ok, the Jets D may have been ranked #1, but it's not like they're not the 02 Bucs or anything

last time i checked, Colts dont have Adrian Peterson and are basically one dimensional against the better teams they face. you saw what the Saints did to one pass happy team against the Cardinals. Saints are not great by any stretch of the imagination on defense BUT you give a decent defense the chance to just rear back and rush the passer 40+ times a game and good things are bound to happen, especially considering how many turnovers the Saints have forced this season. Reggie needs to have a bounce back game after a poor performance against the Vikings...if the Colts give him a shot to return a punt...look out. cant help but to root for the Saints and entire city after all they been through.

LOLZ!!!! WHO DAT?!?! WHO DAT?!? WHO DAT SAID DEY GUNNA BEAT DEM SAINTS?!?!?!

He looked like the ole Peyton with the way he threw that pick 6 right to Tracy Porter who was sitting on that route. major choke. forget the 31-45 333 and a TD...he made the WORST possible play at the WORST possible time. colts defense was garbage too. im sooooooo glad the Saints won it all. not only does the city deserve it, all that Manning being one of the greatest ever talk just ended with one single play lol.

Nov is probably crying himself to sleep up there in Tennessee. i just have a question...which loss hurt more? watching your idol lose the biggest game on the biggest stage or watching the Tennessee Titans come up one yard short 10 years ago?

and obviously you are not too good at catching sarcasm or me just trying to call out Nov and anyone else who thought the Colts were gonna dominate...

Peyton Manning was nearly perfect in 99.9% of that game. lol His receiver gives up the route and N.O. gets pressure one of the few times of the day and Porter makes a great play.

Kurt Warner, Brett Favre, Peyton Manning. That's 3 Hall of Fame QB's that the Saints beat and managed to pull wins out of their * in the last two.

That's destiny. That and Drew Brees being unstoppable. lol

The Colts need to hire themselves a coach. As great as Manning is and as good as their defense has been this year, they will not be able to survive forever with a bunch of assistant coaches running the show.

Saints played their game and Payton with an A, was the difference.

I feel bad because of idiots like UGA blaming the loss on Manning....when they were already down 7............and having to continue to deal with the ignorance until he gets back and wins another one. Which will happen.

Other than that I'm excited for the Saints. It's good for sports and hopefully now we don't have to hear about Katrina like we hear about Favre. Time to move on already.

No one outside of Indy could be upset about the Saints winning the SB. It's huge.

Oh, and Peyton isn't my "idol". He's the closest thing to what I'd consider a "hero" though. I love the man. Outside of the obvious "real" life stuff and people, I care about sports more than anything else. And when it comes to sports Peyton Manning is and always will be the king in my eyes.

Michael Jordan is a close 2nd.

1. who said i blamed the loss on Manning? did you skip the part where i said the Colts defense was garbage? they couldnt cover Pierre Thomas or Reggie Bush coming out the backfield on short passes. They got dinked and dunked all day.

2. His window of opportunity for another championship is closing as Freeney and that defense gets older...did i miss something or is Bob Sanders been out for the season again this year?

3. i specifically told everyone that when you pass that many times against a decent defense that something good would happen. Saints had about the same number of passing attempts but at least they had the threat of running the ball. besides that TD in the 3rd quarter, its like the Colts abandoned the run the entire 2nd half even though Addai was getting loose early in the game.

4. Peyton Manning and Michael Jordan should never belong in the same sentence. period lol

5. Even though Peyton choked and the Colts lost, I bet ole Archie had a grin on his face Sunday night...like Tom Jackson said during the post-game show, this win probably felt like redemption for anyone who has ever been a Saint during their history. took them 22 seasons to just get a winning record.

6. Saying you hope you dont have to hear about Katrina like you do Favre is heartless...lots of people died and even more lost all their possessions. it was one of the biggest natural disasters in U.S. history. people should hear about it and it should go down in our history books so our kids and their kids will know what a colossal puck up George W. Bush and FEMA were during that time.

Window of opportunity? Las Vegas just installed the Colts as the favorite to win the Super Bowl next year. If their defense is this good with Bob Sanders not on the field all season, what does that tell you? Their defense isn't old. They've got several new players on that defense that wasn't even there 3 years ago when they won it all.

Peyton Manning is good enough to make their offense great every year. Look what he's done this season with NO running game and two receivers that have never dreamed of playing significant snaps in the NFL two years ago.

Peyton's "window" will close when he retires. He has the smartest GM in football and great owners. His offensive line has been rebuilt once and they have 3 guys who have been in the league less than 3-4 years I believe.

