i still wish fnc had the look of r3.
apart from that looks great.

thing I instantly picked up on is the punches appear to have their much hyped about power to them

Please carry this over into the competitive online modes

Dont cave into people who don't want to learn how to box and set up flurries appropriately

People Need to learn that getting punched hurts and that there are Severe consequences for fighting recklessly

Theres a reason most fighters just don't get in the ring and brawl like a silly Tough-Man contest

Respect the science as always

Perfectly put. It's not rock em sock em. It's boxing. It's a sport. It's the sweet science.

It looks better, I really like the different Punch animations, The footwork looks improved but if you guys could change a few things it would be

Fighters footwork needs to be faster from left to right and faster in moving in angles.

Let fighters have different animations for stun states

Give the Ref some in Game Dialogue like

Pick it up, You need to defend yourself or I will stop the fight. Another one of those and will cost you a Point. Watch your Heads. Break it up, Keep them Up. Something other than cut scenes. It is nice to see him make the transition into gameplay, other than that...He is pretty much a stage prop.

Punch Reactions need to be increased visually

Punch connect sounds need a overall.. The sound does not really match or sound authenic.

Crowd needs to be much more involved.

Hopefully these can be addressed

My only gripe is why isnt SIM rules default? This is exactly how a boxing game should look. (minus hearns looking overweight)

combos look very crisp all punches are done great, the textures are awesome faicail expressions look real, liked when Hagler got the wind knocked out of him, i like the ending were Hearns falls to the mat stiffened pretty realistic knockout cut scene looks good, and the lack of hud clutter is good.

something i would suggest is mabey stumbling a little bit when some one gets tagged or knocked down

I am really impressed after watching the new video.

The punches finally look more fluid with impact.

Lunging blows look awesome.

Stamina actually means something.

Simulation settings so you can box with strategy.

The only things that let the video down in my eyes were punch sounds and lighting, If they can be added i think its a job really well done.

it was easy to see the difference in FNC from the other vids as well, but you people were so EASY....

yea lol they couldnt tell the differences at first but i could
I agree with the both of you...I could see all the improvements from the other vids released as well.

whats even worst is, a few TOP GUYS on this site were even down playing the early videos..guys who were suppose to be PROFESSIONALS on this series, they even had bad things to say. So maby they were not the people we needed to hear from. Personally i saw early how the framerate and punches showed better snap....

no wounder EA cant get a better understanding of whats needed in this game.....The people hear really dont have a understanding of connecting gameplay fixes to the producers properly

Sorry, but the complaints about the earlier "stamina" videos were not directed towards the frame rate or the lack of snap in the punches...but was directed at the actual game play lacking depth, and looking exactly like the spam fest that was Round 4.

With that said, the new video definitely looks better, and for me, the game is worth considering again. Thanks for listening and the good work.

Red Dead Redemption was linear, but I think it had the best game story of 2010.
While I agree I think with a game like this, a sports game "story mode" you need either some branches or the ability to use different characters. RDR yes was linear but it was long as hell and the characters were super engaging. Now, Champion Mode may have engaging characters but GODDAMN do they look cliched.

I agree about the multiple characters thing.

It's kinda hard not to be cliched in a boxing story though. I mean every boxing movie has the same story basically. It's all about execution

Virtually all genre of stories are cliched. That's why they're a genre. We've been telling the same stories for how many thousands of years now? It really is about execution. Good point, Mec.

Still, we'll have to see if EA was able to come up with an engaging and unique take on this genre/story.

That aside, was this game play vid the perfect sim?

No.

Was it FAR better than I had anticipated?

HELL YEAH.

What this video REALLY does is show me that EA is taking us seriously, and genuinely striving to accomplish what us die-hards are hungry for. (While also having to find a way to appeal to the masses -- Champion Mode. It's just business).

I'm now convinced that within the next 4 years or so we WILL have our NBA2K11 boxing sim

WOOP, WOOP!!!

, dont think you are dropping some sort of lost knowledge.. i know what they made the vids for .. the execution ,lack of production was totally off.. and they quickly recognized that.. fall back.

xbox.Il Gladiatore wrote:Looks good! Let's hope that the sim elements of the gameplay just witnessed will be reflected when two online fighters that are only interested in winning fight...

Two things I'd like to question though:

1. Why does the jab for both Hagler AND Hearns curl rather than fire down the barrel? Is that the jab/hook hybrid we're seeing? Because Hearns had a dead straight, lengthy, piston like jab.

2. WHY OH WHY does the fighter SLIDE back after they knock someone down!? It's ridiculous!!!

Exactly. I was also wondering about these "curling" straights. Are they modifications, or default straights?

The slide back is distracting (ALL SLIDES ARE), but tolerable. For now.

I think this video looks brill. ( some guys on here are never happy )

Look, firstly most of you guys cant deny that FNC is a far superior game to FNrd4.

From what I have seen the gameplay aspects look great, animations , and stamina control looks great.

I think once the demo hits our beloved consoles lol most guys will be happy.
