NHL 12 Issue: Replays showing bodychecks/hits only

When playing a game in any game mode and a replay is shown during the game, 9/10 (perhaps even 10/10) times the replay shows a bodycheck or a big hit. I've played the game for about 5 hours total now, and haven't seen a single shot action in the replays during the game. This is very annoying.

Especially when you make a nice (slap)shot, whether it's saved by the goalie or hits a post, you expect to see this as a highlight in any of the replays during the game. Well, this simply doesn't happen!? Seeing a bodycheck or big hit all the time in the replays, makes me think the programming of the replays is targeted on showcasing the new "full contact physics engine". The only replays showing shot actions, are the replays at the end of a period or at the end of the game.

In a game of ice hockey more things happen then bodychecks or big hits on the ice. As it is now in NHL 12, it isn't realistic!

Please fix this with an update EA.

The presentation is the exact same recycled garbage from previous years.. what happened to new player animations? you guys couldnt throw a new presentation for the first time in what seems forever.. thanks for wasting 60$ you could have just updated nhl 11

Yeah what the hell EA? you took 2 steps back in presentation this year, i have to say im very dissapointed this year and im not buying another product from you. Sorry. This is just nhl 11 with a roster update. There is nothing presentation wise that I am happy about. You only did 2 team specific intros and I hate both teams, Im a ducks fan and how does san jose get the shark head but all the other teams with props not get custom intros? Nashville, calgary(flames from the scoreboard), buffalo smoke from jumbotron, anaheim smoke from jumbotrons, octopus or flames from top of jumbotron in detroit. Come on ea dont half A$$ something and make it seem like you actually did something great, it makes you look lazy. Im done I could put so much here but its a waste of my time, you guys never listen anyways. Oh btw, goal horns are still wrong, thanks again....

Longer scrums after the whistle with an option to fight.

Choice of on ice brawls,fighting late in a game (minute or less) with the automatic 1 game suspension and suspensions for cheap shots.

Every once blue moon - bring out the stretcher and trainer for those really big hit's that crumple a guy (that would be awesome).

Abilty to hit the ref with the puck/accidental check.

But the real problem is SM-liiga and other leagues. They don't play the national anthem in the beginnin. We have the same kind of openings as in NHL. So please change that asap!

And this thing has been bothering me since 09. Every time the period ends it shows scene where goaltender skates of the net and it looks like the play has been in that side of the ring even if it has been at the other end or in the middle.


Take ideas from Madden crew and make the game look like actual proadcast!!!!!

The Nashville Predators new jerseys have the wrong shade of blue in NHL 12.

The blue color should be much darker than it appears in NHL 12.

couple of things that should be fixed for NHL 13.

1. On the back of the nets there should be a NHL shield logo.




2. The face-off lines don't look authentic.

Noticed big flaw with equipment colors. The gloves for the Oilers and Islanders are mostly blue with a orange cuff. They should have orange fingers as well. They were like this is nhl 11. So why arent they in NHL 12? I ve also noticed that sometimes when i wear the reebok 10k's they change. I dunno if this is a glitch or what but just doesnt look right when the team colors on equipment isnt right.

Really need to give the goalies better animations when they get scored on. They need to be a little more disappointed and probably have about 10 different animations.

Get rid of the cheesy celebrations! Turn on the TV and watch a game and see what the players do after they score. They huddle up and tap helmets. This should be done in actual game play, not a cut scene.

Get rid of the cheesy camera work (crazy zooming) when it cuts to goalies after a whistle.

The fighting is horrendous! Take a look at 2KSports NHL2K9. Very impressive fighting.....and dekes for that matter. The fact that you can only do a handful of preset dekes it depressing.

The crowd needs a lot of work. To many repetitive animations.

Add another ref and the linesman. Why wouldn't you?

There needs to be more scrums around the net that involve everyone together, not "everyone grab a partner and push each other". Turn on a real game on TV and do that.

NEW ANNOUNCER!!!!!!! Sick to death! You need the option of a few different announcers in the game. Doc Emerick would be amazing! Boston Announcer, Rangers announcer. But, for god sakes stay away from the Buffalo announcer!

