Then you won't mind me posting your screen shots within the next year, to show the step backwards?
Remember, this is a beta..

At the same time, I feel I should re-iterate that some of the features that are being requested (i.e. 3D Grass, Turn-Based Multiplayer) will not be part of the initial launch of TWO. These features were never in our plans for the title's inital launch, but rather future features we planned on rolling out post-launch. We are aware of the forum community's passion for these features and do plan on introducing them in the future.

cem_ea_id.EA_GregRinaldi wrote:OK so I think it's time I responded to this thread as a developer of TWO.
The other major point of contention on the forums is the difficulty of the game. As I have stated before, TWO is aimed at a MUCH larger audience than TW PC and as such we need to provide an experience that is easy to pick up and get started playing for a new user. We do not want to alienate new user with difficult conditions, ambiguous controls and no aids. At the same time, we do want to cater to our loyal and hardcore fans and provide them with an online golf experience that is fun and challenging for them as well. We are working on designing solutions where both types of players (casual and hardcore) can have a fun experience. You likely will not see any changes here until Open Beta and I suspect we will need to go through several iterations before we arrive at a solution that is satisfactory for both camps of players.
As always, thanks again for your time, your patience and your feedback.

Once again the loyal followers of the TW pc community get a slap in the face . I mean here we are being told that TWO is not aimed at the PC sim group. So why make it? You have the console version for the arcade crowd. I guess were just 2nd class even though long before consoles were popular we were here year in and year out supporting the product.
So far I have seen NOTHING that "caters" to the loyal hardcore fans.We basically wanted the same features that we had in previous TW games,(no i'm not talking about a disk, having it browser based is fine and honestly if the bugs can be worked out its a brilliant way to go especially for fixes and updates ) I'm talking about game features such as different levels of difficulty novice intermediate advanced expert.

Geez how hard can it be to make the 3 click meter faster or at the very least if you miss the snap (green line) the ball will go astray the same thing for TS a slight offline stroke gets moved off line the higher the level the more effect a miss hit would have. We asked for real game physics.. oops sorry that too may (or may not ) come down the road. Tim has stated that they are working on it and its difficult to implement, fine I can understand that . Greg states it was never intended to have it in the game at all. So what is the exact status of this ?We asked for Turned based MP we get a response that this was never planned to be part of the game (good planning by the way). I think its been mentioned a few times to have the ability to set our own tournaments. I have never seen it stated definitely whether we will or wont have that option. Course designer again I have heard its on the horizon,what horizon? The one we can actually see or the one thats just a speck of light in the universe?
What exactly are you implementing for the hard core sim fan by release time ? Please tell us I think we deserve that much.

Yes I realize this post may seem harsh and I do not apologize for that > I am passionate about golf real golf and sim golf but unfortunately as I'm getting older my back allows me to play real golf less and less and I find myself playing more on the pc I wish it wasn't that way but that's life. So to see a game that I love turned into an arcade game that has little in common with real golf really ticks me off, and I'm sure others here feel the same way.
I do not post these comments to be mean spirited I do so because I care so much about this game in hopes that those in higher places actually do care how I and other sim golfers feel.

I know I will probably see a lot of posts like well if you don't like it don't play or similar brilliant replies. Remember though if you turn away enough of us "2nd class" PC players all you will be left with is the arcade crowd and how long do you think they will stay loyal?

If you are addressing me Bozekahn, please feel free to post my screen shots within any time frame. I am concerned with the here and now, I am not a psychic which is why I said "I have no beef with the Dev's/EA team as they do a great job. I will keep watching and hope they provide me and other like-minded golfers with our (admittedly) selfish needs." Why oh why do people keep saying "Remember, this is a beta.. " ? I've been here 5 months - I KNOW IT'S A BLOOMING BETA, LOL!

I truly believe that EA is trying to recoup some money on their investment with the initial launch of current MP mode. I feel that after launch, with the growing restlessness of not having turn-based MP, they will have to address this. I believe it will happen, just not as fast as we want it to happen.

There's almost nothing here that I disagree with......... in fact, this is one of the more direct and truthful responses to the recently released information.

Look closely at what Greg actually says about plans for release.........."These features were never in our plans for the title's inital (sic) launch, but rather future features we planned on rolling out post-launch."

