Hello VancouverBlade

First of all, I wanted to thank the whole team (incluiding you) for answering some doubts about the bugs shift has been experiencing. It's really nice to see that you guys are actually working on this to fix the problems that the game has.

Second thing: I'd like to add to the list that there's a random hang during loading screens, in which you need to close the program via task manager and it happens even with Windows 98 compatibility mode. The OS that this is showing up is on Win 7 64bits. We have tried updating PhysX drivers as you recommended and other maitenance operations but it still keeps hanging randomly. I've been looking myself and when this happens, there seems that the CPU actually goes to 0% of usage, which worries me. You can still hear the loading tune but the game doesn't respond.

Finally, there seems to be "bug" with the mirror drawing distance on both Nvidia and ATi cards. If we all remember, the mirrors on interior view should reflect everything, but in this case, it is not doing it. Maybe it's a hardware limitation, but we tested with 5 computers every single of them with GTX200 series and is still happening. The effect is the distance "eating" the objects that were represented, creating an irrealistic and nasty effect which surely distracts many players.

With best regards, hoping that the team will fix the problems and also be taken into consideration

i've made a video of this exact bug.

VancouverBlade not to say it is MUCH of a problem but figured I would point it out. Watch the video and at 25Seconds look at the video... The 'Vette tail-lights, the left side. They are glaring THRU the flag person behind the persons car. Just thought I would point it out atleast.

And on a side note (even tho I am gonna prolly get burned for this). I got a quick question. When I change the compatibility to anything other Vista (native OS) it hangs on the very first loading screen it hangs up like 3/4's the way thru. I have actually managed to get it so it was like ALMOST there but it just sits there. Never got an error of any kind what-so-ever. I have actually left it that way for 15-20mins and still got no where closer. Any idea what could cause that?

Thrice happened now...

Lotus Elise (works)... fiddled with tuning settings for a longer 4-6 gear ratio. Start race, a few seconds retart race again. I lost the gear settings.

Thanks for the news good to hear somebody from the Dev. team spokesperson. May I please request one thing: Could you in a near future patch add a "Mirror/Copy" option of vinyls so that I could mirror one side to the other? Also some better options for the vinyls in general. It's very difficult to make my own designs with the current capabilities of the editor. Nearly impossible.

I totally agree with the mirror option in vinyl editor, also VB could you have a look at making the joypads less sensitive please. Im having to tap the stick round corners it doesnt feel natural, and hurts after awhile lol, with steering sensitivity at 0%

But yeah thanks for the support team, maybe EA are waking up.

Hi,

I would like EA take it seriously. If not many customers as me that now have joined NFS may leave it. I hope that issues as overtaking (undertaking) be solved... it's not serious to hit a car and launch it to the air... it's not seriousto don't feel ground effect and adherence (to get a sim experience it's basic to feel the level of adherence with the road) , damage... please real damageeeee!!!! if I hit a wall to 90kms/h my car should not continue. Please in online mode penalize those user with are erratic and hit others!!!! Setups... please let us setup cars after racing, please let us save our setups, please please... so much please???? just do it!!!!!

Some tracks have grass inside the track... CHECK IT!!!!!!

I know now some people have functional issues.... Solve it but don't forget that driving experience it's more than a nice cockpit. It's to feel that if you drive to ahrd your car wont last till the en of race, your wheels will be dammaged and you'll lose grip, your engine will break down if your are to the revs limit all the time, your breaks may become unresponsive if you are braking and braking to the 100%, etc, etc.... And if finally you open boxessss wuao!!!!

Copy the good of others and add your own touch as graphics and cockpit experience. For me physics have potential but for me now SHIFT it's not a driving experience it's just a cockpit experience. Do not lie us in your TV spots. For now you got the cockpit but you must to revise the rest....

Thanks, B.

VancouverBlade,

Thanks for the response. It's always good to get a nod off the devs about the issues and there are PLENTY of issues with this game at the moment on all platforms. I'm sure most players will appreciate the patching process takes a little time to work through to release; as long as the fixes materialise over the next few weeks, I don't think too much damage will have been done on the PR side.

Get the "bouncing", frame-rate drops and tuning anomalies sorted out (especially for PS3 please!) and you're well on the way to a game that will hold its own to any of the current competitors. Cockpit view is the best there is.

We have to investigate the issues, figure out what's causing them and then create the patch. Once this has been created it has to go to Sony/Microsoft for testing. This process normally takes a week to ten days and then once they've approved the fix is pushed live.

As soon as I get more news I'll make sure to update this thread.

So why then does it look like they have not taken the time it takes before releasing the game? Of course you can't be perfect, but with this amount of (sometimes such obvious and serious) bugs, it seems like there was no quality control at all. We all have bought this game because we want to play and not beta-test it.
