In NBA LIVE 10, we have the ability to assign specific shot arc types to individual players with the goal to have every player in the NBA with their signature shot arc. If you have any feedback, video reference or recommendations on shot arcs for specific players, please post in this thread!

Thanks guys,
Marcus

by saying every player in the nba, do you mean every single player or just the superstars?

a feature like this should be an automatic inclusion. there is no need to advertise something like this. i guess the back of the box of nba live 10 will read on the first column:

"NEW TO NBA LIVE 10: CUSTOM SHOT ARCS and Using the Glass, take your game to a new level!"

(AKA, we just included a feature in our game that 2k has used for years.)

please go get a life and go watch some nba basketball games. die-hard nba fans will not buy this disgrace of an nba video game. for the past 8 years, you guys have just sat there letting 2k dominate. nba 2k has been the number one nba videogame ever since based on reviews and opinion.

did I say it was a major feature? It was announced to give you guys (the community) the opportunity to feedback into something we're doing. Should it have been in in years past? Absolutely, but that's the past and I can't speak for that.

What about the arcs for the floaters or tear drops. Were there any changes to that? As well performing Euro Steps to execute a shot?

eurosteps are in the game this year (see Tony Parker)

As for arcs and floaters on tear drops, this thread isn't for that. this is for jump shot arcs.

Live has to become a better game for my purchase. Players move unrealistically, shot unrealistically, dibble, pass, do just about everything unrealistically. Plus there's two different shooting buttons (somehow players shoot better from 3 with the dunk button than the shot button). Defense is either none existent or too tough. The game even looks bad. If it wasn't for Dunk contest I wouldn't consider it a basketball game. The next gen started 3 years ago yet I feel like the past couple of lives belong on PS2 or X-box, even the gamecube can handle these week games. live has to evolve. Add feature that give players weight in the air; I'm tired off a 6'4" guy yamming on a 7' footer with little or no hindrance. And while we are talking about dunks change those week animations that come straight out of the 90's. switch shooting to the right analog and use a "Skate" the video game style movement that allow you to assign different dunks to different movements i.e down to gather then a circle motion for 360 dunks that is direction specific or down and hold up for a tomahawk. Lay-ups can be down and then release also direction specific. I mean there's an endless number of tweaks you could add to the gameplay that would make it top notch.

Hey emaay...appreciate your feedback though this thread is to chat about Signature Shot Arc Types. Feel free to chat about your thoughts on dunking in the feedback section. Thanks!

hi there, just read the new info about live... and it seems going to be really good, nice thoughts for creating more realistic *** arcs, cause in live 09 all shots where the same, so i will leave you with some videos that show clearly some players shooting style (hoping to help you as much)...

1)
(wade usually shoots with really low arc)

2)
(you see vince shooting with medium arc, and mostly deep 3s)

3)
(james mostly shoots with high arc, and really deep 3s)

4)
(most jumpers on the video are on medium-high arc by melo)

of course there are hundreds more players, i am just giving my little help...

People let's keep this thread on the same topic about shooting arc in the game. I know there's a lot to talk about when it comes to different things that doesn't regard shooting arcs. Please make that in a different thread to talk about it.

As for some of you that wants to show a video as an explanation. Only post 3 videos... Do not go over 3 videos because that will be a massive overflow on a thread.

Thanks.

Sorry if I am off subject I didn't see any were else to ask. But, will there also be signature shots (for all players)and signature dribble styles in Live 2010? If this is the wrong place to ask can someone guide me to the correct place to ask this question? Again I am sorry if I am in the wrong spot.

Dribbling style will be in the game. That was already answered by Marcus Stephenson. They want to know about the shooting style of different arcs. Like LeBron shoots a high angle ***, and like Chris Paul medium arc like shooting style.

Julian Wright of the New Orleans Hornets has a low arc.

I like the idea that you guys are going to have each player shoot the way they do in real life. NBA Live is a great game but, the only thing you guys DEFINITELY need to add is real - life fan action, when I shoot a big three, I wanna hear those fans scream their lungs out just like they do in real life, I mean for example, look at the fans in 2K9, I think NBA Live is way better than 2K. Also, The Commentators, have them say new things and not just repeated stuff from the previous NBA Live series. When I think of new stuff, I'll write back.

People please stay on the subject, and do not post anything that's off topic. This is your chance to talk to one of the Development Team members from the NBA LIVE Department. He's wondering about the shooting arc signatures. Please stay on the subject.

Thanks.