I don't see what makes you believe that they aren't going to contend every year when they've done so the whole decade. lol

I'm not saying Katrina shouldn't be heard of. I agree that they should plan on putting in line as part of education. Everything during the past 20-30 years should be.

Trying to single out George Bush while teaching kids shows how close minded you are. You've argued and gone above and beyond about how terrible he is and how you're pro Obama, etc, etc. Why don't I see you singing his praises now? What do you have to say for your hero?

Hate to say it, but Sports Nation is actually right. Manning is not Brady.

And I've always kind of liked Manning. He was awesome at Tennessee because he never beat Florida, and his commercials are mostly hilarious. I'm not sure I believe any of that stuff about him going around the league, but I could see it. haha

Tom Brady isn't "Tom Brady" since he stopped knowing what the defense was doing before he snapped the ball.

If you put Tom Brady on the Colts this year they barely make the playoffs, let alone get to the Super Bowl.

Statistically he had the second best year of his career this season.

And I should clarify - Manning isn't Brady when it matters most. They were running through his playoff/SB numbers and it was just kind of ridiculous. Tough to say who's better at this point.

Although Brees is moving up very, very quickly.

How is that a suprise to you Dropout?? They run "bend but don't break" cover2.. thats the nature of that defense.. give up stuff underneath.. keep everything in front of you.. and I'd say thats not a bad gameplan against a big play offense like the Saints, they didn't give up ANY big plays in that game.. Freeney not being healthy and disappearing in the second half made a huge difference because the Colts need that front four to get pressure for that Defense to work.. thats how ALL cover2 systems work..

3. i specifically told everyone that when you pass that many times against a decent defense that something good would happen. Saints had about the same number of passing attempts but at least they had the threat of running the ball. besides that TD in the 3rd quarter, its like the Colts abandoned the run the entire 2nd half even though Addai was getting loose early in the game.

And the Colts Joseph Addai who was making the Saints defense look like a high-school D didn't give them the "threat of the run"?? Am I reading that nonsense correct??? Addai looked great in that game.. better than ANYONE taking handoffs on the Saint's did combined.. its just that the Colts (suprisingly) failed to utilize play action in this game to keep the Saint's guessing.. If I had to find ANY critcism in this game twards the Colts offense it was not taking advantage of Addai's big runs with some P.A.. well, that and the fact that normally reliable Colts WR's looked like they smeared some butter on their hands before the game lol.. but saying the Colts "abbandoned" the run is foolish.. their NORMAL offense that got them there in the first place was what we saw in the second half when it was on the feild, and thats Manning throwing it all over the place.. you can accuse the Colts of not utilizing the run proprerly, which would HAVE to include criticism on them not using P.A .. but saying they didn't have the threat of running is inacurate, they just failed to capitalize on what they were doing with it IMO..

Another thing I'm not seeing ANYONE bring up is that the Colts CLEARLY had the momentum going into halftime until Sean Peyton made probably the most brilliant call I've seen in a long time during a game with that onside kick.. if the Saint's don't get that play to work.. its a very different game.. another questionable thing the Colts did was decide to try and burn clock with handoffs on their last drive in the first half after they allready had a 90 plus yard drive under their belts.. to me, this game came down to a handfull of things to swing it.. Drew Brees being able to keep his game steady and make no mistakes while Sean Peyton performed live for our enjoyment "how to out coach the opposition all game long and make them look like a McDonalds drive thru management team rather than a professional football coaching staff" lol.. that onside kick to start the half was the difference in tha game IMO.. the pick 6 was the nail in the coffin..

But when it mattered most, Brady threw 3 interceptions in the 1st quarter....his statistics are indeed off the charts. Not arguing that. lol

I'm not saying Brady isn't a great QB because he is. I'm saying he hasn't proved he can carry a team when he doesn't have one of the best defenses in the league or "tips" on what the opposing defense is doing.

There are "clutch" QB's who have never won SB's. Steve McNair comes to mind for me because of the Titans. Dan Marino had a TON of comebacks and so has Brett Favre for that matter. Sure they all make mistakes, but Peyton Manning didn't LOSE that Super Bowl.

He was close to a perfect passer rating most of the game and the next drive after the interception he drove them right back down the field again. lol

I just don't look at the amount of rings. Never have. If you have one, then that's all that matters. Ben Roethlisberger has 2, but he's never going to be Peyton Manning or Brett Favre because they have one. Marino doesn't have any, but that doesn't mean he's not as good as Trent Dilfer or Eli Manning.
