 HB, 8 or 9 WR, 5 or 6 SS, and weak and strong LBs not right and left.

-It is hard to get young player experience with out going to the second string (this makes it hard to keep playtime promises). I should have the option to allocate play time. This is how I would design the interface to allow this option:
--Next to players in the depth chart would be a precent play time. If I want the best player to be in as much as possible I would give him 100% play time (this would be the default). If I have 2 good HBs and a freshmen I would like to give some time to I would set the allocation to 60%, 30%, 10%. The computer would rotate them such that at the end of the game the players saw close to the number of snaps they should have.

-Finally having all the scholarships that the NCAA allows (85 I think) would be awesome!

In dynasty mode it is not rotating the conference schedules. every two years I should switch which teams from the other division. also the computer teams keep playing the same teams in their non-conference schedule, the big schools play home and away with each other, but they don't play the same school (outside of rivals) for four years in a row.

Please bring "Create a School" back!!!!!! I used this option like crazy and was extremely mad to find it not there anymore. Also add as many features to this option as possible. Also, bring back the 1-AA teams! The generic teams are very stupid.

I laid this one out there in another thread, but I'll throw it on here as well.

1) Coaching Career Mode

In this mode, you would pick to start as either a defensive or offensive specialist. You would create your own offensive/defensive philosophy and would have the option of creating your own playbook. Once you start, you begin as a coordinator at a small D-1 (or possibly D-2, if they are brought back). You implement your system and recruit players for your side of the ball whether it be offensive or defensive. It would be important to make sure to pick players to fit your system. Fast, slashing backs for a spread, big power backs for a bruising offense, etc. Eventually, you will get job offers from other schools. I remember a mode like this in an older football game (possibly Gamebreaker), and I really enjoyed it.

2) Assign Players to Certain Training

If, for example, you convert a back-up RB to FB you can tell him what to focus on during off season. You can request he gain weight and strength. As a result, he would put on 10-15 pounds, gain strength and blocking, and lose some speed and agility. This would be very helpful when converting players to new positions during the off-season. LB to DE, DE to DT, RB to FB, S to LB, etc. Also, a defensive end that is 6'6 and 220 pounds, for example, may be able to put on weight without losing any speed because of his frame. This would make recruiting those "tweener" prospects much more valuable. A tall, skinny DE coming out of high school with 4.5 speed but a 250 pound bench could gain 15+ points in his strength rating, put on 30-40 pounds, lose little or no speed, and end up being a beast by his junior or senior year. For example, Jamaal Anderson out of Arkansas came in as a 6'6, 210 pound receiver with 4.6 speed. He ended up being a first round pick in the NFL as a 270 pound DE with 4.6 speed. That should be possible, although not a frequent occurrence, in this game.

3) Realistic Player Models

I'm tired of seeing 5'11, 300 pound DTs that visually look like fullbacks. I want to see big bellys hanging over belts and things of that nature. Also, the player models can change. There are some players that are 6'4, 300 that look like body builders. There are others of the same size that look like Jabba the Hut. I'd like to see that reflected in the player models.

4) Option to Have QB Run More in Simulated Games

Some offenses are based off of a scrambling quarterback. I would like to see an offensive slider that could set how often a running play is called for a quarterback and also a rating on how likely a quaterback is to pull it down and run it. I would like to see a quarterback occasionally rip off a 100-150 rushing game in a spread offense.

5) Make Fade Passes Useful

I would like to see a system where you can throw a ball up close to the endzone and actually have a shot at getting a TD. For example, maybe the CB and WR could both go up and battle for the ball. Stats, size of the players, and the accuracy of the QB would determine who comes down with it the majority of the time.

And one that I forgot earlier, please, for the love of God, bring back formation subs.

Ideas for NCAA 2010, and my overall review on the 09.

Let?s start with graphics, then move on to categories such as dynasties, mini games, and campus legend, then we will talk about game play.

GRAPHICS

The Crowd- Although the graphics have improved since last game, I am not impressed at all with the crowd. If anyone has ever been to a real game, the crowd is basically standing still, UNTIL the home team gets a first down, big pass, big run, touchdown etc. Like when an interception is got, the crowd should be going absolutely nuts. And I don?t care what stadium you?re in, it should and is going to be LOUD. Especially if it is a rivalry, ranked game, or season saving game (Conference title etc). So a more realistic crowd would be nice. I know it is probably difficult to make 50,000+ little computer fans do all these crazy things, but still.

The Referees- I think the referees have to be the most pathetic in the game. Last year it was one black guy doing all the calls in the same voice. This year it is a white guy with a goatee doing all the same boring calls. Here?s my thing. To make the game a little more real, put all the refs on the field ( Ref, Ump, Line judge etc.) and make them partially transparent when the play is going on as not to interfere with the game, and of course unable to make contact with the players.

