I didn't read through this entire thread so if this link was posted, I apologize:
http://rjdown.co.uk/projects/bfbc2/fovcalculator.php
My 23" monitor's native resolution is 1920x1080, using this calculator, my FOV is 59.

thats if you only want 90 degrees of view, think most are going for 110 - 120.

I use 55 on a 23" 1920 x 1080p monitor. 55, is standard. I find that the higher fov makes distant targets too small.

Thats what I've read is the highest you want to go b4 it starts looking funky.2 bad you can't make the fov wider I always played games at 120 when possible.

If I'm not mistaken, the standard FoV for FPS was 90. So 59 would be correct for your resolution. But I guess thats subjective, some people like wider views. I do know that MW2 has a really low FoV, like 45-60 something like that.
btw, wasnt this thread stickied..?

So still no fov fix for single player then?
Has any really solid reason for having such a rediculasly narrow fov in the first place been put forward? Surely the standard horizontal 90 degrees is a standard for a reason... i know i can't play the single player for more than about 20 mins before i start getting a mild headache - why ruin the best title of it's ilk with an unchangeable fov?

From this GIF it appears that all FOV does is makes the targer farther away so u can see more on the side...Watch the bridge in the animated GIF with each setting it just gets farther and farther away. This is no helpful at all.

I REALLY want to play the single player but since for some reason it can't stay changed I still haven't played it through because it gives me a headache.

Yeah I *kinda* agree. I have mine set to 80 right now, and I like the addititional vision on the sides, but I do find that having targets farther away is somewhat of a disadvantage. I think I will back mine down to 70 and it should be a good compromise.
I am using a 26" monitor, playing at 1920x1200 resolution.
