I play in singleplayer mode and it rocks balls however it seems like when i join a multiplayer game i will be able to play for a couple seconds and BAM it kicks me out its very depressing since that is why i got the game mostly to play online.

Your problem Matt is most likely coming from either your processor or your external Hard Drive. Or it could be a mix of both. I have heard that AMD notebook processors aren't really up to snuff compared to their desktop counterparts. Also, as you can see from your screenshot, AMD and Intel processors are not equal. This is why you see an Intel Core 2 Dou requirement of 1.8Ghz, and an AMD X2 requirement of 2.4Ghz. So since you are running an AMD processor, you would need a 2.4Ghz+ AMD to meet the requirements which you do not @ 1.9Ghz. Im sure the 500Mhz difference in the required specs is probably where your problem is coming from.

Also, running a game via a USB drive could pose a problem too, since your load times are going to drastically increase. Your connection is most likely timing out while the other players are waiting for you to load the track.
That wouldn't happen in single player mode because nobody is waiting on you.

just my 2cents anyway. Good luck.

Is there a problem with i7s running this game? I have a 1.6 GHz i7, which is apparently within the system requirements, but NFSHP runs appallingly slow, even on minimum graphics settings. Can anyone help me? I made a thread about it, but I'm not getting a lot of headway there.

i have the following hardware on my personal computer

Athlon x2 5600 2.9 GHz
4 Gb ddr2
Saphire 5770 10242MB gddr5
Win 7 64bit
80GB free space on my hard drive.

CPU usage hit 60-70 degrees when i am playing NFS Hot Pursuit.
CPU gets so hard that it reboot on my first try. It is now more stable after i blow the 120MM fan towards my CPU.
why is this so ?
should i replace my heatsink or upgrade my CPU ?

Hey

could it be, that Hot Pursuit doesn't run on the X1000 Series except the X1950 from AMD/ATI ?

Here my PCs I tested:
1.) C2D E6550 2x2,33 Ghz, 4GB Ram, X1900XT 512 MB, Win XP & Win7 --- should handle the game performance wise but it crashes before it really starts under both Windows Versions
2.) Turion X2 TL 56 2x1,8 Ghz, 2 GB Ram, Geforce 7600 Go 256 MB, Win 7 --- even under 800x600 its not really playable
3.) Core i7 720 4x1,6 Ghz, 4 GB Ram, GT 230M 512 MB, Win 7 --- runs smoothly

The game only runs under the 3rd Machine good, but thats the laptop of my brother, i want to play the game, why i can't?
Should i flash my X1900XT to the nearly same X1950 that i can run it, because the X1950 is under the minumum PC Specs? LOL need help

I´ve got an issue regarding Need for Speed Hot Pursuit .
When I run the install on my laptop it works fine, but when I turn to my desktop, it only moves the green install bar a few inches into the process and then it just locks. My desktop is way better than my laptop. So I don´t get it

It shouldn't matter too much for a racing game, because you really should be playing using an Xbox 360 controller anyway. Of course, I'm sure we'll have custom resolution and graphics settings.

Its not primarily the controller who would be the problem. The biggest issue is that consoles and PC have a quite big difference in their system specifications. Consoles put cpu preformance before gpu preformance while pc systems usually do the opposite. (further explanation not required in this thread...) Therefor it takes A LOT of PC performance to run games such as GTA IV. its not because pc's are worse (Infact PC's are more powerful), but because the games engine is adapted for console system specification.