It wouldn?t kill to have a whistle blow the play dead like in real life either. Oh, and you can have Brad Neslar say # so and so, but you can?t have the referees say Holding # so and so on the defense? You have to zoom the dumb camera to show who did it? Pathetic. Show referees, make them say the numbers of the penalized, and for god?s sake, randomize a main referee?s look every game, and change their voices.

The Sideline- Whoa. No movement at all? Not even when a game breaking play is being achieved? Not when 1-10 Washington State is returning a game winning, time expiring punt to knock off #1 USC?s chances in a National? NO MOVEMENT? Pathetic again. Again, would it kill to maybe REALLY sub the players in? Make some move? Have the backup QB warming up, or the kicker practicing into the net? Oh. And it?s awesome you get to create what the coach of the team looks like. Wait. When do we actually see that coach? NEVER. How about putting him on the field? So more movement, give the sideline life, show substitutions etc.

The Coach- I brought this up last paragraph. Put the coach(s) on the field. When a bad pass is thrown, a fumble, a penalty. Show him screaming! Show his disappointment. Or be able to give your coach a personality. How about being able to select a Calm personality (Mark Richt, Jim Tressel, Nick Saban). In between personality (Urban Meyer, Pete Carroll, Phillip Fulmer). Or angry personality (Steve Spurier, Rich Rodriguez, Paul Johnson). Why not? Whatever you choose, expresses it on the field. And Assistant coaches might be too much, but it wouldn?t hurt to try it out.

Upsets, Game winners- Okay guys. If I hit a time expiring 78 yard game winning touchdown pass with Vanderbilt to upset #1 Florida, and I?m at home, and the streak between the two teams is like Florida by 20 years. Then the entire team should run out on the field to celebrate like a pack of wild dogs. Maybe even the crowd (which would realistically happen in that game), come out and celebrate as well. Announcers go nuts talking about the upset etc. Be nice huh? I guess that ties into the dead sideline zombies as well.

Field Goals- Okay. I am upset about the field goals as well. First off. EVERY TEAM, from High school, to NFL. After a kick is made, the 2nd String QB who holds the ball (or whoever does the hold) will slap the kicker?s helmet, they turn and greet each other, or slap hands. And if it?s a big field goal, a game winning field goal, an UPSET FIELD GOAL, the entire team engulfs the kicker!!! They cheer, they chant, they go nuts! The kicker is the hero OMG! He did it!!! He pulled out the clutch kick! Does my kicker do that? No. He jumps up and down and celebrates, while the rest of the team walks off the field like they have to go write reports on why moss sometimes grows on the bottom of rocks where theirs no moisture. It?s lame, it?s boring, and it?s an easy fix so fix it!

Celebration- Please read the Game Play Categories under sub categories Penalties when you see it. Anyway, this is about after a score. I?m sorry EA. But in my opinion the celebrating with mascots is dumb. I don?t think I?ve ever seen a player celebrate with a mascot. Not to mention not every team has a guy in a suit so you are singling out teams. Remove it please. Anyway, the players that walk toward you when you score is awesome, a little more different variations would be nice for the next game, keep it up. But hey, if it?s a game winner, upset, National etc. Get the entire team, and sideline (maybe crowd) involved!!

Okay I am finished with graphics. We need feedback guys so reply and I?ll forward it to the producers/ creators and hopefully they will respond!

Let?s go to Categories if we will.

CATEGORIES

Online dynasty- Probably the best idea since Reese?s Peanut Butter Cups, the online dynasties are absolutely incredible. I love it, and I think the majority will go with me on that, kudos to EA and please read the rest of this paragraph to better next years OD. Alright, the OD is great, but nowhere near perfect so let?s begin.

A lot of people like to do Conference only dynasties, and I don?t think it would hurt if we could modify the conference games. I know we all have to play at least eight, but that?s fine. Let us be able to modify when and where we play those eight games. And which teams in our conference we would like to play that year. Georgia doesn?t play LSU every year, but sometimes they do. But I?ll never be able to modify those things. Get me?

Everyone knows about the players leaving glitch, but take note of that as well please. I think that just like the single player dynasty, you should be able to get offers from different schools. If everyone is in a single conference dynasty, then they will just keep extending their contract, but it would open up more variety if you had a dynasty where everyone started with low schools and got offers until they hit a big program. We all know those annoying kids that go for it on fourth down, onside kick, and do 2pts all the time. Maybe having some sort of option to where you can turn it on to where you can only do those certain things when losing by a certain amount.

Example, you can ONLY select punt/ punt fake when you are 4th and more than 5 yards. But you aren?t allowed to select any shogun, or single back etc. Of course make this an option to turn on and off. Why should I recruit Online dynasty members and have to explain to play fairly, when I can just turn it on and say fair play rules are on. I understand this is the first Online Dynasty, but option would be nice to have, even in ranked games. Also, I know the BCS sucks in real life, but it does in the game too! You basically have to go unbeaten in the dynasty, because it seems there is always two unbeaten teams left. Try to fix this please.

