Hi,

I have the same issues with the serve and volley game… If EA was a bit more accurate then it wasn’t a problem …
But when I place a pass shot (by hitting the ball as late as possible ) and my opponent is on the other side of the tennis court he still manage to return the ball.
This is normally not possible so I am sure that the base line player is having a disadvantage in this tennis game…

So count me in for an exclusive game…

BTW... whats this serve bug..?

Will be online for the next couple of hours in the highly unlikely case that someone checks this.

I hardly find any baseline buddies online, hence I suggest everyone put their messenger ids on this thread or add me on msn messenger.

lmigst at hotmail.com is my id. Ping me evenings 6:30pm - 9:00pm PST. I prefer matches at preset time (then sync on messenger before going online).

3 set 6 game matches, (any court other than french - no offense - sliding is just not my style), can play either strict baseline (100% no serve and volley/no net rushing) or baseline lite (come to the net on serve or midpoint occasionally to mix things up but not every point), either way we determine before the game what style is okay. Absolutely no mid court camping, no lob spams, no drop shot spams. For that I can go online against random players and get a good dose of every cheat available.

I have played with wilso and playerone a couple of matches and it is 10x more fun than going against GST online random mid court nunchuk campers that have literally swamped the system.

Same here. I have around 30 people on my buddies list, but nobody ever seems to be online between 7:00-11:00 PM EST . Aside from you, Wilso, and Kenshin100, I haven't played a single match against anyone here.

All of you new people, my id=playerone (add me!!). I don't have MSN, but you can pm me anytime you want to schedule a match.

I just got the game today and I tried playing online, it's really fun and surprisingly tense. However my first match was against some players who starting lobbing every single shot. I do know how I should handle them by taking the ball on rise and angled but I play without Motion+ so timing on my swing is everything, and with lag it doesn't always work.

None the less, playing a lobber was annoying. I much prefer the baselining to be honest.

Might take me a while to get my character developed.

I would actually be happy if the coverage of a player at the net was reduced, at the moment it seems like the can cover so much. It would add a lot more risk to charging the net but it would be still viable to move in after a good serve or a good approach shot.

Played a bit more today, there are the usually net chargers who I just quit, I lose points for it but granted I most likely won't win I save myself from a boring match.

I played some who are willing to baseline on my services game but still only charge the net on their own services games. When times got desperate though they starting all sorts of things, dropshotting, net charging. I've still yet to meet a player who stays faithful at the baseline like me.

It seems like you don't actually get punished when choosing a style, what difference does being offensive baseliner and defensive baseliner make? Does offensive create better angles more easily? Does defensive retrieve shots more easily? Serve and Volley, do these toons receive a bonus to their serving and volleying abilities?

It seems to me every toons is capable of everything, a S&V toon seems to be able to hang in baseline rallies with baseliners, and baseliners can equally well charge the net. It really seems like this to me.

Hi guys .. first post. Glad to read these posts and generally feel the same. I've only played 8 games online and noticed most seem to use the nunchuck (how else can they move so fast!). How about here? I prefer to play others without it being used at all. I use only my created player, 5 star, gold speed, hustle shoes and I look like I'm walking in comparison to some. Seems the nunchuck gives an unfair advantage whether someone camps mid-court or not .. movement is just un-naturally fast.

Please add me: JMelvin

Thanks

Thanks for those games JMelvin. Don't be too disheartened, for someone new to online you're quite the established player. You hit some nice shots, didn't make that many errors. I didn't really read your previous post till after the 1st set but I took the nunchuck out in that 2nd set. It definitely changed the dynamics.
