i like to say that i love this year's game. i am a die hard georgia tech fan and love the new playbook this year. however, when i play online there are certain guys who all they run on defense the entire game is the defensive scheme of run middle using the quarters defense. it completely jams the quarterback everytime. 90 percent of the time i can't even get away from the center before im tackled. it makes it impossible to run the triple option and extremely difficult to pass or run anything else due to that if you play with gt's playbook you know that they are run based without any shotgun (with exception of hail mary). i like the new defensive keys run left, right, and mid. but the run mid is very unfair playing field for those who use the georgia tech playbook. ive even tried going into practice mode to see what is effective against the run mid scheme/key and nothing is that effective. i would really love to see this fixed for next year's game. other than that i love this game.

There is a long thread about this in the general section. Some players report having success against this with a toss sweep. I don't know if the Ga Tech playbook has such a play. Shotgun speed options may also work, but you are correct almost any option from under center will take too long to develop.

EA:
Could you please have an on-line (live update) patch for NCAAFB10 to allow "broadcast" camera views, especially for cpu v. cpu games?
You had great presentation for your previous PS2 NCAA Football games. Please allow for the same great broadcast presentation for your PS3 version(s).
With thanx and loyally,

i agree with this 150% everytime i see something i can awlyas compare it to ps2 versions which in some cases i like them beter i liked the way the dynasties were run with how you could see hwat you were ranked going into a game, and when you got into the game you see corso, nessler, and kirk talkin to you about the game, c'mon guys please, take the phrase "respect your elders" and use the ideas fom the ol games, it would make dynasties so much more enjoyable, i will always play ncaa football
and another thing, it says you guys look at this thread well it would be nice once in awhile to see that you did so drop a message off and tell how NCAA 10 is coming along. Thanks guys.

I've noticed a few issues with the Iowa Hawkeyes that I hope can be fixed for NCAA 11.
- They got new artificial turf this year (FieldTurf). With this the endzones are now black.
- The opposing team's section is in the wrong spot. In the game it's behind the north endzone when it really is in the SE corner.
- The facemasks in the game are white when they should be black (at least the home jerseys don't have yellow numbers like in NCAA 09 )
- On a few plays that send players in motion the WR will collide with another WR who is set. I'm sure this issue doesn't affect just Iowa's playbook.
- Ask Corso - When using this feature it seems to like the play action pass and half the plays are PA. Hopefully you can balance this out in NCAA 11 so that has more standard passes instead of mostly PA.

Simple request - can you please put formation subs back in the game? Not talking about the ones from the play selection. You used to have the ability to change around your receivers for specific sets, or get creative on where you played your defenders from the strategy menu (where depth chart is). I like the options that are available now but it's not in-depth enough. You can't set up your gunners on punt coverage, change your holder, etc.
Old formation subs offered nearly full control over making subs - now we're at the mercy of the EA-offered swaps from play selection.

I'm not gonna lie, I liked Ncaa 08 way better Than this Ncaa 10. While I never played Ncaa 09 I would say that 10 shows that the games have been declining since 08.
There are quite a few more things I would liked to be fixed. One is, could you please make the players more aware? Even with 99 awr my linebackers run backwards when the running back is running right at them. So what if it's a zone def? The players should be able to recognize it's a run if the guy with the ball is coming right at them, it causes at least 5 yard gains against me if not more. Another thing is that I would like to switch to the player closest to the ball like in some of the old games. I'm tired of switching to someone like the safety when i need to be a linebacker or corner. Idk how you come up with how that all works, maybe it's who you think is best going to make the play, idk but i would just like to be the closest person to the ball. Another thing is you need to make the dynasties more fun. What happened to the offseason training drills? I loved those. Now all you do is press a and it simulates the training for you. That's no fun. That brings up another point that you have no tutorial's for beginners at the game. I'm not a beginner but if I was I would have no idea how to play or use the new features. Another thing that's not quite as big is that you don't have the momentum shifter at the top. I believe you did put the momentum in the game but you can't really tell unless you see it happen and you get completely screwed over when you throw a pick 6 and fumble the ball once you get it again and they return it for a touchdown...I would just like to know when i have the momentum. I would also like a squib kick, the announcer's keep talking about squib kicks but there is none, there really aren't that many trick plays in the game either. Another small thing is that it looks awkward when the quarterback is in the pocket moving around and it also looks awkward when he throws the ball...that could change a little bit but that's nothing huge. something else is that you really can't put people in different places like in fomations and stuff. Like one of the other people said earlier...it's not in-depth enough.
I would rerally like to see changes in this game....if this performance continues idk if i'm going to continue to buy these ncaa games..I was really dissapointed in Ncaa 10

