I know I can run a lot of other games no problem, ran Bf2 and 2142 on high graphics still can run 2142 just fine, after 1.5 install bf2 is now having issues

CTD ,CTD, CTD every time i click join game. EA do u have an ANSWER or a FIX ????????
Sucks like a few post above me has said I'm the only one in my clan experiencing this .

I guess I can put my system specs in here, maybe its a driver issue
Core I7 920
asus p6t v2
evga 260 gtx X2 latest drivers
X-fi sound card
running dual monitors

Just tried call of duty WAW and it plays great.

Ok, I think I'm getting a bit confused here, this thread was started about the VOIP EAX problem causing crash-to-desktop. Is that what everyone here is posting about? If not, you need to post a new thread, or read the others such as the multi-core cpu fix and others. But please keep this thread clean if you don't have the same problem that raoulie has.

Sorry raoulie, everyone saw Crash to Desktop and decided to post here instead of the stickied thread up top. As for the VOIP problem, like I said the only way I got around that problem was to uninstall/reinstall.

Having the same problem here as redrum881. Everything is fine until I click Join server, then CTD. I have tried all the audio options (EAX & Voip) plus reinstalled and nothing works; Multiplayer just crashes when i try and join ANY server, New or Old.

make sure you update pbsetup, then select BF2 directory and you should see it download files and apply, takes a few seconds. If that doesn't happen, you are not updated pb on your pc. i did that and it stopped my CTD every time I loaded a map.
if that ain't it..yes..probably driver issue..? open ticket with EA.

confirm and POST HERE if it fixes your problem so others know, the pbsetup isn't just running pbsetup.exe..you have to do a couple clicks...it's really not that intuitive to select the app and download the update for BF2 using pbsetup.exe

It doesn't appear to be a PB issue, as yes My punk buster is up to date for BF2.
I just wish it through an error code or something when it crashes. It suck's having no input.

I,m using WIndows 7 but Vista should be the same...

i had an issue where my game would minimize after joining game and selecting spawn point !!
and since bf2 dont seem to like tabbing out with this new patch when i selected the bf2 icon in the tray i would get a black screen,

Was able to fix my minimize bug by doing the following

Right click on a BF2 shortcut and select properties
there is a tab in the screen that opens that is named "Compatibility".
check "Disable Visual Themes".
check "Disable Desktop Composition".

still cant alt n tab with new patch but at least i'm able to play now, hope this is of sume help to u all....

PROBLEM SOLVED.

It would appear the new patch set the compatibility mode at 95.

I am using XP sp3 and I am NOW PLAYING BF2 v1.50 and its SWEET @ the Pearl.


all I did was right click on the desk top icon for BF2, then I went to compatibility, and the box was checked for 95 compatibility; So I unchecked it and now shes a gooer ;D
