Good thing there are no bearings to be customized. That is useless, you don't see them when you are skating.
The only thing I think is too bad is that you can't customize grip tape, but oh well, can't have everything can we? And it isn't THAT important after all...

Sounds like it's going to be the best customization a skate game has gotten yet. Thanks for the info.

Wow that's great news to hear, and to tell you the truth, I don't care about the changing of bearings, or bushings. And the only thing I'd do with the griptape is put that line to tell where the tail of the board is.

Yeah, it looks like this game will have awesome customization. Not just because it's something EA is VERY good at, but also, i feel it's a sport thats very individualistically driven, and it looks like it's finally being done right by the team behind Skate.
Customization is not just the look, but the feel. Style isn't just the shirt you wear but the way you skate. Playing Tony Hawk online, you see people skating the same style, the same speed, skating the same look.
With Skate, this looks to change, and i can't wait. Individualism is key to Skate culture, and this game looks to replicate it pretty damn well.

Dude thats exactly what i was thinking. The board customization in Skate is great, but wider/narrower boards, deeper concave and bigger/smaller wheel are all things i'd like to see in Skate 2 if it happens.

I don't care about the bearings either, I was just wondering, its not like I was bummed out when I heard bearings weren't gonna be changeable, just curious, but I think sizes of the board would be ridiculous because for that to take effect they would have to change the entire way the board flipped and controlled under you, if they did it accurately, I think it is also good no grip tape customization because I hate riding grip with junk on it, if I need something for tail I.D. I just use a colored nut but I've never had a board without a big enough nose for me to tell it apart from the tail before by just glancing at the top of it. I don't mean to sound like a hater on the board size I just think it would be way to much work for them just for that little bit of a difference.

I guess your right. A narrower board flips much easier, and a wider board is more stable for vert, but i guess the speed of the flip in Skate is based on how fast you direct the analogue stick. So it'd be null and void.

I think trucks tightness is pretty dang ballin if you ask me, as long as it doesnt go into depth with back truck tighter then front cause thats how most people skate, I do but thats to much to fool with, I am skating a 7.8125 right now and I love big boards, I can't stand 7.75 or lower but if its much lower than 7.8 then I have a hard time doing good because I've skated this one for about 2 weeks now and am used to it. I do hope though that the flicking speed changes the board flipping pretty nicely, because I am sick of the same 3 flip or big flip everytime I played hawk. The only reason why I even bothered with Project 8 and beating it is because i fooled with THUG 2 and if I was still sane after dealing with Bam's garbage then maybe I can handle bailing and ridiculously huge lines for owned spots and comps. The real reason though is because I wanted a skate game to have 1000 points on my 360 but looks like I'm waiting for skate, because that game is ridiculously frustratingly freaking hard as a mother. For sick and rank 1, I'm rank 3 and screw you tony. Anyways, happy for truck colors and tightness as well, and paint wear on the board.