Never have I ever seen the Iowa Hawkeyes wear WHITE FACEMASKS! I mean, sure, any Hawkeye fan will know we've had some ugly uniforms in the past (like the wings on the shoulders under Coach Fry -- YUCK!) but the white facemasks take the cake when it comes to cringe-worthy. I want to know at what point someone on the development team said, "Hey, let's muck up Iowa's uniform for the second year in a row. We'll fix what was wrong last year, but screw something else up this year!" I know we're supposed to be constructive and civil with our feedback here, but that's really uncalled for, especially when teams like Oregon have umpteen perfectly-rendered presets. This issue is what drove me to trade the game in a week after I bought it. It might seem nitpicky but it just drove me nuts. So yeah... please fix it?

Dear EA Sports,
I didn't take the time to read through every issue everyone else posted. I don't know if you developers take a tally of whatever items received the most complaints to figure out what to fix, but I will try to present my issues in as constructive of a manner as possible.
Do you guys actually get people who buy NCAA to test the game before releasing it for sale? I think you definitely should if you don't because some of the errors in the gameplay are issues that I would like to think would be solved if a legitimate consumer tested them.
-My biggest beef is the release of the ball as a QB is getting hit. In the trailer previewing NCAA before it's release, one of the new features highlighted was that now you could throw out of a sack. This would make sense, since the avg college football game features maybe 4-5 sacks per side per game, while my QB hits the turf sometimes 10 times a game. In reality, throwing out of a sack is not mentioned anywhere in the control guide, and is basically impossible. If you are in the act of throwing when you are hit, you either don't throw at all or the ball mystically flies straight up in the air usually to be intercepted 9 times out of 10. For anyone that actually watches football or understands the mechanics of throwing a football, this would NEVER HAPPEN. A QB hit as he is throwing would definitely result in an incompletion and the ball would probably hit the ground somewhere in the vicinity of a receiver. It WOULD NOT float up in the air like a helium balloon. I get at least 2 INTs per game due to this flaw. This is the MOST MAJOR ISSUE that needs fixing. I can't believe that an actual NCAA fan would have tested this game and said, "Wow, that's really realistic."
-Another issue is the AI of the O-line and blocking in general. Too often, an offensive lineman will back up in his stance and let the D man run right by him, without even attempting a block. An O-lineman always engages someone in a block, even if they get beat. Which brings me to another point. A BLOCK never consists of a hefty shove and then letting that man go. You see this on kick returns in your game all the time. The blocker shoves the guy then runs past him, and usually the shovee recovers and makes the tackle. Ridiculous. Also, I know this isn't the NFl and therefore the skill level is less, but college lineman at least know basic assignments. They know to seal the edges on an outside run. They know top kick a D-End out wide to form a pocket on a pass. None of this is incorporated into this game.
-The sliders controlling gameplay need to be adjusted so that they work. As an experiment, I put my User AI pass protection at 100 to see if I would actually have 3 seconds to make a throw. Nope. Sacked, instantly on some plays. Meanwhile, the computer AI pass blocking set to 25 or 30, and their QB still has time to eat an entire Subway footlong before throwing the ball.
-Punt returning needs A LOT of work. When have you ever seen a punt return in a football game, whether it's college or pro, with 3 defenders running unblocked at the return man. Rarely if ever, and in those scattered instances the returner will call for a fair catch. But he won't be met with a horde of defenders on every single return. I think the problem in the programming is that the receiving team starts to try to block right on the line at the point of the kick, rather than dropping back with their return man, to set up a return. This is a problem that needs addressing.
-The AP and Coaches polls needs to have a little more weight in their adjustments. If a team starts the season ranked, even if that team is Ohio * or USC, and they go 0-2, they should be dropped from the rankings. If two teams are undefeated, and Team A has beaten no one of consequence, but Team B has beaten 2 other ranked opponents, in all likelihood Team B should be ranked higher than Team A. ESPECIALLY if Team B BEAT Team A. Wins aren't just wins. They should be weighted depending on the heft of the victory.
-In the real world, Freshman recruit kickers have strong kicking legs. I hate when my kicker graduates and then I get an incoming freshman who can't even kick off past the 25. And forget about 40 Yard field goals! If you want kickers to progress, they should have varying degrees of accuracy. Sure they can get stronger legs as they progress, but they shouldn't start at rock bottom.
-Many people have mentioned in before but there needs to be a Spring Game again. And I think some degree of a players progression should be based on their Spring Game performance. There should be position battles decided by the Spring Game. If your second string QB has a monster Spring Game, he should be rated high enough to be the starter in the opener. That's along the lines of the other features that were stripped from old versions. Formation subs need to come back. Off-season drills should come back.
I have several other reasonably small and nitpicky suggestions about presentation and the like, but those are more along the lines of "It would be cool to see..." GAMEPLAY GAMEPLAY GAMEPLAY is where it's at and where the franchise needs the most help. There is a reason why Madden is the most popular Sports video game ever. It has the gameplay locked in. NCAA has been too far behind for too long.
And I would gladly donate my time to test NCAA 2011 before it hits shelves to provide feedback. I would even buy my own plane ticket and work for free. In fact, I would relish the chance. I would consider it a service to my fellow NCAA players.

