I posted a youtube yesterday about this to prove you wrong!!! Games do CRASH, and it isn't a connection issue when it is OFFLINE!!!!

What do expect gsize? These are volunteers working on a forum that does absolutely nothing for the consumer. To top it all off, they feel an obligation to EA for giving them this all important Moderator title. The problem lies in the fact that they don't know anything more than the average customer and despite their claims they don't actually know ANYONE at EA. They call it 'contact' with the lead developers because they get the EA Sports newsletter in their inbox. Then they have the gall to act like they ARE the developers, or at least console technicians. They try to offer the same old BS you would get from a call-in rep in India, and go ahead and state assumptions as fact (Example - Games don't crash).

I would like to exclude Bruins and Slapshot, as they seem to be the only Mods here not willing to put their foots in their mouths. I gotta say I'm getting pretty tired of coming on these forums and finding nothing that is useful. More and more people are becoming trolls because they feel they are being ignored. A thread of mine was locked and I asked 2 different mods why, and never got an answer. How can we not be cynical when the Devs say that the freezing will be patched by Nov 5, and nothing has changed. As a matter of fact, I see absolutely no difference between the game before and after the patch (and I play every night).

Point taken Yamos... LOL and you gave me a well needed laugh... I also agree with you about Slapshot!!!

I agree with you as far as the game goes, I have not noticed one real, substantial difference in the game since the patch. As far as the * about the mods, I could care less.

I have written many a nasty message on these boards, but figured I'd take some time off and see what the patch has to offer.I am STILL FREEZING up in menus and STILL SPENDING 10 MINUTES trying to get the system to read the disc just so I can play.I even have the game installed to HDD.
When you press the "Y" button at the dashboard, you are taken to "Game Options". Every game I have instantly goes to these options, but with hockey ,when I press the button it takes 1-2 seconds until the screen switches. The game is just bogus.
I agree that EA has to step up and admit faults. They need to just admit that they shipped an untested and unfinished product.Simply 'cause they knew we were all pawns and true fans would buy it day one anyway.

On a side note have you read the review on Gamespot. It says quote"the online play is smoother than ever in years past". REEAALLLY.Which EA DEV paid them to write that up.

(EDIT)-- To Scottok yes you will never get a true reply, just misdirections around all our questions.

The patch did address some freezes but we also stated that there were still some that seemed to remain in the game. We've asked for people to provide detailed reproduceable steps to us via PM and the team continues to investigate.

We have noticed that for some clearing system caches helps remedy the situations. Please feel free to PM me directly with details on where you are freezing in your game and I'll look into it. Thanks.

I really wish they would separate the PS3 and 360 forums. They both have different issues... besides I don't think the PS3er's care about the problems on 360 and vice versa...

This kind of ignorant drivel really isn't even worth addressing, but you're flat out wrong. I'm pretty sure no mod here ever "acts like a developer," often we make that distinction clear when frustrated forum members ask mods why 'we' haven't fixed something or why we haven't banned so and so, both being powers we obviously do not have.

yamos and gsize - though at times I do appreciate your helpful assistance especially with new members to these forums, sometimes you guys can be a little ignorant. I work with all the moderators and do have open lines of communication with them They are all volunteers that do not work for the company but that does not mean that they can't hit me up with a question which they do on a regular basis. Every one of these moderators have interacted with either myself or with producers and development staff online or in person (we've brought in a couple of mods every year for the past 3 years at community events).

These guys are huge parts of these forums and sometimes take a lot heat which they definitely should not have to from people that make false assumptions about their work. Keep it constructive and helpful and less personal.
