ps3.Niphty wrote:You know, I understand the issues and the complaints here, but do you guys really think a patch to something like this would be ready to go in a week or two? Seriously. I know none of you understand programming, so let me clue you in: it ain't easy. So rather than doing what you're all complaining EA has done and forcing them to patch QUICK instead of RIGHT, how about you just take the game back instead of whining about it. True fans of the series will wait patiently for the patch to come out. I, personally, want them to take the time they NEED to get it done.
So stop being like EA while complaining about how they rush things. Let them take their time and do it right. End. Of. Story.
give the name of one store that will allow returns on opened video games. gamestop is willing to pay me $25 for a trade in, bestbuy absolutely refuses a return. where did my $60+tax go? even if they to eventually fix it... first of all i bought this game to PLAY it, not to buy it and WAIT for a patch. i think EA's reputation will be ruined for all those of who bought this game. that might be a small percentage but i hope it will make a difference on EA's next quarterly report and hopefully make slightly mad studio go out of business they do not deserve to be a game developing company. anyways time to watch kimbo slice up roy's @ss

First step is to try and get a refund, explaing the situation, and you may find a resaonable person.
If you purchased with a credit card, then file a dispute to reverse the charge, then you have more time than the normal 30 days to get this settled. You generally have 30 days or more after receiving your first bill with that charge to file a dispute.
Another strategy is to repeatedly exchange the game, in hope that a future batch of DVD's won't have the problem you experience now. If they forget to open the exchanged product, then take that back for a refund, since it's no longer "opened" software (this is technically good enough for Best Buy) If they complain about this, point out the fact that EA doesn't offer a refund, only to return a sealed game for an opened one. The only difference is you got a sealed box from from the store instead of EA, but the outcome is the same, you exchanged an open copy for a sealed on in order to return the defective product.

In addition to this bouncing problem I've also noticed this bizarre glitch when i was using the Lotus Exige S in the Invitational Event on Dakota Club. Whenever I crashed into anything the front left tire would either go into my car (like in the bumper) or under the car in the wrong spot and the car would go crazy and start jumping, spinning, and flipping everywhere uncontrollably. It seems that the physics were screwed up because the wheel went into the car or out of the normal position.

i m playin on a XBOX360 with the microsoft XBOX360 steerin wheel and i noticed a lot of problem in INVITATIONAL EVENT i spent € 64,00 to buy a bugged game and this could be my first and last NFS if is not released asap a patch to solve ALL (and i guess HOW this game took so high score on all major game website!?!?!)
in the event FORD GT vs VIPER SRT10 the viper dont start from the line
in the event VEYRON 16.4 NORDSCHLEIFE the car is undriveable due to bouncin at low speed....
in the event MCLAREN F1 vs 722 EDITION the MCLAREN go everywhere except on the track looks like have and on/off throttle
in the event CARRERA GT SPA GT the car start to bounce when i reach a speed around 180 km/h
i stopped to play on INVITATIONAL EVENT otherwise i seriously break somethin in my room, then i dont use editor too cause miss some important option like COPY (to copy a set of vinyls from the right to the left side of the car) there isn t too an option durin offline race to tune car between a championship event (i dont talk to change during race but immediatly before the start) as happen in all the other serious drivin simulation.
hope to finish really fast this game and then bring back to gamestop to buy somethin more serious

Wanted to Post here to add to the thread for all of our, and EA's benefit.
I started the game, and have a RX-8. I am at level 12 or 13 Driver wise, Tier Three is unlocked. I have ONLy done the Tier one mods, and the weight reduction/race mods.
I have also ONLY done the tier one races and invitationals.
The Viper/Ford GT race.. the Viper I chose would skitter bouncing off the track in corners, and at low speed it was still doing it.
THe RX-8 was a complete challenge on fast lane changes, and I ended up semi defeating the bounce by letting it go wide and glance off a wall on some of the level 1 races. On the time trials at the end of level one, I am UNABLE to complete the race.
I can make a VERY fast lap for the first lap, but as time progresses the car becomes less and less controlable. The bounce is a rocking from rocker panel to rocker panel bounce, that will induce a spin, and or the car to lift off and slam the fence at the bottom of the track.
This lack of controlability gets worse as the race progresses to the point that it is impossible to drive the streights.
Yes im waiting for a patch. Sadly this will be the last NFS game I buy.
It simply isnt worth the 50 bucks to buy a game that is going to be half baked out of the box.
I remember one of the former NFS games had a nice problem with the rivals blasting past you at the last levels. in cars that were horribly lower classed than yours.
The mindset of what is being done as company policy is absurd. I thought mistakenly this would a GRID style game with upgrades and all the things we wanted for GRID to have.... Sadly it is so poorly finished at this point its unplayable.

