Things I like:
-The idea that everything, short of actually playing the game, can be done from a computer. Means I dont have to constantly be sitting in front of the console.
-Server based so that improvement can be made without serious patching.
Things to be improved:
-Lack of salary cap/player contracts.
-Lack of offseason mini camp.
-Amount of time between week advancing too long
-The inability to be fired/hired by a team, but I guess this depends on the number of users.
-Ability to import draft classes.
-CPU trade logic flawed. Too easy to get a lot for nothing.
-Trade acceptance/rejection w/ CPU not immediate.
-The inability to cancel a trade in the game screen, rather than having to go to a computer and cancel.
-Not having the message board accessible on the game screen, but just by computer.
-Lack of commissioner control, i.e.: Number of game replays allowed, ability to reset games, overrule unfair user trades, max time allowed per week, advance time length, actual "franchise start" option to allow users fair entry, etc.
To be honest I'm just happy to have an online franchise available. Considering this is the inaugural year, I can live with the idea that its not perfect...so long as history is made and a trend is continued.

Things I like
1. Fantasy Draft
2. Ability to manage your team from your pc
Things I dislike
1. No salary cap almost makes franchise not worth playing. The best thing about the NFL is the parity that was caused by the salary cap and leaving it out of offline franchise really hurts a teams ability to rebuild
2. Not being able to import my NCAA class from my online dynasty is a big let down
3. Not being able to schedule your friends for the regular season

Bottomline, Commish needs more control if this is to work effectively, similar to NCAA 2010 Dynasty Mode, here are some examples:
- The ability to throw out game results: I have people playing the cpu while I am trying to recruit coaches.
- The ability to turn a coach to autopilot, in NCAA 2010: If a coach does not show by the advanced week, then this feature will allow the coach who was trying to play to play vs the cpu.
- The ability to control roster changes and lock free agency pool: No matter what you tell your coaches to sign only one free agent, there is always someone who does not listen and goes overboard, which encourages others.
I've been playing Madden since 1990 (it has gotten me through 3 degrees, BS, MS, PhD) and 2001 (pc version) was the best with the franchise and league ability. For some strange reason it was removed in the next version and never returned. The gaming console for some strange reason is catching up to what the pc has been doing for over 7 years. For necessity purposes, I caved in and converted to the PS3, by buying M2K9. Honestly I really like the console game. However, in my opinion it is totally unacceptable to not take what was done on the pc version and convert it to the next gen gaming consoles. You are not totally starting from scratch.
With that said, if you fix the above issues with a patch for this version...NOT M2K11...then it will tie a lot of people over. Thanks for listening...Dr. Bulls

Massive's Thoughts:
Things I like about the Online Franchise Console Experience:
- That you guys implemented it
- Multiple seasons
- Nfl Draft with the owners at the end of season
- cell phone apps, and web base support
Things I think can be improved:
- The option to play franchise in "slow" game speed mode
- Preseason games, and preseason player progression- how else can we have offseason rookie position battles
- Team Salary caps, and player contracts
- Being able to trade for draft picks
- Being able to import NCAA 10 draft classes
- More franchise control for the commish... ie. awarding a win to someone who was cheese'd on
- also give commish the option to give a loss to someone who didn't show for their game
- Commish option to regulate free agent signing... you get the picture more commish control
The online franchise experience is a good start, and I can tell you guys really wanted to make this a special feature. But we do need to be able to choose what game speed we want to play the game at. I personally think the game speed is one of the more important things right now. Free agent signing, player contracts, and offseason free agent pools, even draft pick trading have pretty much been regulated by our league with the input of all team owners. Please try to fix the speed of online play, as I would like to enjoy the game at its default settings. Thank you, and I appreciate you guys hard work at making this the best madden possible.

things that need work is that there needs 2 be a salary cap for when u trade or sign free agents and the commissioner shouldnt have absolute power over trades if a commissioner wanted 2 he could supe up his team with superstars the should be a voting system when it comes 2 trades with player 2 player trades or player 2 cpu trades like they do in fantasy football leagues

- How on God's Green Earth did you guys not put an option for playing with the new "slow speed" into online Franchise Mode? All I've heard about is how great and realistic it is, and then I find out you can't play Online Franchise mode with it? With each and every day a new nail is put in the Madden 10 coffin.

things that can be improved:
Add difficulty sliders, playing on all madden in a online chise with some friends, we all took average teams (jets, dolphins, jags, bills, texans) All finished with winning records with the jets going 16-0 and dolphins 14-2 (only losing too jets who are user controlled) Bar the first couple of matches when people were new too the game most people are only really losing when playing another user controlled team. Once a solid team is built up playing the cpu on all madden is going too be too easy.
Salary cap is a must.
Sort out the DCs from the server, had at least 3 matches now when in the 4th quarter and beating the cpu that the franchise servers have gone down (had friends online at the same time who were also DCd) You have too either replay the whole match or sim ( we play 12min quarts 15 sec accelerated so matches take a while). Can you not implement somethign that saves where you was in the game and lets you replay from that point ?
Let people trade draft picks.
Give the commish more overall control on things, and take out the 30min wait period between simming, pretty pointless it being there as far as i can tell.
The online draft is terrible imo, it should be done the exact same way as the offline one with regards too scouting then not having all the stats available. In the offline draft i really liked how you could pick up a stud in the later rounds and also draft a complete flop in the earlier rounds if not scouted properly, Having all the stats available before the draft ruins this aspect imo.
Also i would like more time giving for the picks, 60seconds is nowhere near enough. Obviously if you have a 32man online chise a draft would take a long time if you have 3-5mins a pick but in reality i doubt most online chises are 32 man, a large amount will be between 4-12 people who have set it up with friends and having extra time for picks should be a option as should simming the cpu's drafts.

