Do you guys think EA would improve the AI so they actually move around infront of the net and attempt to deflect the puck in??

As we all know, the AI in that aspect and many others is down right horrible in NHL07. They just stand there til u take control of them.

Let's take it one step at a time..after all, this is EA sports we're talking about here. Let's see if they can master AI players being intelligent positionally, then proceed...

hahahaha..its sad but i have to admit u are right. thats where NHL 2k series is superior. if i remember correctly, they have had AI player deflection since 2K4 or the ESPN series. the only reason i moved back onto EA is they have much better graphics.

i ve got a great idea (from last years wishlist)

The directional pad is used for both line changes and tactical changes. How? I?ll explain?
Press the d-pad up and you?ll be able to make offensive line changes. (line 1= up, up, line 2= up, right, line 3= up, down and line4 will be up and then left)
Defensive line changes will be made by first pressing the d-pad down. (d-line 1= down, up, d-line 2 down, right etc?)
Now if you want to make a Defensive tactical change simply put the d-pad to the left and then start working like this (pressure = left, up contain puck= left, right etc.)
Offensive tactical changes are done by pressing the d-pad to the right and choose a tactic.
I hope that there will be more than just 4 defensive and 4 offensive tactics in NHL 08.
If this happens to be the case than you can make a selection of 4 before every game.
Now lets move on to the shoulder buttons, I want to keep R1 and 2 the way they were because they were good to use?
With L1 I wanted to do something special and L2, same story?I?ll mention those later.
Facebuttons,
A will be a special button that is used to make little fakes.
This is how it will work?
Quickly tap A and you will do a shoulder/head or leg fake (the one Crosby uses in shootout)
Hold it down and he will do a series of different fakes.
The Y button (when pressed and hold) will deliver a cheapshot wile still holding on to the puck. When just tapping the Y button your player will do a quick elbow or a push to prevent losing the puck.( less likely to be called a penalty)
The X button will have a player go to the front of the net for a one timer, this is pretty useful when you play with a different tactic and such a move could put some pressure on their defence + you can also use this and instead of a onetimer go back to the blue line. (your man will still be in front of the net) When back at the blueline you can shoot and the guy may or may not change the direction of the puck by tipping it out of the air?at least he?ll try to screen the goalie and pick up a rebound.
B button, when you face an opponent who is very good at breakaways you might consider having a guy who is not also attacking but is staying behind to help prevent breakaways?its perfect if you play against guys like Ovechkin and such?

thanx for that reply man. pretty interesting read and yah, that would be awesome. 2k is awesome in terms of making tactical improvement but their graphics are somewhat inferior compare to EA.

and how do u get the points on postings? jus curious cuz i dunno if i ever get any! lol

If I can remember correctly I believe it was in NHL 2001 for the PS2 that the computer defelcted pucks on there own. If a player on your team was passing through the slot and you shot the puck in his general direction he would tip it. So they obviously had the technology to do it in 2001 so they should easily be able to implement it in 2007.
