They arent releasing 08 on the Wii.

Now unless they do sumthin to make me buy it for my PS2, then release 09 and future games on the Wii, then im gonna end up blowing off $700 for a PS3, cause i dont wanna wait any longer for the skill stick!!!!

Yeah I think NHL 08 would have been awesome on the Wii because they would have had the innovative controls and it would have been real interesting to see how it would have played.

yea, with the they could make the game really good, i even thought out controls! EA if ur putting 09 on the Wii, i think these controls would be good:

OFFENCE:
B+Flick of Wii Remote = Pass/
Flick of Wii Remote = Wrist Shot/
Moving Wii Remote Backwards, then Forwards = Slap Shot/
A+Movement of Wii Remote = Deke/
Nunchuk Stick = Movement/

DEFENCE:
Nunchuk+Wii Remote in any direction = Hit in that direction/
B+Flick of Wii Remote = Pass/
Movement of Wii Remote = Movement of Stick/

GOALIE
Wii Remote Moved Up Right = Blocker/Glove Save/
Wii Remote Moved Down Right = Right Pad Save/
Nunchuk Moved Up Left = Glove/Blocker Save/

well if they like money, why not put it on the Wii? thats just more money from sales!

i think its because the wii would have completely different controls and having a current gen, a next gen, and a wii version would take to long to make. on xbox360 and ps3 the controls are basically the same so thats the ng, xbox and ps2 are the same too.

yea, but if i remember correctly, for 07 EA Montreal did current gen and EA Vancouver took nextgen/360. cant they do the same thing, just get another EA group to do it?

well i didn't think it would be in the frist place. because if u remember; when the 360 came out nhl wasn't there (nhl 06), when PS3 came out, it wasn't there (nhl 07), so what they're probaly doing is building the game from the ground up again just like the 360

Well a quick search on GAMESPOT.COM and NO NHL ON WII... no 2k7 no 2k8 no EA NHL...

i agree about how it wasnt there for any of the connsols first year
but they might not do it for wii though cause it might be to complecated

yea, but the reason it didnt come out when 360 and PS3 came out, was cause the game was already released before those cosoles came out. the Wii has been out since what, December?

I have to say I am a little dissappointed that it isn't out on wii...I thought it might be fun with the different controls...

but once again MARKET SHARE may play a role...

NHL is likely a teen to adult game whereas nintendo markets mostly to kids/preteens... even though all the players in their commercials are ADULTS...

anyway EA probably viewed it as low sales estimate not worth the risk...
keeping in mind that it would likely need a whole new crew to make it since programming is proprietary per console

The Wii has out-sold the PS3 5-1, so sales would be pretty good