I just have an honest question. I have PS2 and PS3, I will always buy NCAA for PS2 and PS3. Knowing that the regular controls of PS2 will bether and hoping those controls will be added back to PS3. Is there a chance this happens or any patch for that. I have had both since they came out but only play PS3 three times due to frustration of the configuration.

I am playing on the 360 and I am the commissioner on my online dynasty. I am unable to change the skill level. Every time I change it it says the EA servers are unavailable and it never updates. I had it on a lower skill level so some guys could adjust and now we need to up it up a little. So what is the problem?
It is now 12/09/2009 and NO RESPONSE FROM EA....still waiting. The problem still exists.

I've owned every EA NCAA Football game and, to be honest, I'm extremely disappointed by this version. Here are my biggest issues:
1.) BLOCKING BLOCKING BLOCKING!!! The offensive blocking is non-existent. A block is missed on almost every single play whether it's the offensive line, or kick returns. Most of them aren't even any kind of move by the other team, it's just my team running into the other player and then letting them run around them, or just running past them altogether. I don't care how bad my player's skill level might be, they will at least make an effort to block or get slowed down. It makes runs up the middle next to impossible against upper tier opponents.
2.) Injurys: 10 - 15 injuries per game overall. It's rediculous, just turn them off because it's so bad I don't think you'll be able to get them right.
3.) Throwing the ball away: There are plenty of opportunities while the QB is being sacked to make a last ditch throw. The AI QB when on defense does it often.
4.) Kick Returns: Kick returners on both sides can easily get to the 30-35 on every return unless it's kicked deep enough to down. Even if the AI fakes a knee they still get 30 - 35 yards because the kick defense squad doesn't collapse around the ball carrier. I'm lucky to get 3 guys on the kick returner by the time he's at the 30.
5.) Swatting: It's nearly impossible to swat the ball on passes unless you are immediately in front of the receiver.
6.) Control Switching: Switching to players is erratic. Most of the time the player that is switched to is the closest to the ball and not the receiver. It makes it very difficult to predict which player I'm about to control.
7.) Overall Defensive AI: Horrible horrible defensive AI. I once watched on of my OLBs, that had a clear path to the QB and was not guarding a receiver run back and forth in place until I had to take control of him. In general players stand in one spot and have very little intelligence around adjusting based on the play.
It would be nice if there was a fast gameplay option. I really don't care about the animations between plays and after scores. It would be nice if I could just go right into the next play every single play. If I need time between I can pause the game. Going as fast as I can, 5 minute quarters make the game about an hour long. Too long for 20 minutes of gameplay.
I would recommend add NO new features with 2011 and working on gameplay 100%. There is a lot that needs to be worked on.
