Had several *.cab file errors to include sound, object, etc. Did all troubleshooting suggested by moderator, no luck, nothing, same errors repeatedly. Finally got it to install on WinXP Pro SP2 on different computer. Copied DVD-ROM contents to SanDisk Cruzer Micro 8GB (using the U3 technology helped) and installed on my WinXP Pro SP2, xFx 680i LT MoBo, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2GHz CPU, Crucial Ballistic 4GB RAM, and 512MB Nvidia GeForce 8600GT with no problems. I think the error lies in the R/RW/ROM drive you use. I have a Plextor PX-740A (all updated firmware/drivers) and kept getting same errors, until I installed from my thumb drive. I was about to update BIOS, until I tried this and it finally worked. Hope this helps and works for someone else. Good luck!

I wanted to get the next Crysis but I won't be doing that now. Upgraded the motherboard, cpu and ram on my system and now Crysis will not install. Get an error 1335 message. Have had the game to long to try and return it for another copy. If EA can't solve this problem then I would be crazy to buy the next release since I might face the same problem and know there will be no solution to fix it once again.

Based on what I had read in this thread....I decided to install with my NEC DVD-ROM instead of my Lite-on DVD-RW. (Funny thing is just the other day I was wondering why I needed two dvd drives as I rarely use my computer as a copy machine).
Anyway, I turned off my antivirus software, opened the task manager, ran the .exe from the disk, watched for duplicate installs running (found and ended the process) and was able to install without any issues on the 1st go around, patched 1.2 and played!
Thanks to all that posted, it was great preventative medicine....
Happy to run Crysis 64 bit!
Specs
AMD X2 4200+ 2.2Ghz overclocked to 2.5Ghz
4 Gigs Corsair XMS
EVGA 512mb 8800GT Superclocked Edition
Creative X-Fi Platinum
2/250 gig Seagate Barracudas Raid 0
Vista Ultimate SP1 64 Bit

This has been driving me crazy ever since I went to Vista (Crysis and other games had the same type of CAB error problems on install).
Got so bad I setup Dual Boot with XP just to play this game. Thank you, THANK YOU for the suggestion to change the file association for CAB files back to C:\windows\explorer.exe (mine was set to open with WinZip). PROBLEM SOLVED!!! Thanks Again (and how did you ever figure out to try that???).

hi, i first got problem with the "cd key launch" ,copying all files and running setup.exe solved that, but sounds~1.cab, suppor~1.cab support.cab cannot be copied to hdd so obviously installation failed, i tried every solution on net but did'nt get it work, however i tried to copy files on my mates computer via LAN only sounds~1.cab is copied.
However i am able to open cab files on dvd and only sounds~1.cab shows files inside ie sounds.pak but other two shows no files inside, but in thier properties they show 2.xx mb and 3.xx kb.
So the other two files are actually corrupt or are just not readable.
Can ny humble person upload these 2 files for me.
thanx in advance

OK I will try to post again , does anyone have a recent solution regarding installing crysis download version on windows 7, im getting the dreaded 1335 sounds cab file corrupt message, no response to my email, my chat session got cancelled, at the last minute of a 1 hr wait, any help would be good at this point. im not seeing any recent post on this. has someone found an answer or am the only recent victim to this software issue.? PS I have redownloaded 2 times with the same results. the file size is 2 files and 2 folders larger than the posted file size suggested on these forems.

Error 1335 and then 2350 along with that are Windows problems.
I had a similar problem. I had to download/reinstall the newest Windows Installer and then the EA game installed properly. Other people have had Windows memory management problems, or sometimes Firewall/security setting issues.

Whee! I finally got to install my Crysis 1. I downloaded the game from Amazon and it kept having the 1335 error regarding Object~1.cab during installation. If you have the disc you have to copy that file into your computer.
Here's how I fixed mine;
Operating System: Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit
1) Manually create an install destination folder for Crysis
(eg I used custom install to C:\\Games\Crysis. I recommend using custom install to determine the install destination)
2) Make a folder named 'Game' under that folder
(so now theres C:\\Games\Crysis\Game)
3) Open Object~1.cab through Windows Explorer and you will see object.pak. Copy that file into the 'Game' folder
4) Install Crysis. Make sure it installs on that main Crysis folder you created.
The installer will bypass the .cab file since you already manually extracted the file
Let me know if this helps! (maybe I was just lucky). Good luck!
-- UPDATE --
I ran the game for the first time. I was confused as hell when I started the mission and everything was invisible! I thought oh maybe the plane and characters were just cloaked. Nope! My objects~1.cab was indeed corrupt and thats why I didnt see any object in the game. I redownloaded the game from Amazon and did a Repair install. Everything works fine now. Btw, don't delete your first download files just in case the redownloaded files have errors. The first download may have error-free files, so just copy paste and replace the broken ones on the new download.
