...its obvious now that you don't WATCH the fights...destroyed? nelson/arlovski was one of the worst (if not, THE worst) standups in the history of the sport. andre looked good that night, but nelson worked andre over in the 1st and prob wins the round.
Yes, I'd call that a destruction.
Bad stand up or not, Nelson got his as* handed to him.
*conveniently shows the last 10 SECS of the fight*...
10 secs??
how about the first 3-4 mins where nelson dominated arlovski on the ground? reversing his takedown then continually advancing & maintaining position while going for a handful of sub attempts...leading up to one of the worst (side control) stand ups i have ever seen. nelson easily wins the 1st round (& prob still did - not sure) w/o it.
not saying arlovski isnt good fighter or he didnt look good that night b/c he did, just saying 'destroyed' is a bit of a stretch. that term is usually reserved for a fighter who dominates in all apects of a fight...& showing the last 10 secs of a fight (when nelson is obviously gassed from working andre over in the 1st) is laughable.

You're parsing words. To me, destroyed means he got KTFO, which he did. You can't honestly say that destroyed is usually reserved for a certain outcome, as everybody is gonna have a different interpretation of it.
Also, I don't see how he could have gassed from riding Arlovski for half a round. Anybody that's had any sort of experience grappling can tell you that it's way more exhausting for the person on the bottom than it is on top. So to say that the reason Nelson got KO'd is because he gassed, IMO, is a stretch as well.
I do agree that it was a bad stand up though. I don't think a fight should ever be stood up from side control or mount, regardless of what the fighter on top is doing.