All-Madden is far too easy imo. Last night I put 40+ points past the NE Patriots with the HOU Texans- and that's playing genuinely, i.e. no abusing of certain plays. Proper NFL if you can call it that.
Yes, the CPU should get better as the years progress (with A potential players going up in overall), but so are the human controlled players. To be honest, I'm a little bored of playing the CPU - which isn't good.

Complained in a separate thread about this. Leading the CPU with 30 odd seconds on the clock (whilst having the ball), the game disconnects, and I have to replay it again. When we're using 12 minute Qs, this is a pain in the f****** backside. Games should be replayable.
In addition, it stops human controlled teams taking advantage by quitting their games, and replaying again.

The Online Draft is a pain. You can see the overall stats? Wow, that completely takes away the fun of the draft. I'd be happy to pay extra if it meant having the offline experience of Franchise drafts online. Please rethink this part of the game.
Couple of extra bits:
1. It would be immense being able to spectate games taking place in the Online Franchise, especially when you're on a bye week. Gets a bit boring otherwise.
2. Online Co-Op. The camera angles are awful. Improve on the camera angle and this could be playable.
3. 2v2 HUMAN games online. Still shocked that you can't do this.
4. Madden style Online Dressing Room. Would be a fantastic feature to implement into Madden 2010. If you don't know what Dressing Room is, check out Fifa 10 (another EA title). It's huge fun!

Just made the draft in a different franchise too find the draft is the exact same as my other franchise...
This is very very poor, having the exact same players for draft at the end of the first year each time ?
Is this a mistake or was it planned like this ?

- The Internet Access To The Leagues Is Great
- The Ability To Upload Replays Straight To The Net From Games
- Feels Alot Smoother Then Past Editions
Things I think can be improved:
- Draft Classes Should Be Able To Be Uploaded For Online Franchises
- Salary Caps, Contracts, and Player Holdout Should Be Added To Online Franchise Mode
- Inside Your Online Franchise You Should Be Able To Play Against Other Franchise Members Not On Your Schedule With Your Current Roster After You Make Trades How Do You Try Out Your New Players If You Can't Play Teams In The league That Your Not Scheduled To Play
- Make The Computer A Competitive General Manager So They Can Trade With Common Sense
- Lack of offseason mini camp. And The Fact That You Show The Draft Class Overall Ratings It Should Be A Gamble When You Draft You Should Have To Work Players Out, See What They Bench Press How Fast Their 40 Is Run them Thru Drills To See If You Like What You See...

Agreed It Should Be Random Names And Skills Every Single Time A Draft Class Is Needed Unless They Upgrade To The NCAA Draft Class Import

Ok 1st of all you gotta have contracts. If there are no contracts and no salary caps then it cant be a legit franchise. I read in a Q & A session before the game came out that if enough people posted in here about salary caps and other stuff then u guys would fix it. So hopefully u will. I also hope u allow us to import draft classes. Alot of people(not saying me) buy college football just to get the draft classes. so with the online franchise being a big thing this year we really couldnt wait to do it but its disappointing to see that we cant. You also should allow commisioners to approve or disapprove trades. People can just trade with their friends in the league and then drop once theyve given their whole team away and the commisioner cant do anything to stop it. So hopefully u fix that. Lastly please put in a bidding system for free agents. i understand to get this u would have to put in salary caps and contracts so this and my 1st topic go hand in hand. so i hope u fix these errors because if u do u would get few complaints from people

Game is too easy on the online franchise on All Madden - Need ability to Max out the difficulty like on my skill....through 14 games on offline franchise Steven Jackson has 1550 yards, Leonard Little has 13 Sacks <---- realistic .....through 5 games on online franchise i have 1170 yards with jackson and 15!!! sacks with Little...im sorry but that is too easy to be fun. - its the same for all other peeps on the franchise(on all madden).
Depth Charts on online franchise are wack! lol Redskins haynesworth wasnt even on the pitch...center at tackle etc etc.
No more Holding penaltys on field goals please.
im not begging for injurys but it may be nice to have a few couple of week type injurys so i can play my rookies etc in my franchise.

Things I like
1. Being in able to talk through the headset in the lobby of the Online Franchise - This is sweet. I was in a party the other day and then I backed out and I was just sitting in the lobby of my online franchise. My TV was on mute. Then all the sudden I start hearing music through my headset. I double checked to make sure I was out of the party and wasn't in a private chat, and I didn't know WTF was going on. I thought I was going crazy. I started talking, and it turns out someone else was sitting there too. He was the one playing music at his house and seemed just as stunned to hear me. It was cool. Can you have 32 people in the lobby talking? That would be nuts. How come I never heard of this before? Did you guys ever state this to the public? Or did I just miss it?
2. The fantasy draft/rookie draft/draft boards. Much better than that crap draft you had last year.
[u]Things I don't Like[/b]
1. [u]No Scouting in OF/Being able to see Rookie overall Ratings in Online Rookie Draft but not there potential./[u] it makes drafting in the later rounds completely random. I know it was random before but in the 6th round there are players who turn out to be 57 overall but have a B potential. Now you know your getting a 57, but its totally random. He could have an F potential. Why the hell would I want to draft him?
2. [b]Commisioner not having to approve trades.
3. Allow us to turn the fumble game off Don't knwo if this is possible in the current build.
