I downloaded the 1.2 patch 4 times last night - from EA plus 3 other sites - each time while applying the patch it failed. Something about the file could not be found - I think this happened after it extracted and tried to run the update.

I have downloaded it 5 more times from EA and 4 other sites and will take it home later and try to install it.

At 50+ min's per DL this is a real waste of time.

OK, now after downloading this patch 9 times now what the hell do I do?

Windows installer message is

"This package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package."

EA wrote this thing, why can't I get it to work?

Something stupid on my part? I can't think of what.

HELP! EA

I updated but now can not log on to any games. I get a "Unable to connect, game version differs from server." message every time. How do I fix this?

"Error 1334.the file" _b74f906c72914dfa9a3899ee202b6b16' cannot be installed becuase the file cannot be in cabinet file 'PCW_CAB_family2'. this could indicate a network error, an error reading fron the cd-rom or a probem in file"

Is the same error Im reciving.

I currenlty have the EA Download edition of the game:
Current ver: 1.1.1.5767

I belive that Ver 2.1 is supposed to read as :: 1.1.1.6115

I have tried using the Crysis_Patch_1_2.exe from within the root dir. of Crysis.

Any help would be awsome!

i cant believe ea hasnt responded to this, what a joke, i have had nothing but problems with bf2 game play and now this?!!! get ur head out of ur azzes and help ur customers out before u just put a game out that has so many issues and bugs, i cant even install the 1.2 patch, i have a 2000 dollar machine including a q 6600 clocked at 3.7 and a 9800 gx2, 4 gbs of pc 8500 ram on a asus mb maximus formula, and i play 2 games, this one and bf2 and both are pieces of crap with no help coming from electronic arts

so1is i was getting the EXACT same error message so i did a repair on my crysis installation and was able to install the new patch after that.

I had this issue as well. What I ended up doing was uninstalling Crysis, saving the profile/saved games, reinstalled Crysis then immediately installed the patch. This method worked for me.

Ever since I installed patch 1.2 (& 1.21) my graphics response decreased. Explosions or cut scenes with lots of action now slow the game down dramatically. I didn't have this problem prior to install. Anybody?

Ok ive tried many different websites to download this v1.2 crysis patch and, it takes 5-10 mins or whatever first, then it asks me if i want to Run the installer or Dont Run, of course i clicked Run and then the Window comes up saying "Welcome to the InstallSheild Wizard for Crysis" But then a little mini pop up comes up saying "This hotfix requires Crysis to be patched to v1.2 before it can be applied." So i click ok and then it tells me that the patch was not completed like it said.

So its confusing when my version of Crysis right now is v1.1.1.6 and im just trying to download the v1.2 patch but it stops and says it needs to be patched to 1.2 before it can be applied, but thats what im trying to download??? Its very weird? ? ? Any help ideas. Please help

OK so i had the same problem, i uninstalled crysis, restarted my comp, reinstalled crysis, deleted all temporary files and then downloaded and installed patch 1.2 and it worked.

found a work around tho ^_^

look in your windows temp dir ( "Windows install drive"/documents and settungs/"user name"/temp ) then look for "crysis_patch_1_2.msp" you could also just search your comp for it.

Run this .msp file and you should then be able to install the 1.2 patch with out issue. i think EA might not have tested the installer properly. Would be much simpler if Software Devs just relaesed MSI/MSP files for patches, you should have no issues with the Patch EXE not working and these files are fully compatable with all vers of XP and Vista.

Crysis was running beautifully before I installed the patch. I installed it just before I entered the mine. From that point on, no one would shoot back at me, and after I beat down the general, the game did not advance. Also, all the Hummers were missing their rear wheels. No matter what earlier level I loaded, the issues would not go away. I uninstalled, keeping the saved games, and re-installed. Now the Hummers had their wheels, but no one would shoot at me. I have just completely removed Crysis and all Crysis files from my computer and re-installed. I'll have to fight my way back to the mine.
This patch absolutely blows, and I advise you not to use it.

i got my crysis in the post today and installed it. before pressing finish there was a tick box for Check for updates. ok so i do and it brings up the webpage for crysis. enter you age it says. i am 30 years old but by accident i press 2008. so it says sorry you are too young. duh! i refresh to enter again ... no i am too young. ok so i go to the site main page and i register for ea games with my correct info. go for my local republic of ireland site and search: crysis patches... find 3 they are around 150mb 300mb and 35mb so i go for the first one at 150mb. i get 29kb/s dial up speed it says this one alone will be 1 hour and 40 minutes. ok so i go do something ... it freezes at 2% ok so i go for support. find nothing so go for contact... write all this in and press send. oh i must enter the product... no box for it ie: it says i must enter info of what product to send the message but the place to enter it isnt there. well forget that and go play the game for a while... so played enough for now and return to find the patches (they say there is security leaks and stuff so its important right) wrong. it has saved my address and although it has me permanently logged in it still insists i was born in 2008 (yesterday mebbe?) so i search the internet for a patch download and the only site i recognise is gamershell and the last time i went there they inserted tracking cookies on my computer. anyway long story but this is the post for tech help relating to patch 1.2 being available. please sort your site out. being permanently blocked for entering the wrong number leaves me a bit short. in fairness i cant remember how old i was when i knew that entering a false year would make me appear over 18 and i cant remember having a program for my computer that entering the wrong age would permanently prevent me from recieving security updates (as well as whatever else the updates are for they are pretty hefty). this age thing is only encouraging young kids to lie about their age. shame on you. and btw i have clicked this ftp link you left and although it started by saying 300KB/s it has dwindled away to nothing and in my experience these drag out for a few hours and stop.

i would like to see the next crysis or other info on the site pls sort out the rubbish age thing or after all i will just go see it elsewhere or go do something else. it should say "sorry people born in 2008 arent capable of entering that information yet" or "go pick on your little brother again he has permanently barred you from the site"
