Is this a problem caused by bad code or just a normal system failure? We will soon find out as others experience this issue. Between EA and Sony , someone should repair my console for free. This is unacceptable.

happens to me as well on my xbox360 elite. it seems to be a problem with writing data to the hard drive. I can duplicate this freezing error on both EA NCAA 10 and EA Madden 10. Right now the only way i can play these two games is if I unplug and detach the hard drive unit.

Thank god it isn't just me. I honestly thought my system was jacking up. Yeah, everytime I go into the Online Menu, I am scared it is going to freeze. It has frozen in the Online Menu and Online Franchise Menu like 10 times now. The first game I ever played, the opening kicker had pink shoulders where the textures didn't load correctly, that was like the first thing I saw in Madden 10.


Now I am seeing every now and then during gameplay where you get textures running from the guys jersey like towards the stands or something. Almost looks like he has a spear or stick sticking out of him. Very similar to the same issues in NCAA 10.


Finally, I am absolutely rolling on the floor laughing everytime I watch a tutorial video or any of the videos that play during the menus. Couldn't they record like 10 minutes of footage of the PS3 version? Heck, when they are telling you on the PS3 how to set up your Franchise, it shows a video and right there on the video it says XBOX Live where it normally says Online on the PS3 version. Also, all the buttons are XBox Buttons. They obviously took more time with the 360 version since all the menu freezes seem to be a PS3 Exclusive. I cannot believe with all of EA's Money and Power that they could not record like a few minutes of PS3 footage for the PS3 version of the game.

I've had a small problem with the xbox freezing. But if I just wait it out it usually last no more than a minute. And sometime on online games it will freeze up between plays for like 20 seconds in the tackle animation. But never had to reboot and never have been kicked so I guess thats good. Hope they know about this problem and are working on it because I am truly enjoying playing the game online and off.

mine is freezing also. I had an old xbox with previous problems. I played it for a month striahgt playing Fifa 08 and forza 2. I bought madden 10 friday, and it froze my xbox up and i got RRoD like 3 different times. I decided to send it in for a fix to Microsoft and buy a new one. I goto walmart and get a brand new one, and had no trouble for about 3-4 hours of playing madden 10. before bed i played the mini-game RB/QB challenge and the game froze up during a simple run play.

This is NOT a system problem. BRAND NEW XBOX and NEW GAME. something HAS TO be done. Update the game ASAP.

mine freezing in game all the time....ill go to hand off..or recieve a kick off...and just as im about to run with the ball...it freezes for like 10 seconds..then just resumes like nothing happened...its really fr*ggin annoyin

Mine freezes online. I remember last year they had a issue where if you had different camera views than your online opponent and someone made a challenge, the game would lock up because it conflicted itself. Well walaa I was playing a game this year and my opponent made a challenge after a failed 4th down conversion. The game locked up just as soon as the camera view switched to showing the refs checking out the challenge. Im guessing same s*** diff day...

There's a known issue where backing out of online menus really quickly can cause the game to lock up, although it generally works itself out within about 30 seconds. This is something that should be addressed in an update, but slowly backing out of the menus instead of tapping B really quickly is a good workaround for now.

That is for in the online menus only. If you're experiencing a lock up somewhere else in the game, it could be for a variety of reasons. Don't hesitate to visit support.ea.com or call customer support using the phone number of the back of your manual.

Yes the screen froze on me this morning for no more than 2 minutes, and then it started to work again.

Mine freezes up in offline franchise during games. I have a ps3. Has anyone heard about what es is doing about this?

My first few games in franchise mode were fine, but now the game locks up at least 3 or 4 times a game. Sometimes it takes up to a minute before it gets back on track. As someone else mentioned, the audio also goes out. I'm playing on a PS3 and all of my other games have been absolutely fine. As a matter of fact, the only games to really freeze up my system are EA games. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one with the problem though. Hopefully it can be addressed.

Guess PS2 remains best for franchise

I am already out $750 for a $600 launch unit and a $150 refurb and it is only August 2009. Has any one else been thru this because I am reading some real horror stories about Sony customer service. This is just WRONG!!! They should take care of this widely known problem for me for free as they have done for others who were just out of warranty. Are they telling me that their refurbished console with a measly 90 day warranty is only good for 5 months?

You dont need to send it back if its not reading the operating system, all you have to do is take the HDD out and reformat it using a SATA 2.5 enclosure. I had the same problem I just took the drive out and formatted it with the FAT32 file system and then as soon as you put it back in the PS3 the file system will load again, only bad thing is you ll lose any games or data you have stsored on the HDD
