Tutorial: How to make a crew topic

I've seen a lot of people making new topics in the "Racing Crews" subforum. There are still a few that need a bit of help making a useful crew topic. That's why I made this tutorial.

The first post = IMPORTANT

Having an organised first post in your crew topic helps with attracting new members.
People tend to leave crews alone that seem to be made in a hurry.
Using colors is helpful to keep the attention to your post. Don't use too many colors ofcourse.

A few points that you should/could include in your first post:

1. A quick welcome and a bit about the crew

This should be short, if this is too long, people will get bored and quickly lose interest in your post.

2. Website/Ventrilo/TeamSpeak info

Having a website could help with convincing people to join your crew.
Having Ventrilo or TeamSpeak shows your crew will exist for at least a long while. Being able to talk to your members is also nice ofcourse.

3. Rules

Be clear when you post your rules.

Rules could include:

- Car limitations ( Tier 2 required e.g.)
- Activity in-game
- Language(s)
- ... (make your own rules )

4. Memberlist

This is all personal taste, either just list the members or organize this into subcategories (Leaders/Members/Trial Members/...), your choice.

5. Recruitment info

List the requirements to join the crew clearly.

It may be best to put an example of an application form in the recruitment section.
If you don't want to see your crew topic cluttered with that, let them apply via email or your website.

An example could look like this:

- Driver name:
- Age:
- Current level:
- Extra info:

Lay-out

- If you're creative you could make your crew stand out more by adding a banner (image on the top of the first post). But make sure it looks nice, ugly banners will scare people off.
- Make sure you have enough spaces between paragraphs, but not too many.
- Check your spelling!!!

Act like a leader

- If you're short on members, don't force your crew onto people. It makes you seem desperate.
- Try to race a lot and ask people that you have seen before if they're looking for a crew...
- Spamming the chat with info on your crew won't make you popular.
- KEEP YOUR TOPIC ALIVE!

Because I've seen too many crew topics lately with absolutely no info in them, I decided to bump this thread.
This should help starting crew leaders a bit.

This would be as example of a bad example, right?
There isn't a lot of info, no colors, no pics.

A truly bad example indeed, especially if he puts it in THIS topic. That is NOT the point of this topic.

same thing here. it is showing all the coding. No BBCODE pictures and the fonts attached with [b/] these codes. although in the preview of that post it was showing proper fonts and pictures. What is this man? EA moderators or anyone help on this matter?

Look above. Quote code should have made that msg in a box. and it is showing codes. i am talking about this :-

I enabled HTML and BB Code on the message above.

I'm pretty sure PREVIEW and EDIT are the "no no buttons" you should not use.
