With all the focus on offense, I hope the defense is improved by having more abilities (like laying your stick on the ice) or making the swiping of your stick back and forth (to block the cross pass) more effective. Any news on this???

yeah your now able to use your right analogue stick to pokecheck wherever you want

thats what was missing from some of the other games, i mean in ice hockey you very rarly see a 1on1 where the defender just thrusts his stick forward, he sweeps the ice
