@skitskraj- the ping shown in game is overall latency, not ping.

Well, it says ping both on server list and on score board, so I'm gonna assume that you are wrong until I see some official statement of that being the case.

Hes right, I have a g13 and in game tab say 150ms but my g13 say 50ms etc.

The in game ping is wrong. Ask anyone with a G keybaord

This?
No ping displayed - This is caused by Windows admin privileges. To view ping in the server browser run BFBC2.exe with administrator privileges.

If that's an important DICE developer, they should be fired. The correct response should have been
We made a coding mistake that a ten year old would know better. Sorry, we'll make that ten minute fix to our code ASAP!

Nope, swing and a miss. The line right below it however;
High pings even on local game servers. We're actually showing game latency instead of ping.

Another one:

- Ping in-game differs from real ping (usually 50-100ms difference): This is due to round-trip latency for an in game packet.

They're so busy making the game itself awesome, that they forget to let us play it with ease.

Yep thats what I heard too. Its the latency thats show in game. Which is why those G keyboards still show the diff number. Its ping.

Browser = ping
In game = latency
G keyboards are showing ping not the latency.

Im not sure if that was intentional or not.

Ah, since the thread was about ping not even showing, not really relevant, eh
Swing and a miss? More like you brought a soccer ball to a baseball game.
Edit - NVM - I think you were responding to a post just above. Quote them (or part) - makes it clear you're not talking back to the post that started the thread.

Anyway , the pings not showing at all, fixed for some with ADMIN/UAC fixes, is bad coding on their part.

Go away we were discussing the diff in the game vs the ping in browser.

This from the king of off topic posts!

You may be the stupidest poster in these forums.
The OP's topic IS pings not showing.
Take your intellect where it is better suited. Something like the SIMS perhaps.

Thanks. No offence but it's much better with that kind of official statement to rely on than some random forum user's post. =)

Further the ping shown is not near what it says in game - do BC2 add some virtual ping to keep players more equal? On server list it says ~30ms and in the game I get ~150ms. Don't think I've ever seen a ping below 100ms, even on servers just a few miles from where I live.

I was initially responding to the OP, and his quote above from the 1st page of this thread may not be from the initial subject, but it was asked, is relevant, and he has an answer.