Can Heisman candidates be judged on what teams they play? If My QB throws for 200 yards rushes for 100 yards and has 4 total TDs against Florida State. That should give me more credit than Tim Tebows 3 million yard game against FCS Southeast. It seems the schedules are graded in the beginning of the year, but when it matters in the final BCS rankings, they don?t. Just like in real life, the teams that you have beaten/ gotten beaten by should add up based on what they are ranked at the end of the year. Example: You have LSU, Georgia, and Ohio State in your schedule. It?s an A+. But at the end of the year if those three teams all have two losses, then it should be calculated around a C+ just like in real life.

One last thing. I have come across players that I recruit in my online dynasty that cannot connect to other players. A guy who has Duke, can?t connect to My Miami guy, or Clemson guy, but CAN connect to everyone else no problem. This should either be fixed, or at least some sort of pre season scan that determines who can connect to who. I don?t even know if that is possible but you?re the geniuses! Lol

These additions would be amazing for all online dynasties.

Campus Legend- I am not a huge fan of campus legend, but it can?t be removed simply because it?s required. Everyone wants to be that star player on their favorite team, and the real players who buy the game want to be themselves. If I had any input, it would be to make any defense legend easier to control/ be. I created a SS and it?s so boring when all the computer does is run and never throw a pass my way because I cover well. A little more effort wouldn?t hurt.

Mini games- I think the only purpose that anyone has for playing mini games are to get the achievements. I don?t like them, and think they should be left out to create more devoted time to the online dynasties and graphics.

Practice- Obviously needed, and the big improvement for when you turn the ball over the play is blown dead. The best improvement that could be achieved here for me is to be able to get into practice quicker. It takes too long to load.

Mascot Mash Up- A humorous idea by the creators, but once again they are singling out teams that don?t use mascots. I think it should be left out, and replaced by more thought on other areas.

Custom Rosters- Everyone knows (including EA) that every year people get the real names of all rosters by buying them on eBay, getting it through friends, or simply doing it yourself. Making it easier to manage these rosters would be a great attribute. Too many times have I had to restart an entire Online Dynasty because there is lack of instruction on uploading them online. And too many times I save a roster, only to go online or play now and see stupid numbers. I?m not asking you to illegally put the names on the game. Just make it easier for us to do so.

That?s it for Categories; now let?s get to the all important game play.

GAME PLAY

The New Completely Wide Open Offense- Is a joke. The defense in this game is pathetic. Players have to put the pass blocking on zero just to get close to a sack. Passing is great. Pass defense is not. The game is lopsided towards passers. If you put an excellent player behind Missouri, he can?t be stopped. I don?t care if you have Georgia?s overrated 99 defense, or Oklahoma?s. There are too many holes and it needs to be fixed. God forbid you blitz. Actually, every time I do, I give up a huge pass. EA you have to do something. Read the strategy guide from VG Sports. All they do is rip on how the defense is weak as hell in this years game.

The Run Game- I like how the fluid motion controls are, and it?s pretty cool. But run blocking sucks as well. Name all the times you?ve run up the middle for 20 yards. The holes are non existent, and outside plays are the only real effective ones. Every now and then you can break a big run, but not as often. It seems the defense is much much better against the run then the pass in this game. Maybe some more balance?

Special Teams- Have got to be the most upsetting thing on this game. I have the game since it has come out, and have never blocked a kick, a field goal, or a punt. That is ridiculous. These blocks happen all too often in real life. Look at the first upset of the season. ECU upsetting Virginia Tech by what? Blocking a kick.

This has got to be the most pathetic thing thus far. When I play as Georgia, and am going up against FCS Southeast with the difficulty on Freshman. The computers sliders all the way down, mine all the way up, and call a timeout and select shed blocks. I One out of five tries, I should block that punt. It?s stupid. Randomize it please. Last year I played a friend in a ranked game. We went into 4th overtime because we just kept scoring. He scored after I did, and then I blocked his extra point to win. It was the only way I could win. And I did. Because of special teams.

Speaking of special teams. Why can we not change any of the players on special teams? Urban Meyer did it to make Florida?s Special Teams dominating. Why can?t I? We should have a Special teams setting in the depth chart, and be able to move/ switch players in and out. This would be a nice addition.

Penalties, Penalties, Penalties- So out of the 11 penalties available I have gotten 6 in all my games. Offsides is of course the only one you yourself control. But yet I seem to get holding so much it outdoes my run yards a game.

Here is my biggest problem with penalties. Everyone hates when a guy is being rude online, which happens all the time. You throw a pass and he intercepts it. Runs all the way down field and when he gets inside the 20, he taunts his way into the enzone, runs circles, and then finishes it off by celebrating with the mascot. First off, you can?t do that in college. Their will be a million flags for celebrating on you. SO WHY AREN?T THERE?!

