The only thing that sucks about Skate is that because of the control scheme, you can't really do some of the tricks that were present even in THPS1.

Stuff like kickflip indy, varial flips... well, mostly all the vert stuff. Even though I don't skate vert much, I still really liked those tricks.

i want the transition from kickflips to melons to be real quick in skate 3, it was better in the tony hawk games but looked pretty ugly.

THPS1 is top 5 all time favorite game for sure.

Hearing that soundtrack, it's a trip.. that game was so fun-could play it hours on end

Hate me for that but i loved THUG2 most. Dunno why I liked this more, it was really fun, I went crazy racking up points, doesnt took itself to serious, probably my most played game ever.

I respect the older days including THRASHER skate and destroy!!!

Also a bunch of TH games ofcourse as well... they started this craze for us...

Yet when I grow older - I will look back a few years from now with the same topic stating that EA AND BB took skateboarding into a whole new world for me as that will be remembered forever as well!!!

i remember doing special moves over the half pipe through the glass box thingy all the time hahaha....................good times

I sometimes go back to play these games every now and then when I just feel like going back to older consoles.
The game was fun and the music was great. THPS, THPS2 up to Proving Ground and stopped. Ride just looked awful.
Not sure which I prefer though, THPS2 or THUG.

I think peoples nostalgia is * with them. THUG was when the series started going downhill as the series since has started incorporating a * story and THUGs was really bad. THPS2 is the best in the series. It brought lots of features that were missing from the first game and had a really great soundtrack.

Activision milked it for all it was worth with yearly updates that weren't needed just like the do with everything. Just look at Guitar Hero and Call of Duty.

haha. i still have the thps1 original disc for ps1, i play it on my ps3 sometimes.
when i get my hands on the skate 3 cap, i will put thps1 in my ps2 and make a perfect replica of the thps warehouse

my favorite was the Downtown level in THPS1.... playing to the Vandals "Eurobadge" song.

can remember it vividly! haha weird.
i still have that song on my iTunes and when i play it, i always think of the some of the first times i heard it.

i liked everything up to THUG1 the most. after that i gave up... (HALO! hahahaha)
wasnt crazy about THUG2, i kept always wanting to trade my friend his THUG1 for my THUG2 ha.

I totally have the thps1 beta . Ya i had all of them up to proving ground, but thanks to this thread im actually gonna go pick up a copy of american wasteland for 360 right now, as it was one of my favs.
