Is there a way to get a handicap? If so, how?

Hey everyone, just so you guys know, we are flushing out some technical issues and will not have tournaments up until this process is complete. Sorry for the inconvenience. We will try to have them up and running again as soon as possible.

Thanks Hands, I'm not familiar with that system. Can you tell us more about how it works? Looking forward to it.

Hey guys, just to upadate, there will be events going up later today.

On another note, I have laid out an event schedule for the entire year. A few important notes...

1) There will be a Daily AM every day
2) Daily Pro will be Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun
3) TPX will be on Tues and Thurs
4) Weeklies will be primarily 1 AM and 1 PRO. I will ocassionally (1 out of 5 weeks) replace the PRO with a TPX event.

Hope you like. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

I won't have time to get this made and tested until next week. But for a brief overview, the top 25 have larger gaps between each other and then from 26 on down, you will see the same small drops for each position that you see now. From the feedback on ps3 and 360, everyone seems to like it. It rewards the top finishers while still giving out plenty of earnings to those outside the top 25.

Both of your last post sound great Hands...

The scoring system is a great addition, and having not only 2 TPX Daily events, but also about one TPX Weekly a month would be like a dream come true

The game is released in UK for one day now and we see the same persons high ranked in the daily am LB. It´s a joke. All the improvements are worth a penny EA. As long m- and classic putting is allowed it´s useless to play them this year. Did you show the Augusta people the effects of m- and classic putting before you released the game? -23 (nice one cosmicsheep (UK player). This game s*cks. Come on EA have the nuts to make it mandatory to play TPX for everyone, if you want it to be REAL golf Then i can spent my 50€ for something else.

I am currently playing the advanced plus and would like to know if there is a certain camera angle that you have to play on tour as I trying to practice to come on line. I would like to play the game exactly how it is being played online but am not sure if there is a particular setting for the camera angle that is different online from Road to the Masteries. If anyone is able to answer this for me it would be greatly appreciated.

when you play an online game you will get whatever camera angle you have set in your offline options. meaning you can play standard swing and still use a true view camera. to be competitive with the masses, peeps mostly use standard swing with classic camera unless you set a lobby game where you can force a certain swing type but not camera on your opponent.

Neil

plus at any point during an online game you can hit + and change camera/swing in options

Since starting playing the live tournaments I have noticed a couple of things ;

Scores in the am tournies are not much different to TW11 as of yet. The settings have not been to challenging as yet though. It seems that so far the tournaments I have seen have been won with a pitch in or two.

Scores in the pro tournaments are well down on TW11. I have played a couple, one at E Dragon +3 and one at East Lake -5. The winning scores have been around about 10 under or less. I am used to seeing -20 in the pro tournies. I really enjoyed playing these pro rounds and hope they continue to offer a challenge.

22nd out of 22 finishers so far in today's Augusta National pro level tourney. But I did have the thrill of sinking a 53 foot putt for birdie. I refuse to replay the course in hopes of a lower score. My philosophy is 'one try, no dropping out, record your score'. I wish that's the way it worked for all.

I like your philosophy. Just play to your own ability and enjoy yourself. My highlight in todays round at Augusta was eagling the par 5 on the back 9 with the water running in front of the green. The Golden Bell par 3 got me though as I found the water.

One thing i hated about doing the daily's in TW11 was the outrageous scores achieved all because people can keep teeing up again and again untill the desired score was achieved. So another good reason for me not to buy TW12.
Roll on TW13 and please make it good EA.

Are there fllghted tourneys or something?? Tourneys with people of your experience level???I would love to play for the fun of competing...but a 51??? Any options for a true amateur?
Thanks,

this is why the online numbers for the game are so poor. i play real golf and greatly enjoy it but i wouldnt enter a scratch event knowing i had no chance of winning. handicapping is there so that we can all enjoy and compete no matter what our level, INCLUSION not EXCLUSION

In another thread that is exactly what I said the reason for low online play participation was. Many people come online and expect to win shooting in the -teens, only to find out you can't get into the top 10-20 unless you birdy/eagle every hole. My first online trny game I shot 60, 3-4 mths later I was winning a few Am and Pro trnys.

All I can say is you have to be deticated and take the time to learn how to shoot low. Anyone needing help go to the link below, if I hadn't watched the video on this link I don't think my game would be where its at. Big tks to NCD for takeing the time to make the video. It is not a video of TW12, but it shows the basic on how to get close to the pin. There are other tips at that site that will help you to.

What a lot of people don't realize, is that many players are able to shoot -22 with only one try. So while a lot of people seem to think that one-try tournaments would reduce the scores a lot, that would most likely not be the case. In addition to that concept, many players would play the tournament a few times offline before they submitted, which would only help their one-try scores as well.
