Thanks for starting this topic.
I have some comments that I`d like to share,in hopes of being able to make everyone`s video golf more enjoyable.
I play golf to a high level of skill in the real world,....+2 hcp.
As well, but relevent at a different level,I have been a greenskeeper for 20 yrs at many different courses across western Canada
I mention this only to reveal that I have a golf background.....playing the game, and taking care of the hallowed grounds.
I`m not going to go into a flaming rant,....or kiss any butt.....I`m just going to talk about the game like a civil person.
This is probably going to be long......
Firstly,...I`m mostly concerned about gameplay issues.
Presentation wise......who can really complain? If you enjoy video games and have been playing them since the beginning of video game time....then you should agree with me.....its great,...sure there are little mistakes/glitches here and there in everything.
It`s a video game,......reality is calling.
My issues are with gameplay......for the hardcore and the recreational gamer.....just like in real life to a degree.
We all want an enjoyable experience, and I realize that technology limits what can be done,...and I take that into account in my comments.
In respect to a sports game like Tiger Woods 10,.....or many others that EA and others produce,....there is a wide variety of fans and how they like their gaming.
These days, technology allows us to get some pretty great gaming.....on that I think we can all agree,no?
Personally,...if I had the ability to make these changes...this is what I would do:
- Provide to those who would like it, a more realistic difficulty/less accurate shotmaking type of gameplay.....
...shot dispersion is way, way, way too tight/good compared to real life...which makes the game too easy.
- Putting is too easy,.....I think that the Precision stroke is great,....the problem is in with the probability of making putts is way, way, way too high.....making the game too easy.Real world putting statistics should be represented,it`s just so unrealistic right now,it`s not even funny.
It`s not hard to make a great stroke/ and read the green great too, just like in real life....but the percentage of putts made decreases rapidly the further away you get from the hole.....from close range 0-2 to 3 feet,yes....the make % is high,...but as you move further away this is what you get...
http://probablegolfinstruction.com/Oneputt%25.jpg
In the real world....which is what we`d like to see a closer simulation of,and which I think is possible in a patch.....would be to adjust the difficulty in some way to reflect this graph.
Some real world probablility/statistics should be applied across the board for all shots from all types of lies....which I think is probably still possible....this would satisfy those who like more realistic scoring.
-Moving the ball within the teeing area prior to hitting a tee shot,....this would be a good feature to add,.....cna be done to some degree in "Practice" mode,...but not the game?
- Video game wind is "stronger" than real wind in incremental units.....the way it is now,a 10 mph wind plays like 20-25 mph win in real life.......I have no issue with the video game`s wind effects,.....just that maybe we could get a more realistic increment label to reflect a real world speed. (not a big issue,..lower priority for sure,as the gameplay effect is still fine.
- Rules of Golf, in regards to video game play.....things like options for drops when one has hit his ball into a water hazard are not entirely correct, some options are missing....for example options for a lateral water hazard.
Why is this totally messed up? I can see not having some real world rules incidents programmed,....but essential rules like for balls in hazards not being programmed correctly is a lack of attention to detail. It is comparable to making Madden NFL 10 and the game is programmed for 3 down football, Canadian Footbal League style.
Shotmaking Tee to Green- again too easy. Real world statistics being represented would be more enjoyable.
Dispersion of even perfect video golf swings should be spread out a lot more than is represented......it would make the great "shots" even greater........
Making the game more difficult by way of adding/fixing some things isn`t a bad thing....some of us want it to be difficult/frustrating but in a good way.......the way the real game is.
The arcade style fans can still play with the features present,....as the game suits them pretty good right now.....but the realism crowd isn`t getting something that we`re wanting.
You`re so close, the changes I`ve mentioned here aren`t impossible to make happen, but would go a long way to satisfy a large number of EA Tiger Woods PGA Tour fans.
Everything else is great,IMO......
Great suggestions there!

Yes, a save game option would be nice, the PC version has it so why not the consoles?

I gave up on the next to last challange. You have to get 2 eagles and a birdie on 3 holes to beat Tiger. Impossible!
Tiger hits the ball into the grandstands on the last hole everytime for his 2nd shot and then putts in for an eagle.
His ball wasn't even on teh green. How can you beat that? After 5 days I wasn't able to eagle the last hole so I figured it was not worth any more effort.

After three weeks of intense gaming I can now tell some of my thoughts.
1) Achievements in Xbox360 version are WAY better than they were last year.
2) New putting system is more difficult, but also more rewarding.
3) Live Weather is great, but the rain won't wet my character's clothes or form ponds of water on the field.
4) Almost everyone uses a max stats suit online and I hate it.
5) Game freezes from time to time and installing it to a hard drive didn't help. This didn't happen last year.
6) Menus are too elaborate to use. In TW11 they should be simplified.
7) Scott Van Pelt is better commentator than Sam Torrance was last year.
8 ) Online play has some lag, but it doesn't affect the gameplay that much.
9) Playing TW10 is so relaxing after a hard night's work in Gears of War 2.
EDIT: 10) Tournament Challenge is TOO HARD. I've completed 43% and I have no intentions what so ever to bang my head against the wall and try to beat it. Game requires almost a perfect performance and I just can't do it.

