My PC specification:

-Windows 7 Home premium
-Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 540 3.07GHz
-4GB RAM
-240GB harddisk
-Graph. card: ATI Radeon X1600 256 MB

Is there any way to make it possible to play the game with this graphic card? http://www.amd.com/us/products/notebook/graphics/ati-mobility-hd-x1000/x1600/Pages/x1600.aspx says that X1600 has full Shader Model 3.0 support. So it has min. 256 MB and has Shader Model 3.0. But it's not supported.

Yes, it is. I have updated it to 1.05.

If I launch the game, it tries launching few secs but then it shuts down and windows error shows up.

I found this on AMD's http://www.amd.com/us/products/notebook/graphics/ati-mobility-hd-x1000/x1600/Pages/x1600-specs.aspx: "Support for Microsoft® DirectX® 9.0 Shader Model 3.0 programmable vertex and pixel shaders in hardware." Im not sure whether this means that it has it or you need to download something, since I am relatively new to the world of PC gaming. All I can say is try to find out what you can (which I'm guessing you already are anyways) and download the latest drivers.

By the way just to make sure I'm telling you the right thing, what exactly does that error message say?

Error message says something like this (that is translated from Finnish) :
"Need for Speed??(TM) Hot Pursuit Application has stopped working

A problem interrupted the correct operation of the program. The Windows closes the program and notifies you if a solution to the problem available."

OK so that isn't a graphics card issue.

Its probably either that it wasn't installed right or that some software is messing it up.

SPECIFICATION:
- Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E4600 (@ 2.40 GHz, 2 CPUs)
- Motherboard: Gigabyte G31M-S2C
- Chipset: P35/G33/G31
- Memory: 3GB of RAM
- HDD: 246 GB (Drive C, my NFS Installation Partition)
- VGA: ATI Radeon X1550 Series (512 Mbytes)
- OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit, build 7600

PROBLEM:
When I started the NFS (Using the shortcut on the Desktop), The NFSHPN logo appeared. Then, when I was asked about the settings, I set into this:
- Graphic: Radeon X1550 Series
- Resolution: 800 x 600
- Speaker: Stereo
- Webcam ManyCam Video Source (a virtual webcam, I don't have any webcam)
After that, I pressed the Save & Exit button. Then, the screen was darken and the resolution was changed into a smaller size. Suddenly, it showed me the desktop and it says that the NFS has a problem. I tried to run with Administrator's Privilege, the problem remained the same. What should I do?

Thanks before..

I think the problem is Radeon x1550. Try download the latest driver first. Perhaps FPS for NFS Hot Pursuit too low if using Radeon x1550 series. Here for example reviews: http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleid=2098&page=5

What is the best operating system to play hot pursuit?

XP or 7?

I play with keyboard controls - old school, off course.

Maybe it's internet problem? What connection do you have?

Could be a driver-related issue. Anything below a Radeon HD 2xxx series is fairly old and no longer supported or is able to get future driver updates. While HP(2010) is now a few years old, it still requires a decent GPU, which the X1600 really is not all that good, especially in it's mobile form, since it's less powerful then the desktop version of that same GPU.

Lookup your laptop model and try the latest available ATI/AMD Radeon drivers (Catalyst) for your OS, and see if you have better luck.

Ensure that you have Visual C++ 2005/2008/2010 (all SP1 versions) installed.
If you have a 64bit OS, you need to install the 64bit versions of C++, as well as the 32bit versions.

Try updating your DirectX Runtimes as well, using Microsoft's DX Web Updater.
