i wish i had a link or something better on the details to share. i remember a while back there was some comparison where top pc gamers were pitted against top console players in the same game. it was such a slaughter that the pc team was replaced by average players and they still beat the top console players. in fact, didn't they try that w/ one of the later releases of unreal tournament (UT3 or UT4 maybe) and had to stop due to the slightly uneven playing field?

To add my 2 pence...

2142 coming to 360 would be quite entertaining. I used to play 2142 back before my PC died (almost 3 years ago ) and I always enjoyed it. I especially liked Titan Mode. In fact, when I tell gaming stories, I always bring up a few Titan Mode games, even though it's been years since I've played.

But back to the topic. The new Counter Strike game, Global Offensives, will feature the ability to play PC/Mac vs PS3 (Microsoft doesn't support that decision.) BF3 on console will (supposedly) feature 32v32 player maps (which is by far the most players on a server for consoles ever I think.) The graphics for BF3 are truly stellar, the best looking graphics I have seen in a long time. Yes, including PC.

With that said, think about it; a console port of 2142 is theoretically possible. Look at BF1943 for XBLA. 12 v 12 and one of the fastest selling download only game in the first week. The new Frostbite 2 engine surpasses 2142 in graphics. I've seen at least 3 threads about a 2142 remake that included polls FAVORING a remake. Admittedly, they seem to be the silent majority as in the threads, there is far less support in the thread.

The technology and the support is there. The only ones against it are the PC Elitist that REFUSE TO ADAPT WITH THE TIMES. Yes, I miss my PC. Yes, I much prefer PC gaming over console but not for the hardware specs! Most PC gamers are older and thus (usually) more mature than the average console player. It's unfortunate but true. But you know what else is true? Consoles gave new life to the games industry! Yes, PCs carried the industry through the games shortage of the 80's but can you imagine where we would be if it weren't for consoles? Still playing Counter Strike! Still playing the same games over and over. The industry was starting to stagnate again! And the console is the new babysitter of the 21st century. Mommy and Daddy buy a shiny new console and let little Junior play while they go argue. It's affordable. It's simpler. I consider myself a PC gamer first and honestly, I still don't know squat on how to build a computer and y'know what? That's fine! I want games, whatever the medium!

Yes, a 2142 console remake would have to make sacrifices to work. Admittedly, my knowledge of the game is limited but as long as it had the big 3; Titan Mode, Commander slot, and walkers; wouldn't the game be fine? And it wouldn't even have to be PC v Console.

TL;DR - Isn't 2142 such a good game, such an entertaining game, that you want to share it with others, regardless of their platform?