It?s bullcrap that they can do that unpenalized. College football wants to try to distance themselves from the NFL, that?s why they throw flags for taunting. So why don?t you? If a guy even taunts for a milli second against me in a ranked game, he should be flagged and kicking off from his own 20. It?s so rude and unsportsmanlike to do that, and yet you guys let it happen. At least be able to turn taunting on and off. Like in the online dynasties? A commissioner option? C?mon. And if you guys want to be realistic, then celebrating with the mascot would get flagged too.

And how about all the pushing and shoving after a play is over. It?s non existent in the game, but happens all the time in real life. After a play is over how about a chance for unsportsmanlike conduct on a player? I?m not saying have and all out brawl, just a push or something to put some realism back into the game. And a timeout/ bench of the player would fix it.

Heisman Difficulty- Is more annoying than it is challenging. The incredibly weak defense in the game all of a sudden is like the 2007 New England Patriots when you play a computer opponent. They intercept everything, big hit all the time, and break 5 tackles. It is annoying and needs to be fixed. Maybe replace the interception percentage with knockdowns? Sliders are useless with Heisman. User vs. User games don?t apply to this. User Heisman teams seem to be more realistic. But computer is retarded.

SuperSim- Is almost as annoying as playing the computer on Heisman Difficulty. Halfback 4 Rush for -2 yards, halfback 4 rush for -6 yards, halfback 4 rush 79 yards for a touchdown???.

Um. Are you serious? Change this EA. Whatever formulas your computer has for this system is dumber than President Bush. Change Change Change!!!

Icing The Kicker- Is awesome. Completely realistic, and it was needed in the game.

BUT. I don?t think it?s quite hard enough. If their isn?t any wind, and it?s not at an angle. You kiss the game goodbye. Maybe making it harder would satisfy. I?ve never missed an ice by the way.

Quarterback Quiz- Okay. I just threw an interception. I want to get back to playing the game as quickly as possible to make up for my dumb mistake. I don?t want to see some dumb quiz come up. Granted you can turn it off, but not in a ranked game.

CLOSING THOUGHTS

Some things to think about adding and my closing statements- I love Brent Musberger?s commentary, and Lou Holtz as well. Maybe getting them in on the game announcing and switching it up would make the game a little more tolerable for long play days. Again stressing the variety of referees and changing them up as well.

I have a theory. Awareness is random to me, but one of the most important traits a player has. I was thinking about having a Composure rating instead of awareness. The higher a composure rating, the less a player makes mistakes (Throwing behind, Fumbling, committing penalties etc). And the only way to raise composure is to have good coaches.

Enter Offense and Defensive coordinators. The higher a rating for these coaches, the better your player?s composures are in a game. Lets say that a Linebacker that has a composure rating of C (79 or below) would commit personal foul more often than a player with a rating of A or 90. We?ll say for example the C rating would commit an average of 2 penalties a game, while the A wouldn?t at all. Then you recruit a Defensive coordinator with a rank of B, and then your next game that Linebackers composure is now around an 88. Because his coach is coaching him well.

Now along with student recruiting, we can recruit better Offense and Defensive coordinators as well. Battle to get coordinators to quit jobs, or take a look at potential free coordinators. Then you apply this to kickers, quarterbacks etc. Example, a kicker with a low composure would have a more difficult time kicking when iced. And a quarterback with low composure would have more trouble converting on a game saving 4th down. And maybe with better coordinators, the players under those coordinators would improve better in the off season. Get me?

Of course don?t make it easy to get these guys. These are careers of course, and you should have unlock pitches just like students. Instead of academics, it would be salary etc. You can take the idea and modify it anyway.

I think it would be good to think over, and add a new side to the game. With all the firing of coaches this year it might spark an interest.

Closing thoughts. This is a great game, and EA has done a great job. But maybe if they respond to all the fans cries, then we would stop speculating that EA?s main focus is Madden, and NCAA is like a lesser game. They are two different games, and should be treated equally. I love college football, and NFL. But I love College football games. All this new stuff they added to Madden. All the is time and effort I?d like to see applied to NCAA. Even some of these improvements would go a long way, but I think all are well within reach.

Thanks everyone for reading, and leave your thoughts! I?m going to keep forwarding this to EA until I get a response.

-Mike

First of all I would like to congratulate EA Sports on a great job this year with NCAA Football 09. Job well done!!!

I was thinking about the game recently and I had a few ideas for next years game..

Appearance- When creating and editing rosters I noticed that there were a few things that could enhance the appearance of players. For example QB Towels or how about not just a QB wristband. Maybe a playbook that hangs from the belt like many college players wear. Also while having long sleeves or short sleeves add one arm sleeves? I also noticed that every player was RIPPED on the game. I don't know about you guys, but I've never seen kickers as big and strong as they look on the game. The game would be more realistic if not every player was gigantic and muscled up.

