For the first time since I bought this game, i came in and rip a wristshot off the cross bar and in from the slot(no glitch or anything) just a nice wristshot in the net surprised but was cool, maybe the patch made for more random goals.

I thought it was fine before really (for offline). The good goalies and good defensemen stopped it before. Now, a 70 rated defenseman can stop Crosby and Malkin on a 2 on 1. :S
Well, it's a little better if you you move the sliders down for the AI pass interceptions and poke checks.

You know what would be absolutely wonderful?
A rule against two line passes.
I am so * tired of outshooting teams 20 to 5 and losing games because the little bastards break past my team's two man defense twice a game and score on a breakaway while we hammer pucks from the point like the net is a worthless *'s * and still can't win a damn game. It's absolutely retarded. Reward a team for playing solid hockey.

Update was decent but roster control still sucks...goons killing the penalty etc...so annoying...even after you fix and edit rosters..go to GM mode and play a game and already lines are back to being screwed up with goons on the penalty kill and 4th liner types playing top 3 lines etc...wasted 1hr of updating roster and edits for nothing...so annoying! Hope they fix this on the next update!!

You know what else would be wonderful?
When a 6'4, 210 pounder hits a 5'8 180 pounder, the smaller guy falling on his * *.
I am so * tired of playing perfect defense by denying the middle and guiding people to the boards, setting them up to smash them with my guy that has a 95 checking rating, only to bounce off of the opposing player and have them skate on past me......
..... and then score a * little cross crease goal that the goalie doesn't anticipate worth a *. I played high school hockey. As a goalie, you're looking at other players on the ice, not just the guy with the puck. It's called anticipation.
I don't care if you've got a 95 for puck control and balance, when your guy is the size of Martin *. Louis, and he gets smashed into the boards buy a guy the size of Jay Bouwmeester, *. Louis is going to fall down. I think the reason this probably doesn't happen is because the game play is garbage. Too many people play NHL10 like a video game instead of like a hockey game. They constantly work themselves into poor positions when playing against people that actually know what a hockey game looks like. Yet, these people are rewarded for their poor play. It's absolutely horrible. EA needs to get on their gameplay programmer's * and make their fix their garbage or just fire the whole * team and bring in a new lot.

I'm still noticing a few glitches...
1: Be a GM/BAP boosts/equip not unlocking too.
2: CCM V10 Helmet not unlocking with slots.
Gameplay seems a bit better, but my experience with it is limited after 2-3 hours.

not a whole lot to say on the gameplay front, but:
1. not seeing a authentic, boostable helmet and if the only thing is one authentic 3-slot helmet, then the NHL 10 team definitely misled us
2. i'm not getting my +5 passing boost for having a legend GM plaque. i really don't want to buy it or go through that many seasons again just to improve my BAP.

Second thing they need to fix and idk y EA diidnt think people wouldnt play keep away when there winning and its even strength but... In the rule book it states when u are even strength you are not aloud to make backward progressive into your defensive zone once you break your zone(Having the intent to delay the game) Which u know thats what there doing...The result of what should happen is It will result in a faceoff in the offenders zone as a delay of game no penelty is given just a face off...BTW its Rule 629 Letter C (Puck must be kept in Motion ) In the 2009-20011 Official Rules and casebook of Ice Hockey..
-----------------------------------------------
I am fairly certain this is NOT an NHL rule, or one I have ever heard of in any league I have played in. Sounds more like basketball then hockey.
The only stipulation in the NHL is that the puck must stay in MOTION. If you freeze it on the boards or net,etc then it can result in a faceoff and in some cases a penalty.
I used to referee. I haven't seen a rulebook for a few years and can't say for sure, but I can say that his Rule numbering and lettering [Rule 629-C] is consistent with the way USA hockey rulebooks are written. So he's either right or he's a good liar who's done his research.
This may well be a USA hockey rule, who knows. But I doubt it's an NHL rule. Either way, the game is full of small inconsistencies (like face-off positions for many offsides or puck out of play situations) But hockey rules are very complicated compared to some other sports, and you can't realistically expect EA (as much as I dislike EA, this is one time you'll find me sticking up for them) to keep up on every little rule that is implemented. Especially when you consider that they begin laying the groundwork for a game a year in advance.
While we're talking about nitpicky rules, has the NHL done away with intentional offsides? The way I'm used to playing, if a teamate is offsides and you shoot the puck into the offensive zone on net, it is ruled "intentional offsides" and the ensuing faceoff is held all the way back in your defensive zone. Has this changed?
The NHL still has the rule against intentional offsides.
"If in the opinion of the Linesman, an intentional off-side play has been made, the puck shall be faced-off at the end face-off spot in the defending zone of the offending Team.
(NOTE 1) An intentional off-side is one which is made for the purpose of securing a stoppage of play regardless of the reason, whether either Team is short-handed.
(NOTE 2) If, while an off-side call is delayed, a player of the offending Team deliberately touches the puck to create a stoppage of play, the Linesman will signal an intentional off-side."

Endless "line up for faceoff" loop. Resulted in disconnect from the EA server.

Hey dude, guess what i was moaning about the helmet issue earlier, today when i turned on my xbox and fired nhl 10 away........the helmet magicly appeared....WOOT. So it took about day or day and a half AFTER the patch was applied to get the helmet.
Seems bit strange but atleast i got now.

Can't see this at all! I try a new BAP Career and i played 4 good Games for the Islanders: I only got A valuations. For example "Position" an valuation average of A+, I got my rookie milestone and I was the forth best Center ragarding ratings in the Franchise and they still drop me to the AHL. What are the **** conditions to stay in the NHL!??? I do everything you can think of! First draft Pick, Only A valuations, Rookie milestone, forth best Center Rating in the Franchise, 3 wins in 4 Games, 2 important assists as a Playmaker, good +/- Rating.
Sorry... but I just don't get it.
And BTW: Since the patch is out, the Goalies made realy dangerous plays when they come out of the Goal and try to play the Puck. It looks realy crazy.

I think its either your poor spelling, or lack of vocabulary. NHL teams tend to look at players who know how to spell words correctly.

Your heritage has nothing to do with race, so none of my remarks were in fact racist. As an eastern European, i assume you are Caucasian. I am a white polish boy.
Sorry for being a jackass man, im just pissed that im up at 4:30 in the morning writing a paper....
But to answer your question, its a matter of if your team needs you or not. I don't exactly know how they tuned the "logic" behind it. I mean hell, EA could have said that just to please the masses.
