I'm a HUGE FAN of team games. Alternate shot and 4 ball are my favs.. and OF COURSE, Mav covered the rest!

This is great news Greg! I just hope you are going to allow betting on MP rounds! I would really like the ability to bet points, but even just in-game cash would be sufficient. At least it adds something to play for!

As far as points, even something small, like 5 or 10 points would be fun to bet.

As far as in-game cash, there should be a wide range of amounts that could be set. Starting with as low as $100 for the newer players that don't have much cash and all the the way up to $100.000 or even more for those of us with a bankroll.

Oh yea, how can I forget! MP leaderboards! Including: wins,losses, opponent strength(avg of your opponents' levels) and most importantly DID NOT FINISH PERCENTAGE! Including DNF% is a MUST and the ability to set a max DNF% when setting up a MP round (such as players could not join if there DNF% was greater than 10%). That will help those of us who don't quit mid-round to get matched against opponents who don't either.

This is great news Greg and the announcement I have been waiting for

I think Maverick covered all formats I can think of/want

I am also hoping that something can be arranged later in the year that lets members compete in a form of Ryder Cup competition

Now you have my attention, once this is released I will be signing up. I am surprised there are not more replys as this has been one of the most asked for aspects of the game. Maybe it should be in general discussion as well.

i think thats why. not many visit this section.

All great suggestions and most, if not all of these features are in our plans already. I want to set expectations for the upcoming release next month. We are introducing Turn-Based Stroke Play in May as phase 1 of a planned multi-stage Multiplayer overhaul. The other game modes and features mentioned in this thread will be added in subsequent releases (along with other features not mentioned here). We will not have multiplayer leaderboards to start, because we will not record scores until we can add DNF (did not finish) stats to prevent sandbagging of multiplayer games. As mentioned earlier, Match Play will be the next feature released after Turn-Based is introduced. The other features mentioned here will begin development after Match Play is released.

Following that, we will be working on a brand-new and much more robust lobby and matchmaking system that will make getting into a game and inviting friends to play much easier and more fluid. The lobby/matchmaking system will take considerable more development resources, but it is a much-needed addition to multiplayer.

We are also currently working on a Members Only filter for chat which should be introduced before Turn-Based Play becomes available. FYI for those who are unaware, there currently is a filter in chat for multiplayer (called foursome) that allows you to chat with only the members of your multiplayer match.

Thanks Greg this is great news & will attract those people who were waiting for this feature to be added. A lobby is critical to making this the experience everyone is looking for & I hope its added ASAP. I think Maverick covered every possible type of game that could be played in TBMP & he even came up with some that I have never heard of

yes, very good news indeed!!..in '06, there was a disconnect percentage stat for everyone..same as the keenly suggested dnf stat for this game..dont recall if connection issues were included in that, think they were..hope the mp connection issues get tightened up, no good to get dnf stat if the game freezes on you or disconnects you

it does help when deciding on matches to enter or not and is a great suggestion

tbmp should drum up quite a few new subscribers and is a much appreciated upgrade so early into release!

Greg,

Great to hear that you are working on leaderboards with the DNF%!! i always played tw on 360 before this came out and literally the only thing i ever played was MP, both simultaneous and TB, especially team games. I hope these leaderboards get set up the same way with points given for wins and ties and taken away for losses and even more taken away for a DNF. You could even setup multiplayer leveling, separate from the level your career golfer is. Once you accumulate so many points from wins you level up, and we could be matched on those levels, rather than our career level since you'd actually have to win to earn MP points. On Career levels, even if you don't score that well you can level up just by playing numerous rounds. Plus, some players don't play as well with the pressure of a shot clock(I know I had to get used to that when i first started playing on xbox live). I'm just SOOOOOOOOOOOO lookin forward to playin Alt shot,4ball and best ball!!!

i know you said the leaderboards are good while away and it's all good. I'm just ECSTATIC to hear these features are all in development!! Many props to you and your team for your dedication and hard work on this game!!!

When we all played 99, foursomes and alt shot were huge. Also, putting in a chat for players online to become friends and pair up would be awesome. I'm old school, so I miss the comraderies.