Another idea- I dont know if this is possible but I thought it'd be awesome if it was. EA could update rosters midway through the season to incorporate great players that were not rated so well early on. Example: Dez Bryant is the 3rd best receiver on OSU's team.. EA could sell this so called "mod" and make it available for users to download online.. As I said I don't know if this is possible but I think it would be a huge hit.

Anyway thats just a few of my thoughts.

This is to the EA staff- is there any way of getting NCAA 2007 or any later version for the Gamecube? Do you think you could make custom copies?

HERE ARE MY COMPLAINTS and I play it on PS3 which is suppose to be the best game engine! I figured I'd split it into KEEP THESE and FIX THESES. All of these came while watching a CPU vs CPU simulated game:

KEEP THESE (for next year's version):

Love the realness and layouts of the fields and their actual looks.

Keep the NCAA News screens. Love the layout of these screens. Love the ESPN Radio Broadcast, but have ya'll ever thought about doing something similar to Madden when the ESPN News Broadcast were based on what actually happened during your season and not in real life?

Love the graphics of the players and the fact that you can pick from multiple uniforms!

Love the specific team background screens along with the specific team fight songs. Keep em!

Love the fact that you can see the cheerleaders and mascots during the games celebrating and what not (Although you can get rid of the MASCOT Game!)

Love the commentary, ya'll do an EXCELLENT job on this each year! It's what separates Madden from NCAA Football.

Keep the "Players of the Game" notices and "Game Changing Performance". Love em!

Keep the ability to watch computer simulated games during the season! Glad ya'll added it.

Keep the ability to do EA Sports Highlights! You don't know how much bragging I've been able to do with these!

FIX THESE (for next year's version):

I'll start of with: BRING BACK "IF IT'S IN THE GAME, IT'S IN THE GAME" as well as the opening screen showing REAL people saying this! MISS THAT!

Bring back Division I-AA and Division II schools! Ya'll done this in previous versions and many consumers are screaming for it, so where are they?!?

Bring back the IMPACT players where you actually see the players warming up before the game.

Bring back players actually doing the PRE-GAME entrances that they actually do before the game starts (e.g., running out of tunnels, rubbing lucky statues, etc).

Bring back the great celebrations after wining games, bowl games, national championships, heisman, etc!! Where are the post game celebrations?? the fireworks?! We miss em! What about a whole theme surrounding winning the Heisman?? That would be nice.

Bring back the impact of home field advantage has on opposing players and the ability to see PLAYER COMPOSURES!

Bring back the referees and coaches on the fields!!!

Fix. Okay, what's with the lack of smooth and fluid motion of running and passing in this year's game??? Who ever did the motion capture, ya'll need to FIRE that person! EA you need to fix how players move? Running is horrible, it's like you may as well be jogging? Receivers don't seem to accelerate as quick as they did in previous versions. How about fixing the fact that receivers who don't run fast jump high like they're jordan! This is NOT a basketball game. What happen to the speed in previous versions???? Also, when a pass is caught, who runs backwards to lose yards?! NO ONE!

Fix. What's with the computer's playcalling? 3rd and 1 and you pass every time?!? Or my favorite, the computer takes soooo much time to call and run a play when they are BEHIND! Where's the 2 minute offense???

Fix. Defenders always using ONE arm to knock down a pass and then only the ones that are above their heads? Where is the motion to knock down/knock away a pass that's thrown low? Please fix how quick a player moves!

Also, fix the fact that slant patterns are UNSTOPPABLE!! Not in real life does it always work! Also, players running out of bounds when there's miles of daylight ahead of them?!!? No sense!

Fix. The play calling screens or season screens. During Bowl Weeks, I should be able to SIM through a bowl week without having to sim my own bowl! I should also be able to have the other games playing SIMULTANEOUSLY while i'm playing my game! This way you can have GAME BREAKS or scores from other games! You should be able to pick which games you DON'T want played SIMULTANEOUSLY. Remember previous versions when you could do this and still get scores from other games while playing your game?

Fix. The fact that i CAN'T set my control buttons to my liking!!! man this drives me nuts as a football game player! bring back the ability to do this!!!

Fix. Where is the gang tackling? And since when do you ALWAYS knock a player forward when you tackle them?!

I guess that's all for now, but adding the above would make this game the GREATEST football game on earth. NCAA Football 2010 would be untouchable if ya'll kept and added/fixed the above things!

