Running all on MAX, that means all on High ofc. and then 16xQ AA and 16x AF I get between: 25-35 fps!
Turning the settings down to: 2x AA and 8x AF I get an fps between 35-50(some times even 60).
HBAO set to OFF, only gave me around 2-4 fps more!
My screen resolution is 1680x1050 - 119hz.
GFX card is: ZOTAC GTX285 AMP! Edition.
Running Windows 7 on a:
Dual Core 3,16 GHz.
4 GB Kingston HyperX RAM.
BTW. Turning Fraps off makes the game run allot more smooth, so there seems to be some kind of issue with Fraps and BC2.

i get more frames in DX11 lol. when i drop it to DX9, it goes to around 25fps.
Same thing with me! i was on dx9, then switched dx10, and my fps went up lol is that because my graphics card is dx10.1 or something? why would that happen? I also have noticed my fps goes down with lower resolutions as well lol. weird stuff but you can't expect too much from a beta :p

EDIT:
As some have posted. Whether HBAO is on or off does not effect FSP by much/
I tested both ways and had very little improvement.
So I took disabling HBAO out of the original post.
As there's really no need unless you need an extra few FPS.

It's called tweaking. Everyone complaining about how this game is not optimised and how it won't run on their 9800GT and their 2GHz CPU doesn't seem to understand that system requirements change.
I don't mean to be insulting, but god damn are you actually reading any of these threads? The game *is* pretty much un-optimized. I mean, i have low specs and i'm not too unhappy about how it performs for me, but a lot of people with very high-end computers are having to run the game on medium, which is just ridiculous.
I've read all the threads and all the complaints. I have yet to see one guy with a 5970 and an overclocked quad core complain about performance issues. Myself, I run a 4870X2 and an E8400 @ 3.87GHz with these settings:
[Graphics]
Effects=high
Soldiers=high
Vehicles=high
Overgrowth=high
Undergrowth=high
StaticObjects=high
Terrain=high
Shadows=medium
Bloom=true
HSAO=true
MSAA=0
Water=high
MainQuality=custom
Texture=medium
DxVersion=auto
Aniso=3
Detail=high
And it runs smooth. I don't mean 30fps smooth I mean 60 fps smooth. The only time I really feel it's dipping down in the 40s is when I'm right next to a big explosion.

It's because your AF is set to 8X.
It's another bug, considering even on my dated hardware, I can pull of 30FPS out of combat and about 23FPS in combat with 8xAF. But having a difference settings for it results in horrible FPS lag.

Opteron175 @2.47
4870 512mb
4gb ocz pc4000
WD Blk 1TB
week old 7 ultimate x64 installed
10.1 dets used
very odd 2 restarts ago i had this working now it's not..
i had tried all the combinations i can think of with the gfx settings, editing the config file, switching from dx9 to auto etc
so when i read this post and pasted in the settings and switched the res to 1280x1024 which another poster said yielded the best average fps - the game was giving me 25fps solid when looking and running thru explosions/gunfire.
astonishing after having gotten used to playing at 15-19fps and still pretty choppy 81% of the time
anyhow, a short while before i tried this out, I installed the the 10.1 detonators upgrading from the wdm driver from w7 update and it was after I restarted the box and let the driver settle with a fresh boot, the fps were back to 15-18 ..
i'm kinda frustrated because the way my rig handled the game while in the middle of action at 25 solid and seeing 34s now and then i have faith it's just a matter of finding the right settings for the game to click with the pc.
who knows maybe it'll have enough weight behind this title that ea will greenlight the resources to tighten up the coding on this game a couple months after the release cos with the time left to send the final code to the printers...
too bad there aren't any 16 player servers

Try setting your AF to 8x, and see if that helps. I found having it set any lower or higher resulted in unstable and low FPS.
In my case I went from 10 - 15FPS in combat to a stable 23FPS in combat.
This is with everything on medium with HBAO off and 2xAA.
Thought I'd post it since this improved performance for me. I'm curious what other peoples results will be.

You crazy son of a *!
Surprisingly it worked out GREAT for me. Virtually no slow-down/hiccups and I'm running max everything else besides the 8x. I also figured out how to bring up the server list. Basically I am playing smooth and the game feels SEVERAL times better.

Got a question though, how do you bring up all those tweaking options? I only get a few on 'advanced'.

Wow. This worked. With HBAO off and 1x AA, otherwise high settings and 8x AF, I've shot from 18 fps min to mid to high 20s min. Weird.
My specs: Radeon HD5770, AMD Phenom II x2 3.5 ghz, 4 gigs DDR3 Ram.

You missed the point... this isn't an obvious or rational tweak. Basically the OP is saying that turning a setting to a specific value that is higher than what most ppl are probably using is increasing framerate rather than decreasing it as one would normally expect. That is a discovery which, if true, is certainly worth sharing.

I'll try turning off Fraps, see if it feels smoother. In the last area of the map where theres lots of vehicles and destruction, I am still experiencing slowdowns into the low 20s.
Update: Hmm, now I've got a glitch where I get stuck in loading screens when the server transitions rounds. Grr.

Thanks for the post, I went ahead and changed my DX level to 9 which gave me a nice boost. All settings Medium, with effects on high. 1920x1080, no AA, AF x16.
For all the Nvidia owners- to overcome the beta's non-existent AA, try turning on multi-sampling in your Nvidia control panel. I also have AF optimization, as well as Trilinear filter optimization on (that is what 1x AA is right?) Clamp Negative LOD. I am pretty pleased with how it runs and looks now. I was thinking of getting another card for a second there!
