It seems like there's more going on with the camera options with this game versus Tiger 11, but it's hard to say how much of it is selectable. The tee shot looks like a cross between Tiger Woods 11's Presentation and True Aim camera's on the 360/PS3, with a hint of Wii's True View camera thrown in for the address through impact. Still need a lot more information on this title, but it's already showing more dynamics than I'd thought it might.
Finally, here's Brian Ekberg's impressions of the demo from Gamespot:
It's looking more and more like the PS3's Move update for Tiger Woods 11 will not include True View support. I figured they would have shown it in action or at least announced it at E3 were that to be the case. I'm a bit more stoked for ProStroke Golf as a result, in hopes that it will help fill the void in the hi-def, motion controller, golfer's eye perspective video game department. TW 11 on the 360 is currently getting the job done in the hi-def, hand held gamepad, third-person perspective department in my world...
As for who's on the cover of the golf game I buy? I don't know whose actions I find more reprehensible, Tiger Woods or John Daly. I'd prefer to have someone on the cover whom I respect more than either of these blokes, but that's not going to stop me from buying a game in which I'll see very little of either of them once I get past the skill challenges.

Thinking about John Daly's 66 in the first round of the British Open today... can you imagine what a John Daly win at the Open would do for the success of this game!?

I like how everyone thinks that this game is going to be some kind of a savior.
The thing hasn't even come out yet.
What if it has it's problems also?
I just find it weird people saying "Oh,as soon as Pro Stroke comes out I'm switching".
I think waiting to see what actually comes out and then deciding is a much better approach than thinking the game is going to be the end all to end all.
If it does then great but to sit around going "Pro Stroke is going to solve all our problems" seems a bit premature to me.
I haven't necessarily seen that in this thread but in a lot of others I have.

I'm sure this game will have plenty of its own problems. I know the original Prostroke Golf 2007 did on the XBox. I liked the innovative swing interface, but it wasn't ready for prime time at release, IMO. The game's presentation and dynamics were also quite drab. They really need to work on that if this game is going to have a chance.
I have a hunch that the game will have enough newness about its interface to keep me entertained for at least a long term rental (I'll have it on my Gamefly queue), but I have doubts it's going to answer all ills that I find with Tiger Woods XX.

If the guys at O-games would give a little bonus 5 or 10 dollars off with TW11 trade in I can see alot of guys dumping this smelly pile of crap TW11 game just to make a statement that they are sick of how EA is messing this game up from DLC pricing to online gameplay disasters.I would be first in line if these came about.

I sure hope so. Then maybe you'll stop whining about everything here!

You do realize this game is supposed to be more of a sim type golf game and not arcadey, right? Whether or not thats true or not I do not know.

Why on earth would the developer do this? Do you think they are so flush with cash they could afford to do such a thing? You DO realize their first game flopped badly because if focused solely on simulation users? We all know you cannot focus on one market segment in ANY Golf game and be successful. In light of your desire to play nothing but straight up arcade golf, you would hate this game more than you do TW11 because it won't have ANY of the arcade features you and your buddies like to play....might want to find out what kind of gameplay the Devs are intending for this version before making any broad predictions.
Lastly, opinions vary greatly in the forum as to how good or bad TW11 is.

Forum opinions are of no concern except to the handful of dedicated participants. Sadly, the world has shunned Tiger Woods 11, which is a shame.

Do you think 250,000 sales on the PS3/360 in the first month of sales is shunned? I could give you a list of developers who would kill to move that many copies of a product. In fact I'll go out on a limb right now and say the makers of John Daly ProStroke Golf will be delighted to no end if they can reach half those numbers...and sadly I'm doubting they can do even that come September.

Here's an interview with one of the developers along with some game footage:
Looks promising, even though there will only be 12 courses (and most likely no course architect planned).

Thanks for the link Yesrushdt! This game is getting a little more polished with each new preview, although the video quality in this one is a bit blurry. Game Trailers has a new gameplay video in hi-def which shows it in its best light I think. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/the-belfry-john-dalys/703578
BTW, I thought it was almost scary how much Greg Lanz reminds me of Eric Busch... even his mannerisms while speaking Did anyone else notice that?
Also, here's a snip of my comments about the Game Trailers video that I posted at OS:
I saw a number of things that I'm curious about. First, I see a camera button on the HUD, and I'm curious as to how many options are available. I'd like to see some versatility here. The presentation of the tee shot and the 3-3-iron approach used camera techniques that I thought were okay. I would like to have the option to hold the golfer's perspective view a little longer before switching to a downrange camera though.
The second thing I noticed was a "Caddie View" button. I'm very curious about that... can't tell what it means, but I had to watch the video with no sound at the PC from which I'm viewing it.
Finally - and this is what bothers me the most at this point - I noticed during the putt, the player was swinging with a 92% swing on a 10 foot putt. It looked like they'd selected a "10 foot" putt range and were scaling their input based on that. Puhleeze don't tell me their going to have scaleable putt ranges in this game!? What's the point in having a fully proportional controller, if you're going to allow something this cheesy to negate it??
I'm hoping maybe that's a function of the level of difficulty being played because multiple putter ranges have no place in a golf game this day and age, particularly one using a motion controller!

Good eye John, I knew you'd be good to do a well-informed frame disection for us all.
What caught me from watching the video was:
1. $10 off regular price is saying to me it's lacking in features
2. Features lacking could be create-a-golfer, they say the only pro is Daly, only 12 courses, doesn't sound like a big career mode, no mention of online play including tournaments.
3. The thing that struck me with the graphics was it felt a bit like watching Wallace and Grommet golf with that claymation type of look.
4. I do like the thought that you could control trajectory via swing, they made it sound like you would control whether you did a punch shot and other specialty shots on your own.
6. The putting "sweep" past the cup looked a little cheesey.
7. No mention of Kinect support for 360.
Can't see this being something to top TW but hoping it brings some new thought processes to the video golf table to perk EA's ears.

1.) Their original game, ProStroke Golf 2007 was $10 off so I don't find this surprising.
2.) I think Greg said there would only be 8 golfers in the game, other than Daly. That will be pretty limiting IMO. There wasn't a create a golfer in ProStroke Golf 2007, and I've read nothing to indicate there will be one here.
3.) Even though the graphics have improved, they're still pretty plain. I'm not an overly * graphics zealot and I'll just say that these graphics will suffice as long as the gameplay can carry the overall game.
EDIT: I found the following in another hands-on preview about this:
Challenge, Tournament, Exhibition and Practice modes will be included in the final package. The game is planned ship with a mix of twelve real-world and fantasy courses, with four more planned as DLC, post-release. While not 100% confirmed, new golfers and possibly tournaments may also be included in the DLC.
4.) Yes, and that sends a message to me that they've possibly given thought to more intuition in all shot types.
6.) Agreed... it looks forced, but it's actually an improvement over what they had in ProStroke 2007. The area of greatest concern for me with this game is now the putting game. Multiple putter range selectivity, particularly in the most advanced difficulty level, will strip it of any chance for my gaming dollar.
7.) Kinect is a "no-go" for the XBox 360 version. This was covered in another developer interview I saw a few months back.
Having seen the two videos cited in the last two days, the game still remains a rental for me. With it's limited number of courses, golfers, and likely, limited online play options, it's going to have to really convey the sensation of hitting a golf shot with a swing motion that feels like it matters to sell me on it. However, if it uses multiple putter ranges, particularly with the Move, it has NO chance at being more than a rental for me, particularly since I'll have to buy a PS3 and a Move to play that version. The PS3 purchase is sort of on my radar anyway, primarily because I need a Blu-ray player, so that's not a big leap.