I think the same as you, G............... great planning..

to be honest I was sure they would come with the turnbased game and I was like a child waiting for it.
I´m a real golfer working on a real golfcourse,my life turns about real golf and I play with my real golffriends so I was hoping for a great real golfgame like Links so I can play with my friends online not just chatting with them.
I was willing to pay 100$ a year if this had being the case becouse the game is wery good,bud sadly no TB MP.
Some here have playd this beta for a long time and have askt this question before so why keeping them waiting so long if there was no intension to have TB MP in it.
I hope I have not being rude in my wrighting becouse sometimes I dont know the right english words to express my self
Best regards

Ok so am I missing something here? Are we saying the only format we can play is fast play, what about best ball games alt shot, match play, why do EA keep saying things will be added at a later stage? Getting the GAME formats should be in there from day one!!!! You cant honestly be saying EA the only format we can play is STROKE hers hoping iv got it wrong.

I'm sorry.......this is classic EA at work. Well, we might do something about that in the future. Funny thing is they don't have a good history of doing that. As much as I have loved this game in the past, I can see that it is time to move on to something else.......Clearly the community style atmosphere is gone for good now from the game. Such a shame for this to happen to such a wonderful series. The statement that EA will be looking into it after the launch of the game is not good enough. Might as well go buy a car without an engine in it in hopes that the dealer might look into putting one into it. Without the tp multiplayer the game is boring.....even playing the mp as it is now is the same as playing a round by yourself. Still to this date I have yet to have any question answered that I have asked about. I thought that was what a beta was for? For instance.....Custom Course ability....this is the ultimate breaker for this game. I have asked countless times.....still no answer. Players taking a full swing on a chip shot....simple yet not correct. Being able to turn down or turn off that blasted music so I can hear friends on ventrilo. Unrealistic ball flight from the rough and sand. Unrealistic backspin on the greens. I don't see to many PGA Tour players backspinning a ball 40 yards. Sorry.....but we might take a look at that in the future. That doesn't work for me......I can't and will not pay money for that.

ALL dirt roads lead to NC State.

My only hope is they phase the prise in accordingly if we are getting a 1/4 of a game or less this should be shown with the pricing, I think it should be free at launch or keep it in beta until you get a full list of MP game formats.

What Poker game was that ??? Looks really good. As for TWO, I think everything will b ok. It just needs more time to develop. At least the features and fixes get done, while we are sleeping. So, be patient.

Great summing up of the whole thing, Glen (SirP)

If I hear the words "after the initial release" one more time, I swear.....

Oh yeah, I had my appendix out the other day, The Surgeon sent me home, blood and wriggly bits hanging out all over the place, i said hey MAN - what about some stitches??? Well he said I hadnt SPECIFIED stitches when I agreed to have my appendix out, but now that I am complaining well, just maybe I can have it ..... later...

So I jumped in a cab and told the driver my address, the driver reached over and took $50 out of my wallet, then sat there and read the paper. I said "arent you gonna drive me to my house?" he said"well you didnt SPECIFY that. He said he would drive me home... one day.....

for gods sake EA this is seriously insulting now. This was supposed to be for the PC Golfers.. remember - the guys who bought your product year in year out until you dumped them with no more product? Now we have this arcade rubbish that we could have got if we wanted to play on a console... SORRY but I have been "nice" and "patient" for ages now - when I am *********** enough, I get a little tetchy.....

Is anyone at TWO prepared to give an HONEST response to these questions, that were ALWAYS the big questions, the questions you have skirted around now for months on end because we - the customers, are TOO THICK to be told anything about your plans ???:

* Will there be a course architect (or similar ability for custom courses)?
* If so ..WHEN?
* Will there be a turn based multiplayer?
* If so ..WHEN?
* Will there be different levels of play (like the old novice, intermediate, Advanced and Expert modes)?
* If so ..WHEN?
* Will there be user set tournaments?
* If so ..WHEN?
* Will there be multiplay options for: alt Shot, 4 ball, Stableford, Skins etc?
* If so ..WHEN?
* Will the 3 click meter be speeded up so that a 4 year old cant score 24 under?
* If so ..WHEN?
* How are you going to charge for players to play this game? How much and with what sort of structurE?

And one big question:

* Is EA sports, who have supposedly just laid off a large number of employees, abandoning the whole TW Series, meaning you guys are possibly out of a job and this has been a phenominal waste of time?

I await an honest, transparent and complete reponse.

Thank you in anticipation (and one last attempt at patience).

Davy