Just an update on my earlier post. Since i've gotten the word out about how this game is incomplete, there's now 3 full boxes of NFS shift for ps3, 2 boxes for 360, and like 2 boxes for pc just chilling in the warehouse at my work. I've stopped customers from buying this game by showing them the youtube postings and this forum. EA raped me for $60, I've gotten them back for quite a lot more and I will not sell this game to any of my customers until a fix is released.

Holy crap...I thought it was just my sucky driving skills! I knew there was something crazy going on...I've progressed far enough to open up the Bugatti Veyron Invitational, and it's an absolute nightmare to play. I thought it was just me! Only now as I changed the view to the external camera view do I see why it's so freakin' difficult!
And what's worse, I was able to get in front (I played really, really dirty), get 1st, and then when I get to the results screen, it resets back to the PS3 XMB! WHAT THE F? I must have played that race like all night last night.
This is the third or fourth time the reset thing has happened and it's absolutely infuriating! And they want me to reset my save so it will fix the problem? YEAH right.
This is really a mess, EA. Fix it...this shouldn't be happening on a CONSOLE game. I knew I should have just bought it for the PC. Then at least I'd be used to it.

Well after the fourth time of restarting my game (PS3) I found that I can actually use the Viper in the 'Invitational Event' and I know that all the other races will be fine now. No more bouncing finally.
The solution was to NOT do any tuning what-so-ever (which is a bummer) but honestly, the tuning in these games does absolute stuff all for your drving. If anything, it made my car worse to drive. I found the default settings in the advanced tuning work better but like I said, don't tune and you won't bounce.
All in all, I do enjoy this game but I have no choice to re-think future purchases with EA games.

yep, I am on PS3 and built a Stage3 Works CamaroSS, had some massive bouncing on the final lap that cost me the race. I am not sure but it seems to be a glich in the suspension rebound program,

Any word on an upcoming patch for the PS3 version. The frame rate drops, audio issues, EA nation disconnections, and bouncing issues are really frustrating. This game is great like 80% of the time but when it starts to hiccup it turns into a nightmare.

Err, right, why not bankrupt the business by not selling any more games. That'll show em!

cem_ea_id.Induction wrote:BOUNCING CAR PROBLEM, ERRADIC PHYSICS, and MISC GLITCHES THREAD
I have found a major problem with the game that many of you are probably starting to notice, and that is that on many of the higher level invitational events, as well as on many cars in general (regardless of event), there are bizarre bouncing issues or generally erradic behavior that makes the game completely unplayable. What will happen is that the car will start bouncing and won't stop, only getting worse and worse, bouncing you off track like hydraulics! The car will hit a small bump on the track and almost get stuck in a programming loop error or something.
As far as the erradic behavior of some of the other cars, like the E46M3 and EVO X, they do bizzare things like sliding forward with understeer and yet fishtailing at the same time, or spinning out erradically with normal brake usage, or bouncing excessively on shifts, etc. What's funny with this, and why it's so obvious that it's programming errors (or badly programmed model-specific physics) is that many of the cars in this game feel great and very spot on, while some feel horrendously bad and flat out poorly programmed.
The good news with this, however, is that these are clearly programming errors and that hopefully means patches will be in the works soon, making this game much more realistic and much more enjoyable. Also, EA... if you're listening, please fix the bug where the girl with the flag is clipping inside of the car at the start of the race, as well as the fact that when you hit the "a" button to skip the sequence, it selects the gear in the process. If you're playing with inverse shifting enabled, this puts you into reverse at the start of the race! If anyone else has any problems that need patching, please use this thread so that EA can find all of this info as quickly and efficiently as possible, thanks.
I am on Xbox 360 and have noticed all of these traits.
