Most Wanted all the way! I love shift too, the sound effects and detail of that game is incredible, all of that detail should be combined with Most Wanted to make a Most Wanted 2, and MW should have some night time races. The gameplay and storyline behind Most Wanted is hands down the best racing game in history.

Prostreet was ok, after i beat it I didn't pick it up again, hot pursuits were all fun cuz there was nothing to compare to and i was 7 yrs old or something, Carbon (coming directly in line after MW) gave me high hopes, and they were all shattered. The gameplay just sucked for carbon and it was a short game. I normally don't really like games like Shift, but shift his the spot. I loooove driving that M3 down teh track and blasting the TV, its sounds so real and you feel it.
Overall...
1. Most Wanted (of course)
2. Shift
3. Prolly underground (1 & 2) even though i never went far in it
4. Hot pursuits, at the time they were fun
5. Prostreet
6. Carbon
