Rare Freeze issue - Updated 7-9 8:30 PM

I had an arcade that was replaced after the RRoD.

I played Tiger Woods 10 first, then tried Fight Night.

Fight Night continues to freeze, and I DO NOT have any custom soundtracks.

I also only have the 20GB.

I already tried clearing the cache, still can't get past the loading screen.

nothing seems to fix this problem for me... it has a few times made it to training but when i try to skip it locks up again... the only music i have on my drive would be from Rock Band and i dont think that's my problem because i have a 2nd drive same size 20gig that i ran the system format on and started fresh with new gamer tag and all.. still locks up..

i had the demo for a week or two played fine until i got tiger woods 10 (which is doing the exact same thing as FN4 is) after trying to load TW a few times the demo then began to lock up as well... All other games seem to be fine.. no lock ups at all...

150$ plus in 2 new games that i have yet to play... makes you really want to run out and get a few more titles from EA... oh wait... not like you have much of a choice on that anyways.. LOL

right now ive found my saved playlist and deleted it all, Now it plays without unplugging the wireless device so yeah its all good for me now, Just carnt use any custom tracks thats all which aint a problem really but I understand theres still a few that still have issues so it still needs fixing A.S.A.P and by the looks of some posts by EA they are currently working on it, Presumably theyd want it fixed for release.

Good thing it's a "rare" freeze issue.

I don't have the 120G. I have a 20gig and was playing it fine last night when it came in the mail. Now it wont get past the start screen (IE start never appears at the fight night logo). No custom tracks either. This is crap.

I bet it has something to do with the games connecting to EA servers for all the online stuff.

What time and date did this occur? - every time starting today. Worked yesterday.

Do you have other games that freeze on the machine? - nope

Troubleshooting - Freeze at the first screen. I can actually hit the dashboard button and return to the NXE..

Where does the locking up occur? Title? Menu? Gameplay? - First Screen ( every time )

Does it always lock up at the same spot? - yes

Does disconnecting the network cable help? - haven't tried yet.

Does it still lock up without a profile signed in? - haven't tried yet.

X360 users who are having the freeze on the title screen try to transfer their custom music to a mem card and deleting them off their HDD? This seems to help that issue.

i had this problem with the demo and now the retail version.this should have been fixed before the full relese

The thing is, I don't have any custom music on my Xbox at all. There are no MP3s on my HD (unless they came on it pre-installed). I don't think that is what is causing this issue manly because I have the freezing issue and don't have custom music.

I also have no music at all installed on my HD and am having the problem. The only thing that helps for me is unplugging my wireless adapter. The problem is that when I plug it back in my Xbox doesn't recognize it..the light doesn't even come on(this is a MS wireless adapter). In order to get the adapter working again I have to go through this whole process..which I have to do outside the game, so if I want to play the game I gotta start all this over. I'm sure that's a problem with the adapter and not the game as far as my Xbox not recognizing it when I plug it back in, but the point is I shouldn't have to go through this. This should definitely have been fixed prior to release. It has never happened with any other game I've owned in the 3 years I've had an Xbox. Please fix and patch quickly!

Do any of you stream music from pc? If so just turn off your computer....

This is what I did.....

I deleted all my music from my HDD.... not much just bout 1G

I reset all my customized play lists on NHL 09 to default.....Im talking every team in every league ( this goes for every game that allows you a custom play list).

I have a mac and I am using Itunes...I can stream music using a program called connect360 fom my Mac... I just turned off my computer.

After doing all this..the game finally worked...

HAHAHAHA!!! This is nearly identical to the Madden freezing issues I had earlier this year that were promised to be fixed and never were. Ridiculous.

I'm not removing my custom music from my system, that's absurd. I'm taking my game back to the store today and getting a refund. EA idiots. You knew this problem existed with the demo and still didn't fix it before the final version was released. Wow, that's f'ing lazy.

Actually, to be honest with you, deleting custom music DID work for me. It's such a relief, i've been dealing with this problem for so long. I might have been the first person on this board to get it, since I got it the second it was available for Gamestop pre-orders. What I'm curious about now is whether or not I'll be able to have custom music for FN....

I guess that makes sense for you in your situation, but for me, the last game I used custom music for was the first NCAA game that let you use it and I've sold that a long time ago, so it really doesn't matter to me. As long as I can play on my own HDD... This doesn't excuse EA from trying to fix it, though. And as someone pointed out, it's not as "Rare" as EA thinks...
