Thanks for anyone who can help. Alright, well I'm playing in dynasty mode, and I realized that Crosby's contract was coming to an end, so I signed him to a new, more expensive deal. I then continued on playing no problem. All of a sudden now (a couple week later in the game), and I'm into my second playoff game, but I'm not allowed to play because I'm over the salary cap. I don't really get it, (how did it just suddenly take effect) So I went and released all my cheap players that I don't play. Unfortuantely, I'm still above the cap, and can't release anyone else to get under... so what can I do? I can't sign anyone new either. Thanks so much for any help.

How many players left do you have? I got the same prob but I got the solution but I think you said you tried it but if you have above 18 players, release them all till you get to the 18 player mark. If it doesnt work I'm sorry I tried :p .

I got no idea's so you might as well start over with new dynasty. I'm really sorry I wish I could help, but unfortunately I cant do anything about it . I have been playing with the Sens in the same dynasty for 2 years(in the game.) But in real life I think a week or so. Like I said in my last post here I had the same problem but I fixed releasing all my useless players. Try to start a new dynasty with the Pens(if your using 'em) mabye you will be more fortunate.

Try going into Contracts, re-Negotiating and giveing everyone a little less money. it works for me when I need it.

the only other suggestion that hasn't been offered that i can make is trying to renegotiate a contract with someone that is a bit over the top right now and see if they'll accept less than what their current contract is....

as soon as you renegotiate, the contract number takes effect....

so for example, let's say you talk to Recchi....he shows his demands where it's usually listed, and if it's less than his current contract, you re-sign him for that amount....

i've seen this happen...where the guy is actually asking for less in the new negotiation than he is currently making....you might get lucky...otherwise, i too have no other suggestions...

that's funny, because i used to thrive in madden like that.
id have a 99 at every starting position, and the way i balanced it was i would have all my contracts be much bigger at the back end. example: tom brady would make 3 mil in his 1st signed year, but by his 7th hed be at 15!
i would just repeat this process til i got bored of winning super bowls lol
