Thanks for the news, VB.
What a great list of fixes that is!
Pretty much all of my issues with the game are in the fix list, that's fantastic. I can't wait for this to be patched, then I can blow the dust off of my game and continue playing!!
And to those of you saying "oh this didn't fix such and such problem" don't worry....this isn't THE patch, it's A patch. There could easily be more down the road, but these fixes are very important and needed to be addressed first. We can wait longer for them to look at the incorrect HP stats of a car....

While waiting for NFS shift to be fixed i have been playing forza 3. Now 90% of the ppl i have raced online in forza 3 came from Shift. i would guess 85% of them have sold shift back. I can't wait for the patch, I love shift, but i just can't keep racing with these bugs. I looked at the patch update and I am excited. When the patch is ready i am sure i will be back on shift in no time, I really enjoy the game and I think once the patch is ready ppl with think twice about buying any other racing game.

Forza 3 is part of a very popular franchise. The game was going to sell like crazy regardless, just like GT5 will. To say that "90%" of people came from SHIFT is just silly. Where did you conduct this survey and what was your method of doing so?
The bottom line is, if you want a SIMULATOR, then Forza 3 or GT5 will be your choice. SHIFT is not intended to be a 100% accurate simulator. If it was, there wouldn't be different driving modes with steering/braking assist, etc...

Saying forza or gt5 is a simulator is very lulz worthy.

For consoles....they're as close as you'll get to a sim.
I assume you're one of the PC people who think that any game not called GTR is not worth playing.

I can't wait for this patch. It wasn't directly addressed in the list but I'm assuming the frame rate issues will be fixed. I really do like what this game has the potential to be so I'm really looking forward to giving it another go. Until then I'll get into Dirt2 and dust off my copy of Grid.

I didn't see that the "Works upgraded cars revert to their pre-works performance" issue was fixed. Did I miss something?

Thanks for posting the update VB, looking forward to the patch
Shift PC
Fix for Lamborghini's having a low top speed when upgraded
This actually happened to all my cars that I tried to tune. Lamborghini Murc and Galardo, Corvette, both Nissan R35's, Porsche GT2 and RS, all pre works upgrade and my Zonda R lost 6th gear. I was able to get top speed back on all except the Zonda R by removing the tier 3 body kits. I was still able to run 6:50 at Nord with the Zonda R but I have to leave it in 5th gear going down the last straight or it will actually slow down if I shift it into 6th gear. I did set all tuning back to default.
This may have been addressed with the tuning fix I guess. I will try adding the body kits back after the patch and also test my Zonda again.
Edit: Zonda R seems to have found it's 6th gear again, game may have needed a restart after putting tuning back to default.

OK.
Release date? Any idea on when I'll have something more than a 60 buck drink coaster and a game case/paperweight? Three weeks? Four months? Before I'm eligible for retirement benefits?
I bought this game release day hoping for a new gaming experience and a return to truly good times for Need For Speed. And I bought it after taking into careful consideration all of the glowing reviews it garnered. Unfortunately, it appears I should have waited for the demo (nice job, there, too, BTW), as I've been steadily disappointed with the unfinished state of this game from that day forth, and now with the rising reports of lost saves, I'm nervous about even putting it back in my 360.

Now that there's a discussion area for the patch, fix, update...we can somewhat see a light in the tunnel. Doesn't mean we're there yet folks but, it's a start. I'm not holding my breath but, maybe we'll get our money's worth, someday. We'll see.

You sound like you have been on these forums since nfs launched and that you are displeased with every title, dude get over yourself.
ea are doing a decent job, half the issues you newcomers have are your own doing, I know for a fact I DONT have all these problems you supposedly have and some of my friends are happy with it also, HOWEVER....shift still needs work on things that need solving like internet issues, and not the silly bugs you newcomers make up.
