Need help please i don't seem to be able to purchase any thing LIKE equipment or clothes don't have the x button to get in got only the triangle how do i buy stuff?

I'm having the same problems myself. I was finally able to purchase a different driver the other day, but so far nothing else. I believe that one must accumulate a certain amount of cash first, or maybe its points, before anything becomes available. I don't understand why I can play some single round matches under pga tour and not any multi round matches. I don't want to skip either and not be able to go back later. Frustating, especially with that joke of a manual supplied with the game.

In order to buy things you have to unlock them by filling up your XP bar by Making great shots! "holes in one, eagles, birdies" by filling up your XP bar you also build up your stats too.

o.k. Everytime the game tells me that my xp level has gone up, I go directly to the proshop and still nothing is available.

GO to the shop change VIEWING over to EQUIPMENT just remember that you need money to buy the new equipment keep in mind that you start out with all EA sports EQUIPMENTand unless you CHEAT by using the passwords it will take you some time to unlock better EQUIPMENT

I've got over $2 million dollars to use and can't seem to be able to use it. I'm beginning to wonder if there is a problem with the game, or is there something else I'm not doing right.

Heres a accurate diagram of what you should see

VIEWING < CLOTHING> Change < CLOTHING> to <EQUIPMENT>

VIEWING will now change to EQUIPMENT and under <EQUIPMENT> you should see a <DRIVER> if you scroll to left to right you will notice that <DRIVER> changes int WOOD, IRONs, WEDGES, PUTTER ect.

right under that you should find another scrolling section marked <OWNED> and <FOR SALE> IF its on <OWNED> its yours ift its on <FOR SALE> you can buy new clubs and sell your old clubs. remember that the club you are currently using will have a GREEN check mark next to it.

Under that you should see BRAND . on that line you can either change between <ALL> and <SPONSERSHIPS> like <EA SPORTS> the more things you have unlocked the more different sponserships you will have to scroll through. and at the very bottom of it all you should see actuall clubs/ IF you have it on <ALL> you will see all the clubs that you can buy. If you change it too say <EA SPORTS> you will only be able to see EA SPORTS equipment. it can get complicated but you will figure it out hope this helps

I did exactly as you said. Went to pro shop. Under VIEWING, I changed it to EQUIPMENT. Went down to DRIVERS. Went through all of the drivers and was unable to do anything at all. Went through each section under EQUIPMENT, changed from OWNED/FREE to FOR SALE I changed everything I could possibly change and did everything you suggested and still cannot buy anything. Like I said before, I also have over $3 million dollars, 19 handicap (don't know wether that's good or bad; know nothing about golf) and have placed 1st (witha commanding lead) in the 4 tourneys that I've played so far. This why I think that there is either something wrong with my game or with my character. I was able, once, to buy a different driver with a different character, but something happened to that character (can no longer find it) and created the one I'm using now. Thinking about creating yet a new character and trying again. Do you have any other suggestions?

Sorry you may have a deffective game, other than that dont know what to tell you to do? check the game disk itself any scratches, fingerprints? I had to start all over once since i got TW09 because we lost power one night and the game got screwed up. had to go back and erase the game off the memory card ( My stats were at 95 and i had just won the first tourny with a 14- par, Man was i PISSED) that was a month ago and im just getting my stats back up again. Yea erase everything and start over and see what happens? little piece of advice if you want to get your character stats up a little quicker turn your wind strength down from 20 to about 4.

I was having a senior moment (no offense to anyone). I figured it out. One thing I don't understand. When I first looked in the pro shop, I went down and looked at all of the individual club manufacturers and I could have sworn I saw Taylormade, Ping and a couple of others that aren't there anymore. Has that happened to you? By the way, where in the heck did you find an option to turn the wind down? I haven't seen anything like that anywhere.

glad you got it figured out, now to get to wind strenght.
1. go in to game face, then go in to options, then go in to difficulty, then go in to enviroment and you should see wind strength at 20

Did you catch my question about the club manufacturers. I could have sworn I saw Taylormade, Ping and others in the individual manufacturers, but they aren't there when you switch to "All" manufacturers

it seemed like the golf manifactures were pretty skimpy this time around. the well know companys didnt give much to choose from and the lesser know ompanys had to many to choose from

It took me over an hour to figure the way to work in the equipment, clothing, person adjustment areas. It is very badly laid out but you can buy as you have cash for. I have only just begun playing, have only reached $5,000 and have purchased new fairway woods and shirts, glasses, etc. It is hard to navigate but once you get it, it is pretty straight forward.
