Except for Shift and Porsche Unleashed every NFS is a game about street racing.

I don't see why it's such a bad idea. It was almost purely curvy tracks with cars that were well balanced against each other for the most part. It was a fun game that would do really well with modern graphic capabilities. After all, a large part of the game was having the coolest looking car. It showed a side of the scene that wasn't street racing and running from cops. Which neither Hot Pursuit or Most Wanted showed.

As for what other people say. You get mad that someone comes along and says "No, I don't think another Hot Pursuit or Road & Track is a good idea." in a thread devoted to that. So why do we think it's a good idea to come along and spam the hell out of a thread that is the opposite?

I guess I'm saying people shouldn't throw bricks in glass houses. Or go to the bathroom either.

Let's face it:
1. They earned a lot of money on Underground series.
2. NFS became popular becouse of Underground series.
3. After Carbon game has turned into a s**t.
4. They don't care about our feedback.
5. They won't (re)publish Underground 3 / Underground East

Actually Most Wanted was EA's most successful NFS title.

Hot Pursuit brought NFS to the map.

Shift and the new Hot Pursuit are generally liked by the community. Also both games have better receptions than the Underground series.

I don't think so. There's a reason they've added some challenge series for The Run.

Underground and classic NFS fanboys are ******* ridicolous.

Apples and cherries. You can't make perfect game for everyone. But,most people would love to see tuning back on NFS.

And,about feedback.. hm,there was some great ideas about game (best in my opinion is map for NFS World),20$ says that moderators didn't even see topic.

Edit: I don't want to coment NFS titles like HP 2010 and Shift, that is not point of this topic.

I didn't encourage you to talk about HP 2010 and Shift, but to make it clear, that some games after Carbon are just as great as your beloved Underground games. And what's up with Apples and Cherries? What I wrote makes completely sense and can be backed up with sources.

It's true that many ppl would like to see tuning back in NFS, but I'm quite sure that EA has taken your feedback in consideration. I mean, Hot Pursuit players had to wait for six years for HP3, but they still got a sequel. People demanded for a UG/MW sequel.

Guess what? EA at least has added the Challenge Series. If you still think your feedback won't be taken serious in future, you can also stop writing your ideas, stop complaining and log off. There are also other ppl that write feedbacks and like you said, you can't make a game for everyone.

Making an Underground sequel in the way the OP says won't work nowadays. The import scene has grown up and out of the FnF portrayal to a more D1/Initial D/Wangan Midnight portrayal (which is more true to its roots). Neons, scissor doors, massive car audio systems were kind of a fad popularized by the media.

Basically if EA someday releases an Underground sequel, it should be more akin to Initial D/Wangan Midnight/Tokyo Xtreme Racer manga/anime-game (respectively) series.

I agree that the idea of tacky has generally fallen to the wayside in the media. But I still see amateur auto shows in Europe and (more often and wilder) in Japan. And some of the stuff they do to the cars is just insane.

Frankly, I'd say go for a game where you can put after-market parts in a car without tiers for the most part. Like not being forced to increase the bore and stroke in order to increase the valve timing like in the Shift series. I'd also think that a wide variety of body kits for each car would be important. Finally I'd recommend smaller displacement engines like in the original Underground series because while high end exotics are great there really are some wonderfully sporty and fun to drive cars farther down the price range.

We could also return to the idea of driving to actual points on the map for racing, hidden shops, having to drive to shops to upgrade, and extremely detailed tuning options.

The only change I'd make is the introduction of older cars that would be competitive and not over-bearing. Cars like the Porsche 914, Ford Mustang (original year), Toyota Corolla AE-86, and Volkswagon Golf Mk1.