First thing, I do love this game, that said, here are my complaints, 1- a linebacker 15 yards in front of my wide receiver should not be able to jump up and intercept the ball, it's just ridiculous. 2- why do the defensive backs always seem to make a better play on the ball than my wide receiver? if I have a 5 or more yard lead on the DB, he should not be able to speed up and make a diving finger tip catch in front of my wide receiver, it just seems like the DB's are better at catching than my WR's. 3- Recruiting needs tweeked, it sucks being someones #1 choice all year and losing them the last week, and what is it with listing an ath. at guard, and you sign him and he ends up being a WR, can you please fix this, and lets make the Ath. a little more diverse, make them good at several positions, not just one, thats why they are Athletes!

additions I would like to see: Ability to Create you own playbook; ability to sub players in individual formations, for example I would to have a speed back in some formations, a power back in others: bring money back into the mix, I miss the ability to improve stadiums, etc. It was also cool when you could design your own plays, I would rather see this type of stuff instead of the Mascot and mini game trash, worthless!

(PS3) This is a really good game. I enjoyed it immensely. There are really only 2 things I would like changed. 1. Let the user set the controls to whatever they want. Not just some of them. 2. Allow an 8 team tournament option at the end of the season with the top 8 BCS teams. It is highly annoying when Kent St. & Boise St. who have both played a cupcake schedule is playing in the BCS title game while me (The undefeated SEC winner) is not.

This is my list. It?s a little lengthy, but there?s so many important things that need to be added to this game lets get to the necessities that are desperately needed to better improve NCAA football as a whole. I?ve read through this thread, and I?ve tried to take in what everyone?s added to this thread and apply it to my list. I?ve taken some things from people and added them directly. I?ve really tried to cover everything I find important. For the moment, put all the create a team and better Heisman mode or dynasty or whatever stuff aside. Lets get to the basics and better improve gameplay and overall quality of the game. The other stuff will follow suit, but we?ve been less focused on the extra stuff, than the actual game. With that said, here?s my list.

1) Improved player models - This is very desperately needed. I'm growing wary of these hulking figures at every position. Madden seemed to vastly improve on player models this year, it's time for NCAA to follow suit and do the same. All Lineman and LB's aren't enormously huge. Many DE's and linebackers are very lean, fit, and athletic. Terrence Cody, and Carlos Dunlap shouldn't seem to be around the same size. They have totally different body styles. Try to make their bodies more proportionate please. Let's try to give RB's and Receivers and DB's proper and varying body styles as well. All skill position players are pretty much built the same, and it's about time for that to stop. Lets try to harness the power of these systems and advance on the players body styles.

The graphics as a whole need to be completely overhauled. This past year has shown us the power of these systems, and what these games can look like when actual time and effort are put into them. Look at MGS4, GTA4, Gears 2, Fallout 3, etc and their graphical achievement. It?s about time for EA to put some time and effort in their game(s) and harness the power of these systems to give us the most graphically realistic game possible. Make it look and feel like college football.

2) Improving the battle in the trenches/Running Game - In reality, there?s a running game in College Football. There are RB's out there that are game changers, and have major effects on games. However on NCAA Football the running game is virtually non existent due to the poor gameplay in the trenches. Now, I'm stealing some of these ideas from Jess Stewarts a look ahead to NCAA Football 2010 but it still applies.

http://www.operationsports.com/feature.php?id=516

Pancake. Upon contact one of the linemen gets sat on his rear. Pancakes are a part of the game but the way in which they happen in EA's football games are ridiculous. Add some animations where the lineman actually pushes the other person to the game after a few yards.

Defender spins/rips out of block. This is the only way to get out of a block which it saddens me to say. You either use use the swim move to get by or spin off him. What about a speed rush to the outside or a quick move to the inside? There are so many different things that could happen with the linemen interacting!

Defender warps to tackle ball carrier. It's happened to all of us. You're on offense and you call a run play only to see a huge hole in the line. Your eyes light up as you head for the hole and once you reach it some d-lineman magically ends up in a tackle animation and you view the replay thirty times to witness the terrible play.

As an addition, give the RB?s more animations. More jukes, broken tackles, stiff arms, and spin animations. Make what we see on Saturdays from Knowshon Moreno, Chris Rainey, Percy Harvin, Joe Mcknight, etc, a reality. Further develop the branching system, branch moves together, and give us a more realistic feel. Give playmakers the oppertunity to be playmakers.

3) Presentation - I'd do my own evaluation on this, but honestly there's no need. It's been covered by a million people, so again, the following was taken from the Jess Stewarts list.

Team specific entrances. Some the come to mind immediately are: ND's touching of the "Play Like a Champion Today" sign and Clemson's touching of Howard Rock. How about a generic entrance where the players rush out of the tunnel and you let us set some music? How easy would that be!? Just give us something because fast forwarding to the coin toss is about as stale as it gets. Currently we get a great shot of the stadium, they look lovely. But where's the "wow" factor in that? Oh man look at this greatly designed stadium, it really pumps me up for the game. Here you can see what these generic entrances could be like.

Pregame information. Give us a little information on the game at hand. Show a couple impact players on each team with a stat overlay and we're all good.

Halftime highlights. Could we get some stats with a little discussion on the game and a "play of the half" segment? Have one of the commentators talk about the game a little to recap what happened.

