This will make 2 years in a row that there wont be an EA NHL game on a Nintendo system.
I'm borrowing my brother's Gamecube and was disappointed to find out that the latest EA NHL game was NHL 06.
It looks like I'll either have to buy NHL 08 for my PC (always sketchy business because all PCs are different) or buy myself a PS2.

Won't be seeing many hockey games on Wii, it's just not worth publishing it for that console, and the mechanics are just all wrong.

well, i previosly posted controls, but someone else mentioned no movement, just use the buttons on the wii remote. it cant be that hard that way. i know im not the only one gettin pissed by this fact. im just happy i have my PS2 and PC

Has anyone got the stats on Madden 07 Wii?

From what I've heard, its cool at first, but something they wouldn't pick over the normal versions of Madden.

Madden and Tigers Woods is the only EA Sports Wii game, so NHL may not get it's chance for a while. Depends how things go.

I don't agree... I don't see any direct correlation between console sales figures and nhl game sales figures...

now if the nhl game on the wii was to be 1/5 the cost of the ps3 game you may see a sales boon...

nhl just isn't that popular

and wii sales are deceiving...$250 vs twice or more the cost for a ps3?

I don't need Wii controls for my NHL game, Wii has Classic controller and Gamecube controller support too.

Give me NHL 08 game for Wii, so I can stop playing NHL 06 Gamecube version with old teams. That sucks, especially because PS2 gets NHL games every year and Wii could have even better looking versions than those are.

It is clear that Wii will be the most popular console of this generation. So in business sense, NHL 08 for Wii is a no brainer. Wii controls don't fit to NHL 08 game? Don't use them then!

nintendo comes out with consoles to often and i think their tired of having to completely change their game and not be able to work on the new aspects of the game



they ight just follow batllefronts steps and just not make the game

id be pretty worn out to if i had to remake the game every 2 years

i think thats also why i wont buy the wii cause when u buy it it seems like they come out with another consol the next day

Considering that Nintendo only comes out with new console (not hand held) in every 5 years or so just like Sony for example, your argument is somewhat lacking.


It is Microsoft at the moment who have shortest time between the release of two consoles, they even now came up with upgraded Xbox 360.


Few points that EA should consider:


1. Porting NHL 08 to Wii is no big deal. Only if you use Wii specific controls, not if you use the same control method with Wii version than with every other console. Which is perfectly fine, controls are not only reason why people buy so many Wii's.


2. Soon Wii will have the largest owner base from next-gen consoles, only matter of time when Wii sales will surpass the Xbox 360 sales that was released year earlier than the Wii. PS3 sales has been so dismal that I don't even want to mention it.


3. No NHL game for Nintendo consoles since 06 is a travesty. I'm not getting multiple consoles because just one game series I like is absent from that platform. But I'm probably not the only person who thinks that there is something wrong when your newest NHL game has Mario Lemieux instead of Sidney Crosby playing in it.

now we could argue all day but what i ment is they have to change the game and thats not the case for the 360 elite

Chance the game how? All they need to do is to take the PS2 version of the game and port it to Wii, with better graphics. Not like they haven't done that before with pretty much every other sports series EA has.

I'm not asking for Wii specific version that has its own graphics engine designed to use all the power of Wii, and it's specific controls. Simple port is ok for first try, because basically all I want now is a roster update. I'm getting atleast 3 different soccer games in near future for my Wii, but not one Hockey game which is a shame because Hockey is the best team sports on this planet.

And I don't see why owners of other console brands would be against this because it does not affect any of you.
