Tried all of the above. PB update did nothing, and the clearing of lines in the game settings needs to be done before starting the game, every time. It's a temporary solution.
Any other ideas that haven't already been suggested?

Go to "your documents">bfbc2 folder> gamesettings.ini ...in there you want to deleat everything after the heading
"RecentGames="
then you want to deleat everything after "FavoriteGames="
then last but not least, everthing after "ServerFilterSettings="
also after you do this , you have to go to" file" and hit 'save"

all these should be towards the bottom, and it has fixed mine ...I have no problems now... your welcome

Thanks , the above instructions fixed mine and my brothers problem with the no connect message and no connect to server(s) problem . Hope it stays this way on my next pc reboot (it should) !

*edit , so far the deleted settings have stayed for me even after rebooting , etc .

This from EA Customer Support today when I contacted them:

"ME: Any word on a fix?

EA: Yes the team is working on it.

ME: Any word as there has been no official posting on the forums.

EA: Hope fully as soon as possible"

Fingers crossed (hopefully it's not just a stock standard response), as the deletion of those lines must be done every time before I start to play.

I just tried deleting the servers in the Gamesettings.ini file....... still no luck. Still 'connection lost'. This is B*** S*** Dice and EA. Get a fix and send it down-line!

I'm having this problem as well. Have tried all the aforementioned fixes with no joy. The only fix that works for me is deleting the entire BC2 folder from My Documents. This sucks as I have to rebind keys, rebuild kits, etc.. every time. I'd do an uninstall and reinstall but I have only a few of install authorizations left. Don't really want to burn another.

I find by doing this and making a copy of it and then saving the copy outside the BFBC2 folder, all I need to do is copy and paste this into the folder prior to starting up the game (you will overwrite your Game Settings, but it's better than having to manually do it every time).
When you get to Server Browser do not check any of the filters. I know it's a bugger having to have all the servers listed but for me it's the only way I can connect.
You don't have to delete your entire folder.
Hopefully Dice can spare some time to fix this, as it probably has something to do with EA getting all set for "BF3". Don't hold your breath, though...

i have read this bunch of posts and many other similar ones in the past week.

for around the past week i have been getting the following things happen:

- error when i try to join a server i get an error message "cannot connect to server, please check your connection and try again"....

- the above happens everytime on busy servers.
-log out and log in again i can see those same servers but now they appear as empty! i can join these servers quickly with no errors.
- log out and log back in. if busy i get error trying to join, if empty i can join quickly.
-i have completely gone through all reinstalls of PB, BFBC2 (chose NO to PB client at time of last nights install), deleted game files etc under 'my documents'.
-checked firewall,
-still exactly the same problem.

i spoke to EA tonight & explained everything i did and explained the problems many are having & that has been going on with this.

they said that their servers are up and down recently and all will be well once they are sorted out. "You have done all the necessary steps to resolve the connection issue, it is that our servers have been up and down lately. Once we get them stabilized this will resolve your connection issue. "

i explained that they need to make a public announcment as we are all spending lots of time troubleshooting this connection issue and bad server scanning issues to try to get playing again. they acknowledged and said they would pass it on.

at least now i know i do not have to keep wasting my time trying to sort it out myself.

I tried the solutions editing game settings and such, but they worked once and then things were broken again.

However based upon those ideas, and an assumption on what is happening I believe I found the fix. This appears to all stem from the 'Invalid Clan' crap that started coming up after the last patch. It looks like EA tried to fix that and screwed up royally.

So what is working for me, was to just set a clan tag.

So just logout, login and when it asks for a clan tag put in something like 'EASUX' and you should be good to go.

I´ve been in contact with the customer support 3 times in a week now. I had the problem with no connection to servers even though the login to profile works perfectly. the first one i spoke to told me to delete the content in the temp folder. This solved the issue with the connectivity to servers. One problem still remained and that was i had to delete the temp folder content every single time i closed the game and started it again in order to play online.

I reported this problem to a second person at support and the respond i got was that i should try running the game in compatibility mode. Said and done but the problem still haunted me. The third one at support couldn´t help me be she told me they knew there was a conectivity issue for the game.

Now i have another problem. I can´t see any servers. Got kicked out from the game a couple of min ago and now i can´t find any servers