In-game information. I would love to see the ESPN bottom line utilized as scores of other games in our Dynasty would scroll across the screen. Wasn't this in a NCAA game before? More stat overlays would also be a great welcome and I think a page can be taken out of 2K's basketball series. The stats could be added very subtly on the bottom of the screen.

Post game highlights. Improvement on the current post game system would be a nice addition. Bring back the cut scenes of coaches shaking hands and players celebrating and pouting. Put some weight on the game matchups and if a big upset happens have the crowd go nuts and have commentary on the importance of the upset for the underdog.

As an addition, can we finally see some players, coaches, and refs on the sidelines? I?m sick and tired of looking at the horrible attempt at sideline interaction. Give us some realistic player models on the sidelines, some coaches and refs, and some sideline interaction.

Bring back the chain gang. They had this on Sega Genesis, why isn?t it in the Next Gen games?

Progressive lighting was in 08 and I read why it wasn't in 09. While I personally would've introduce the whole new lighting in 2010, I won't complain as long as it's in 2010 going forward, and is done correctly, according to time zone and time of year.

When you call a time out, the camera should zoom out and rotate to a high press box view, and show 2-3 water boys/girl running to the huddle to issue the players water, as well as the QB jogging to the sideline to meet with the coach. Once QB reaches sideline, camera should cut to a sideline view of coach and QB talking. (you should still be able to pick a play before the QB makes it to the sideline, as these views will now serve as the time out playcall screen view) Once you've selected your play, the QB and any sub players, should run back to the huddle, water boys/girl run off the field 2-3 second delay, and break the huddle. All while the camera reverses back (zoom in and rotate) to the original offense pre-snap view.

Post game should show media and teams empty on to the field to shake hands from the press box view, and the fans that are still left, leaving the stadium. **View highlights and game changing performance should be user optional to view.**

Progressive weather i.e. snow/rain on and off, overcast with early, mid game, and/or late rain, or partly sunny turning to cloudy. You get the point. A variation of weather effects.

The commentary needs a complete overhaul. I?m tired of the same old same old. With as much memory as the Blu-Ray disk has, there should be a lot more commentary added.

More applicable player celebrations. Put some emotion in the game please. Seriously, it?s College Football. Watch it, and put it in the game. Put fights and scuffles before, during, and after heated games or rivalries. If there?s an upset, allow the crowd to rush the field. Speaking of fans, make them more realistic. One things that?s been missing in the and one thing that made this game great was the crowd noise bar that was implemented in old gen games. You know, the one that shook the screen and made it feel as if your crowd actually had an effect on the game? It was great, and it should have never been taken out of the game. You?re EA Sports, you can do this. You have the power and the money. Now it?s time to put in the time and effort.

4) Improved Cosmetics: Athletic gear and Football Fields - You have the Nike, Under Armor, and Addidas licenses. Take the time and actually use it. Player editing should have way more options. Every player shouldn?t wear the same cleats. Give us diversity in cleat selection and colors. Speed players where cleats that are built for speed, there?s also cleats for linebackers, and lineman. Put these in the game. This year, I wanna see the Nike Speed TD?s and Vapor Jet 4.2?s, and Nike Superbads. I don?t wanna see every single player in the with the same exact cleat in the same exact color. That?s lazy. Again, these are next gen systems, harness the power. Take a look at teams like Oregon, Cal, UF, WV, etc, and the varying cleats in varying colors the players wear. Put it in the game please. It?s desperately needed.

Give us more option as far as arm bands are concerned. There?s more places to wear Nike arm bands and such other than around your elbows, and on your wrist. Many players wear them around there calfs, on there upper arms, etc. Also, give us the Nike sports gear as far as compression gear is concerned. Give us varying lengths and designs of compression gear as well. Many players wear short sleeve compression shirts that come out right under the shoulder pads like a T-Shirt, not all compression shirts are long sleeved. Single arm sleeves - more and more kids are going to the AI look. Put these options in the game.

Add eyepaint and eyestrips, Nike Chin shields, mouthpieces, hand towels and rags, hand warmers, spatz, knee braces, etc. As far as hair goes, add dreadlocks and long hair, etc. Also, give us a sock slider. There?s so many possibilities, and so much you can do with these players due to the power of these systems. Just put some effort into it. Players where there socks in so many different ways it?s crazy not to have a sock slider. Seriously.

Revolution Helmets have become the primary Helmets in the NCAA. There?s a few helmet options, but a lot more need to be added. You?re missing a lot, and considering Revolution Helmets have become a big part of the game, they need to be added.

As far as Jerseys are concerned, we need more options. Many teams have a lot more than a single alternate Jersey. For example, Oregon, WV, Cal, and TT. Teams have various Jerseys, put them in the game. Like I said, you have the license to Nike, Under Armor, and Addidas athletic gear, use it. Also, don?t just add the jerseys, get the colors right. The teams colors need to be richer and deeper, a lot of teams jerseys look pale. Give us a much wider selection of Jerseys.