*My biggest gripe though is the fact that there still hasn't been an online season mode added! I would like to play with my brother and friends on the internet in a season rather than just a single game. Seems like a no brainer really.

In NHL 12 :: Update/ fix the Florida Panther jerseys!!! they look like trash. I always have to play with the old jerseys. the new ones are not proportional like all the others. Please fix!!!!

While I enjoy the NHL series, I feel that my ideas may help provide a better gaming experience to most of your customers. My suggestions may seem outrageous to some people because of the possible time/money required to integrate these features into the next NHL release.

1) It seems to me that "you" (EA Sports Developers) are trying to imitate the broadcasting format of NBC. My suggestion is to Obtain whatever licensing necessary to use the full NBC format (Music, broadcasters, broadcast graphics, etc.). However, it would also be wonderful if you could provide downloadable sets of commentators and "broadcast skins" from regional broadcasters such as MSG, Fox Sports, TSN, RDS, Root Sports, NESN, etc.) to override the default presentation. I feel that doing this will provide gamers with a local feel to the game that will not only improve gaming experience, but also will cause gamers to recommend the NHL game to those who may not have bought the game without this feature because of "lack of effort".

2) IIHF license. This is more of a personal issue than a real "game killer" however I feel that it needs to be addressed. Due to the lack of an IIHF license, we (gamers) are stuck with hideous looking international jerseys that make me question "Why bother putting this in if it's not done with full effort?"

Overall, I feel that if you are willing to "pull out all the stops" and implement my ideas that EA could break free of the "EA doesn't care" impression that some of the gamers have on these forums. Also, I feel that with these features implemented, I will finally be able to put the NHL series in my gaming console and say with confidence that "I am getting my moneys worth and I will without a doubt be buying the next release."

I am begging you, PLEASE do not force the awful shootout camera angle. Add an option to disable it and let us play with whichever angle we are comfortable with!! It is a game-deciding moment and the game-play goes from smooth and fluid to jerky, jagged and unrealistic. The game itself is fantastic, but this one little (lack of) a setting literally destroys the immersion that you are hoping to achieve. Some people love the shootout cam, which is great! All I am pleading is that you stop forcing it. It is a part of the game that is too important to allow something so petty have such a negative impact. I know I am not alone here.

Don't think this have reported before.... Finnish team Tampereen Ilves are missing their logo on the jerseys.

ATTENTION EA SPORTS:

Are you all planning on fixing the Preds and Panthers jerseys at all? You fixed Winnipeg’s jerseys as soon as you could after releasing them wrong. Those panther jerseys are horrible. I love your game, always have, but how do you let THAT get through to the finished product? The Preds jerseys are better than the Panther’s, but not quite correct. I’ll let the collar being wrong or the names on the back being off center on the Preds jerseys slide, just fix it for NHL 13. PLEASE fix the blue that is being used on the Preds new jersey’s for NHL 12. As mentioned by many posters previously, including myself several months ago yet it’s never patched, it’s the wrong shade of blue. The blue you have for Nashville when editing goalie equipment is the shade that should be on the jersey. Otherwise known as the shade of blue they’ve always used. The Panther’s jersey problem are obvious, or at least they should be, they are to me. A few other teams have issues as well but I'm just focusing on these two teams.

If you want me to help you all out with NHL 13 I will for free. Honestly, I’ll set up through you, sign a legal document if needed, and if I let any info out (which I wouldn't) you can put me though the legal grinder. I’m dead serious, I will and I want to help you all with jersey authenticity. I’m a NHL jersey collector, hockey sweaters are a passion of mine. You represent the entire NHL with your game, and that should be reflected in your finished product. If not presented in the finished product, it should be patched a.s.a.p. Just send me screen shots of the team’s jerseys for NHL 13 well in advance and I can tell you what needs to be corrected, if anything. You all got my email address, if you want me to help out let me know.

I know the season is almost over, but my gaming isn’t. PLEASE fix what you can for the Pred’s and Panther’s jerseys in NHL 12 a.s.a.p. if you can.
