On the Extreme Tournaments don't spend to much time trying to read the greens just get your speed of your putts down & just play for pars & you will see the more you play the more the putts start to fall for you.
I hated the extremes at first but now I think they are the Best Tournaments to play.

Thx DLW..As for extreme..I used to play them a couple mths ago..I never was any good..I got tired of it..didn't enjoy it anymore..I know some of you guys love it..I just don't enjoy it at all..to me the winds are far fetched and it seems everything is a punch shot..and like I said..the putting..I would play the extreme and ened up frustrated with a headache afterwards...not what I want out a video game. Maybe I'll try again sometime..just not soon.

P.S--I am in NO WAY bashing anyone that plays extreme..many of my friends play it very well..just not enjoyable to me

Just my .02 Pish. I rarely hit a punch shot in the Extreme. Maybe if its Predator and I am trying to avoid trees or I hit a poor approach and am a bad distance to the hole (70-100). 99% of the time 110yards+ I am hitting a full shot and I actively try and AVOID 70-100 distance. The putting... you learn to putt for speed very well playing the Extreme. After that you learn when you can be aggressive and go at the hole and when you lay close and make tap-in 2 putts. Pars are not a bad thing at all.

I SW mentioned, I rarely use punch shots in the extremes. It's more fun to ride the wind!

Normally the only time I hit a punch shot is with my driver off the tee & then I only use it if its my best option.

1st option is either Driver or 1I riding the wind.
2nd option is hooking or slicing the driver or 1I against the wind.
And then if I don't like either of these options & the fairway is accessible to a driver punch shot then I will hit a punch shot.

As SW mention I do my best to stay away from the 60-100 yard shot.

-7 at the 1/13 Extreme at Cog Hill

Messed up my putt on #1 and then on #2 I had a 9' putt that I completely misread, i.e. read the break going to the right when it went left. Should have had that putt. Left another long putt 1 foot short and it was tracking, GRRRRR. Did make an eagle on 15 to get to -7 and then just couldn't drop a putt on the last 3. Even missed a 7 footer when I didn't read enough break. I should have played it my normal way, half cup outside 11-12 feet of power and slam it in the hole.

-20 at the 1/12 TP at Oakmont

Really loved this round. The par-3s on the front were a challenge. On #6 I played a ton of fade and hit a soft 3-iron around 90%, watched it hit in the back right of the green and roll back past the pin about 6 feet. Hit a 6-iron on the par-3 8th within 4 feet. Just missed it hitting 99% vs. 100 and then watched from the pin as it landed right in front of it, had I gotten 100 it might have gone in.

On the back I hit a punch approach shot on 10 to within 7', the punch took the kick out of play but opened the door for going through the green. Made the green on both 14 and 17 and sunk eagle putts. Hit what I thought was a great approach on 18 only to watch it catch and spin back and then keep rolling 15' from the hole. Missed that putt to end with my only par.

Obviously my putting needs work... As always.

-13 for me today on the 1 try Harbour Town Tour pro event.

It was fun but disappointing.....I wanted to play well so bad that I jinxed myself and couldn't putt to save my soul. I missed 4 putts in the 1st 5 holes before I finally got settled down but by then I had messed up 2 eagles and 2 birds...

The back wasn't much better when I tried to get close on the last par 5 for eagle and then watched as it landed just short of the green and took a huge hop through the green and over the back....my return pitch wouldn't stop rolling and stopped on the fringe and then I lipped out my birdie putt....par on a par 5....totally unacceptable.....

I see Cocarr posted a -16...very nice... and my buddy SW is currently leading the PS3 side with a -18.....nice job guys....well played....

Tee off at Harbor Town went only one goal in mind beat Cocarr-16, I started off great with a birdie, eagle start with 4 more birdies to followed, par 7 then birdie 8 then finish the front side with a eagle on 9 to go out with -10,only needed 6 more birdies to tie & 7 to beat him.Started 10 with a birdie, then par 11 & 12 then ran off 4 more birdies to get to -15 coming to the par 3 17th, hit a great shot right behind the pin then watch it roll right by the hole to the bottom of the green but not off, then ran my biridie putt right by the hole & then did the unthinkable miss the comebacker & had to settle for a bogey, finish 18 with a birdie but the damage was already done finish at -15 1 stroke behind Cocarr ,he beat me again.

Good Job Cocarr

I shot a ho-hum -5(6 birdies & 1 bogey) at the Extreme, but really wasn't in the mood to play it.

After taking a little break went back on to play the Daily Tour at Turnberry & play a perfect round hit every fairway & green, eagle both par 5's & birdie the rest of the holes to shot -20 tied the best score, but currently in 2nd due to tiebreaker.

I feel a little better now, but still steaming from the earlier whipping that Cocarr laid on me.

Obs Jan 14th Scores:

My internet/cable was down yesterday morning, I usually shoot before going to work so yesterday I didn't get to do my rounds until really late that evening. Ever notice how some times of the day you shoot better than others? Anywho, I had a pretty solid evening...

Multi-try Tour Pro@ Turnberry -15: I think I was about 8th place with that round. Had a bogey on that ridiculous green on the backside par 3 (#15?). Played it single-try btw.

Single Try Tour Pro @ Harbor Town -19: With TonyTurbo in @-18 that was my goal and lo and behold I managed a spiffy round. Only 1 mistake or I could have matched 1st @ -20.

Extreme Custom Course -8: This was good for 2nd place in a 5 way tie of people with 8 under. Could have had 1st had I been aiming at more fairways (sometimes I prefer the rough with good distance and level shot).

One thing that really excited me was that the Single-Try Tour Pro had more rounds posted than the Multi-Try Tour Pro tournament. Great support and at the very least a hope that EA can continue to offer both each day. (Thanks Christian for the higher purse on 1-try...it is more worthy of value who can place high there in just 1 shot like the real pros).

Didn't play any tournies yesterday..

Took day off from work this morning..

Extreme (yes I tried it) -3. Leader was at -7. I walk up to 16th at -6 and I go for green and end up in lateral hazard twice! Triple bogey!! I was happy with the round otherwise considering I don't play extreme.

Single Try Bethpage -17 I was on top but only 30 people or so had played. 2 pars 1 eagle..I couldn't reach second par 5 to get eagle shot..

I will probably play the other stuff tonight..good luck all

Scotia, you're really starting to frighten me. 2 of the 3 rounds yesterday we finished with the exact same score.

I wonder which of us is the "evil" twin?
