The face off system has also received some tweaks. Now you can't just jam buttons hoping to get the puck back to your defense - you'll actually have to time it as the puck drops. If you're too early, the referee will boot you out of the faceoff. After the puck drops, you can tie up the other center and try for a second time to win possession, or keep the other team occupied for long enough for another player to swoop in take control. According to 2K, much of this system was overseen by Joe Thornton, the Sharks' star center, who provided a significant amount of input on the game;
Sweet!!! O man. This is something that could have been implemented in old- gen hockey games. Still with EA this year, it sounds like the same face off controls, nothing to get excited about.