All In all, a plethora of player options that need to be added. You have the license, just use it.

Football Fields. As far as the football fields are concerned, lets implement correct field colors and textures. Turf is turf, and grass is grass. Can you please make it so we can tell the difference? You remember back when Madden had 3D grass? Well, can you put it in NCAA? Also, lets get some field degradation. Fields get torn up a little after games, put this in the game. When it rains, lets see puddles form in places in the field. If it?s raining, the field should be muddy and torn up, it shouldn?t be perfect as if nobody played on it. When it snows, lets see actual footprints and such. Etc, etc, etc.

5) Gameplay - Formations subs were once apart of EA football games, I don?t know why they were taken out, but they?re desperately missed. We should be able to sub who we wish in certain formations, especially on special teams.

Formation shifts and multiple motions. Again, this was once apart of the Madden Football franchise, it along with a host of other things that made the game great was taken out. It needs to be added as well.

WR/DB Interaction. Oddly, there is none. There needs to be many more animations added as far as this concerned. More press and release, DB?s jumping routs, skilled WR?s breaking lesser talented DB?s down, DB?s wrapping around the receiver to knock passes down, more animations where both the receiver go up and fight for the ball, more crushing DB hits, etc.
More catching animations. More animations where the there?s one handed catches, tip balls, diving catches, catches where the receiver has to go get the ball etc. Also add more catching animations for the DB?s.
Open field blocking AI needs improvement. I'm not saying these types of plays should work all the time but there is no reason for lineman to blatantly not block people that should clearly be blocked. This also happens when I break nice running plays into the 2nd level, half the time if there?s guy for me to beat and I have a lineman running with me, instead of blocking the guy that has the best chance to tackle me he will break off and try to block someone who is totally out of the play. All blocking shouldn't be about the grapple-suction. Sometimes it's diving at a defender's legs and causing the animation where the defender is off-balance putting him behind. This would work well on DL/OL play. There should be times where the OT shoves the DE off balance to the outside and occasionally push him hard enough that it knocks him down. This would require OL's to form a pocket and make the angles meaningful.

Differentiating between good, bad, average, and all-american level players at all positions. We should able to tell the difference between an average DL and an All-american DL, an average WR and an All-American WR, an average DB and an All-American DB, an average RB and an All-American RB, etc.

More realistic running styles, and some running styles even need to be player specific. There should be a difference between the way in which Bennie Wells and Percy Harvin run. If a player runs a 4.2, than that player should run as if he actually runs a 4.2.

The animation system needs a complete overhaul. There desperately needs to be more juke and cutting animations. More spins and stiff arms. Power RB?s need more animations where they?re running through tackles. The branching system needs to be taken to the next level. Defenders need more tackling animations, harder more vicious hits, etc. Again, there?s so many possibilities with these systems, lets get it done.

Make weather a factor. When it rains, the players should be affected by it. More passes should be dropped, players should slip more often, etc.

Make size and strength more important. You should be able to feel the difference between a 230 pound back, and a 185 pound back. You should also feel the difference in the trenches.

The lighting needs to be vastly improved.

Fix the game speed. For some reason, last gen NCAA was much faster than what we have now. A faster paced game would not only represent the ultra fast game of College Football, but it would make the gamer have to be much quicker on the sticks to pull off chain moves, jukes, cuts, etc. The faster the game, the more fun and realistic it is.

Make the game as whole more realistic. Allow jerseys to be pulled out and hang for the duration of the game. Make grass stains more prominent, and helmets and shoes to fall off a times, etc.

6) Online - Update roster. Teams get better as the season goes on. There?s no reason why I shouldn?t be able to compete with Alabama after the season they?ve just had. If a team was overrated, their stats should be decreased. Also, we should be able to update our rankings after each week. We should be able to get online and have some way to have our rankings on the game updated with the actual BCS and AP rankings after each week.

Fix the bugs and glitches. Make the online games more fluid.

Dedicated servers please.

7) Conclusion - This list may look like too much to put into a game, but seriously, it isn?t. EA has too much power, money, influence, and resources for these things not to be put in the game. We invest all this money into next gen systems to get a next gen experience. There?s no reason with the power these systems posses for us not to have the type of game we all wish for. We?ve seen what other developers have accomplished with these systems. Games like GTA4 and MGS4 pushed gaming to another level, and gave us a glimpse of the available possibilities if time and effort is put into harnessing the power of these systems. Please EA, not only as a gamer, but as a fan of College Football, give us the best experience possible. There?s no longer any excuses, most of these things should have been in gaming a long time ago but were left out because either the old gen systems didn?t have the power, or you didn?t yet fully understand how to harness the power of the next gen systems. You?ve had the time and exposure, please cater to your fans and give us the best possible gaming experience.