That's a setting in Game Options (2nd menu item) under My Tiger 10 (last menu item from the main menu).

Here, is my Impression of the Game.
A) Not very Believable or Fair. Have played 2 seasons and in both seasons WOODS has Birdied,Eagled and Aced EVERY SINGLE Hole in the last 4 Tourneys of the season.
B) The Cup Placements at Pinehurst No. 2 are unrealistic (there is one Par three in which there is only a 4 inch square of FLAT green- which is nearly impossible to hit AND stay on as the wind on this hole is normally 10 to 29 MPH.)
C) Having to Pound on the X button to work up 110 -120 % power just to land a decent lie is hard on both your thumb and on the controller.
D) the unrealistic performances of the AI golfers is BS (had a round in which Mickleson Eagled 7 holes in a Row[with an ace in ther as one of the 7 was a par 3] ).
E) has anyone EVER seen a Pro Golfer in Real life shoot a 20 for an 18 hole round at St. Andrews IN Gale Force winds? Had a Round in which BEGAY did that in my game.
In Short, Not belivable, they really screwed this one up. And the 2 worst Courses for Glitchy ness are Pinehurst and East lake (Bethpage is also really bad) . They should have left in the Option for wind control (to change how hard the wind is) Live weather is a joke, And the AI is seriously screwed up. Oh and one more thought A Double Eagle? That is only likely to happen as it did for me BY ACCIDENT.
Wish I hadn't wasted my money on this one. TW 08 was good,so was 09 - 10 SUCKS.

First off I am a big fan of the TW series and purchase the new versions as soon as they come out every year. I like alot of the changes in TW 10 (PS3), espescially the new putting system and bringing back the weather and real tee times. I still think theirs some game play issues that make the game repetative and un realistic. For example if you've ever watched Tiger and the other pros on t.v you know that the carry the ball much farther and hit it much higher, i'm pretty sure tiger can carry a 3 wood over 220 yards in the air. Also I find the game is a little too easy even on tour pro difficulty. Another thing that bothers me every year I get the game is having to unlock a large number of the golf courses, I really don't care to have to play all the tournament challanges to unlock the courses. Something that also would be cool is if you could play the PGA Tour season mode as Tiger or one of the other golfers in the game. Also I think authentic swings for the tour players would be a nice touch. I hate to nit pick cause the truth is the game does improve every year and I think the guys at EA are really close to going from a great game to an awsome game. A little more focus on gameplay and realisim is all thats needed.

over all a realistic game except on challenges involving Tiger Woods. If you are on the green in under GIR, most of the time Tiger Chips in for eagle. He's good, but not that good.

Love the game, just a few changes I would like to see made:
1. Better camera angles when watching opponents shots. There are too many occasions when I can't see my opponents' shots due to poor, distant camera angles that trees etc. interfere with.
2. When playing stroke simultaneous the putting camera angle changes, making it slightly more awkward to read the break of putts.
3. The difficulty of putting needs to be ramped up severely so players who hit accurate approach shots are rewarded. Perhaps limiting the amount of putt previews per round would be a good place to start.
4. A way of recognising who is and who is not using an auto-fire joypad so there can be separate games/tournies for each type of player. I'm sick of busting my hump trying to finish in the top 10 or top 25 using sweetspots between 35-70%. It only takes one shank or short par 4 missed green to take away all the good work from aces or holeouts already achieved. The low-mid boost %'s are also harder to consistently achieve with a stock controller.

LOVE the precision putting!!! Now, If we could only do something about those darn $7.50 downloadable courses from years past. I think the game plays great this year though. Less glitches than usual. It would sure be nice to see them skip a year and just come out with a whole disc of new courses, but I know better than that. I'll see Jesus before I see that!!! I'd like to see a better variety of clothes and accessories like in 2003-2005 though to be honest

Defeats the whole point of playing with a 6-axis. Contrary to popular belief there are many players that enjoy the inconsistency of swing accuracy that a stock controller provides. Taking away x/y axis removes any skill/reality left in the game. If you want laser accuracy then buy an Intec for $9 and save yourself $5.
I think ultimately the hardcore followers of TW will eventually migrate back to a stock controller. It becomes very predictable and almost dull playing with a str8 shooter/straight shooting widget all the time.
Well put. It's so much more rewarding to go through the trouble and stick to the stock controller. I don't get either what's the point of laser golf in the long run.
I've been enjoying this year's version very much, mainly because of the precision putter. Taking away the helpers (green grid, putting meter) have added plenty as well. Highly recommended...
