I had the same thing happen to me despite the fact that I did not begin another round or another tournament. There is a programming error, for sure. That said, you can play a few tournaments in the new year and jump to the QSchool quite quickly. When I played that tournament, I never closed the game between rounds. Problem solved, although it is a rather inelegant way to have to resolve the issue.
MAIN.crashrr1 wrote:I have a related question. I've been playing the EASports Tour and finished the second round of Q-School, (almost finished and ready to move up a level to the PGA Tour). I stopped playing last night after the first two rounds and when I went to resume the tournament today, it said I had skipped the last 4 rounds and I didn't qualify to move on and had to start a new year from scratch. What happened? It usually lets you pick upn a tournament where you left off. Is there some way to restore this to where I was?
Thanks

Is there a fix out yet for the skipped Q-School? I worked on the game slowly over a couple of months because that's what my schedule allows. I made it through the first 3 rounds of Q-School and was the current leader when I ran into the same issue as the others here.
I checked with support a few months ago and they said that there was no way to fix it at the time, so I quit playing the game. I decided today to go in and give it another try and I was going to just say "the heck with it" and move on to the next year in the game, but when I tried to play the next tournament the game came up with a message that said I was still currently engaged in a multiround tournament and that if I tee'd off I would lose my progress in the multiround.
So, which is it? Have I skipped the last three Q-School rounds, or am I still in the tourney but just can't figure out how to get it to load?
Any available options that will get me back to the status I've earned in this game? If I'm stuck with moving on I will be quite discouraged from purchasing another, more current, Tiger Woods Golf game from EA Sports.

... you've been caught by a glitch - the game says you're still in a tournament but there is no way for you to continue in the tournament because the game shows you as skipping the rounds ... when you start the next tourney, you need to accept the warning and move on ... in the future, follow the directions at the beginning of this thread to regularly back-up your profile ... also, when in a multi-round tournament, never exit the game between rounds - always start playing the next round (i.e. 1 hole) before exiting ... no one has ever reported the "skipped rounds" issue when they've done this ...

Oh, I could spend my life having this conversation - so, look, please try to understand before one of us dies. |

Thank you for taking the time to reply and thanks for the advice; I'll take it.

I cannot agree more - why not send out a free copy of TW09 for the PC (if it exists)? Here is my issue.... I have gone most of the way through Q school THREE TIMES only to have this junk happen so I got frustrated and started the FedEx Cup. I went through the first three weeks plus the first round of the final week, only to have this happen again. I have accumulated around 2.5million $ in earnings that are worthless if I can't move on and actually win something.
Do you want me to ever buy another copy of this game again? If so, please advise what the fix will be. I can't imagine that the 10 or so people you had QA'ing this game (as listed in the credits) never came across this issue so I have to believe that you knew this would happen.

I may have a solution for you! I had the same problem as others in this forum. After 2 rounds of the 6 session QC tournament, I exited, expecting to return later to finish the remaining rounds. When I returned later, the program determined that I had skipped the remaining rounds and would have to try again next year. Fortunately, however, I back up my files regularly and was able to find the prior (i.e., prior to the time I started the QC tournament) versions of the three files mentioned in the 1/28/08 post by UserDBaran (above). I restored those earlier files (overwrote the later versions), and I am now back in business. Lost the results of my first 2 rounds, but at least I don't have to go through another whole year. What a great relief. Hope this helps one or more of the others on this forum.

Something that bites me is :Sometimes in the middle of the round, the screen goes black and I get a message box saying that it had quit playing. Upon restart, 50% of the time you can't continue and the other half of the time it does.
Also, never did get to play against the "bosses" in the Rookie year because of this reason.

Please help
pga tour 08 on PC - XP
my User profile ( game face) now when i switch on (running in disc version) my user profile (game face) is missing, and i am now unable to continue playing. When going into pga tour folder in my documents, i can see my player (Geoff.plr) but when loading to the main menu splash screen my profile is missing. How can i get my profile back showing. I have noticed Geoff.aia is missing in the ability folder, could this be part of the problem.
Thanks Geoff

This does not work. I have several copies of my Tiger woods 08 folder and just recently reinstalled the game after a system upgrade. Copying over the files and directory mentioned in this post DO NOT work. Either the game will hang with a black screen and never load or (if I delete the confidence folder) the game will load but my SAVED profile will show up as empty (no career data, no avatar or default avatar, and zero's for all abilities). My backed up documents folder is in perfect condition (all three copies), and yet I cannot restore my previous career or player data (my attributes were all above 70, i owned alot of equipment, had alot of money, etc). Now I can get my old name to show up, but stats are gone, have to restart career, equipment is gone, and I have the default 10,000 dollars of a new profile). Why wont this game recognise my old save directory (I have all files) and if I copy them over a fresh installs newly created directory (in My Documents folder), most of the data is wrong or missing? I've checked EVERY thread going back to 2008 and nobody seems to have answered this? My graphics card is definately good enough (the game plays fine on very high detail if I start a new career with a new profile), I just can't get my profile backups to load properly.
Anybody?
I would love to play this game (it is one of my favorites, which is why I have 3 seperate backups of the save folder), but I don't want to have to recreate my profile, build all my abilities again, win 3 years of tournaments, just to find out that I can't reliably restore my progress after a system crash or reinstall.
Is there actually a way to restore my progress or has EA left me out in the cold with a bugged game (again) with no plans to address what would seem to be a simple issue for them to fix? The joke seems to be on us, especially since there is actually a thread titled "Save your progress" but the procedure for doing so actually doesn't work. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
And for those of you that want to question my rig or my ability to follow directions, ask what you want, and I gaurantee that I have done all of this properly. One of my backups is even burned to cd, therefore file corruption is not an issue since it's read only and was working fine when it was originally backed up.
Any help would be appreciated (although I will not hold my breath). Come on EA, prove me wrong and address this.
