The Mini Games that players do at the All-Star skills competition are already in the game, so why not create an actual All-Star weekend?
Related to that: Can we skip the All-Star game every 4 years to play in the Olympic tournament with teams constructed from players in the BAGM mode?
Have real info for the seasons in other leagues (Be able to look over standings, stats, and progression for the Major Junior leagues, KHL, NCAA (if it is included).
And this may be too big of a task for such a little touch, but what if every season in BAGM had a Winter Classic?
I figure this could be done by creating 4 or 5 generic looking outdoor stadiums. Create graphics for each year to change in as appropriate (kind of like Madden does with Super Bowls). Give us the option at the beginning of each season to pick a matchup which can just be selected from a list of games the schedule sets to happen around Jan 1st. If we want to play the game, then send us to a jersey editor to create the new unis.
Is this possible?
My biggest wish is that ea Canada would scrap their current game and start from the ground up(like NBA Live) because I feel….scratch that I know that they’re just phoning it in each year just like madden. But I digress, let me just post my one of my wishes.
Retro/Alternate Jerseys
Before I started playing the NHL series on the PS3(11 and 12), I was playing NHL 09 on the PS2. What I noticed when I started playing the PS3 versions was the lack of certain jerseys for some of the teams.
Here are all the different jerseys that are in the 09 version of the game(PS2 to remind you) that are nowhere to be found in the current installments.
http://postimage.org/image/lxt92gudd/
Now I probably missed a few but the point I’m trying to make is that if the effort of putting these jerseys into to the game is there, especially on the PS2, then it should be there on the PS3. To me, jerseys no matter how well liked/disliked represent a part of a teams’ history and should be represented in the game.
Now the way I see it, when picking jerseys, especially a team with a couple of jersey changes in its history. The ones that should be chosen are jerseys that where there is significant change from one set to another. For example lets take a look at a few
Penguins
http://www.nhluniforms.com/Penguins/Penguins.html The jerseys that should be on the selection screen are
1967-68, 1968-70, 1973-74, 1977-80, 1981-83, 1995-97,2002-07(pre Reebok), Current, Winter Classics,
Rangers
http://www.nhluniforms.com/Rangers/Rangers.html The jerseys that should be on the selection screen are
1927,28, 1929-34, 1942, 1946-47, 1963-70, 1977-78, 1978-87, 1990-96, 1997-07(pre Reebok), White and Navy Liberty jerseys, Current, Winter Classic
Bruins
www.nhluniforms.com/Bruins/Bruins.html
The jerseys that should be on the selection screen are
1924-25, 1926-31, 1934-36, 1940-44, 1948-49, 1955-57, 1969-74, 1981-95, 1995-06(pre Reebok), Current , Winter Classic
Again there is a significant change between each set.
Some other things to consider or fix for the next installment
-The Hurricanes should have the blue Hartford Whalers jersey
-The Jets should have the Thrashers jerseys and not their old jerseys since the history of the old Jets belongs to the Phoenix Coyotes and not the new Jets
-the Rangers third is a very dark Navy Blue, the current color is incorrect
I’ll write some other stuff I want to see in NHL 13 later
1 Better battles for pucks.
All to often it is a big check to knock someone off the puck. I would like to see smaller hits and and weaker puck control. Currently it is a very clear cut either he has it or I have it. It would create much more realistic play like the body positioning battle in front of the net did this year. Basically have body positioning all over the ice and lots of stick work.
2 Line / Player Match Ups
Being able to match up a line or certain personnel during the game through pause menu. For example, sticking Pronger against the other teams top line so that he will automatically go on the ice if they change lines during a stoppage. This would add some strategy to the game that is seen at the pro level, also you would have to try to get your stars out against different players to create more offense.
3 Role Players
Much like the older Madden had involving shut down defenseman, your top snipers or passers and energy players. Big hits from that player will spark life into the teams play and your shutdown defenseman actually plays like one with lots of physical play and blocked shots. It would add some flavor and uniqueness to each team instead of all them being able to be played the same way successfully.
Make it a hockey players game, stop the arcade nonsense.

Well I am going to guess you asked for pink ponies to skate down the ice on and players chewing mouth guards. All this is stupid nonsense that doesn't effect the gameplay at all. You can produce the same game every year with your two new gadgets or you can focus on the gameplay... the part of the game that actually matters. I can tell you don't play hockey but you enjoy playing shootout and doing 720's picking the puck up with your teeth and then hitting it out of mid air. However, you are entitled to your opinion so I have to honor that you have one.
Basically what I am saying is you are allowing EA to give you the same game with a new cover and still charging you $60. If you enjoy that... so be it, but that just doesn't seem very logical to me. Until they master the gameplay I think that should be the real focus.

- Lower puck control
- Lower balance
- Reward players for playing real hockey (dump and chase, good positioning, trying to hold the puck in at the line, etc.)
- Punish players for playing garbage hockey (figure skating, puck hogging, cherry-picking, calling for passes from 80 feet away, etc.)
- Lower shot accuracy (especially on 1-timers)
- Looser puck around the net (not auto-suck into goaltender or AI defenseman); more rebound and dirty goals
- Greater screen effect on goaltenders
I think the key to a blockbuster video game is online play in todays market. we love playing eashl,so my suggestions are for EASHL.
1)Match my region option... takes us an hour to get a game...
2)Don't show stats while game is loading, people always quit. in real hockey you gotta play both good and bad teams...
3)this is a stretch i know, make it so 8 can join a game and have line changes(not a big deal)
4)during game show past record against team you are playing
5)maybe have like a free agent search for people looking for teams, lots of otp players want clubs but cant get them.
6)maybe other options like tournaments or something for your team to play in during season
7)have unlocks for your team like jersey options or arena options
make practice better, should be able to go into practice with 1 person, and have someone else get on and join in progress... no time limit, more than one puck

some "off puck" logic would B gr8 too. Like here, CPU pushes my teammate to offside position, very cool, isnt it?

I would love to see a PC Version of NHL 13. With this new Origin System maybe it is more profitable now to release on the Computer. FIFA did this as well and the PC is more powerful than any home console.
It´s been five years since the last NHL came to the PC. a simple porting from the ps3/360 would be enough.
This won´t happen anyway
edit: Careermilestones for BAP would also be very cool like in NBA 2k12 like when you reached the 10 goalmark in your career you get a amount of EXP.

Maybe suspensions, seems to be a major topic this season. I agree with the communication (gm mode) with coaches of NHL and AHL daily. With all of the concussions these days it seems like the NHL is leaning on their farm systems more than ever.
NHL 13 Wish list
GM mode improvement
1. Better Goalie Injuries
2. As Long as a created player’s overall is under 75 and age under 22 he should still be a rookie
3. Better trading (player trade value should increase or decrease depending on stats). (other General Managers should help make a trade work)
4. You can retire player jersey numbers
5. Goalies can be captains
6. Created player image
7. Draft for the All-star Game
8. Winter Classic
9. IIHF world Juniors
10. Create GM avatar
11. Hire Coaches
12. Player suspensions
13. Playoff Beards and mustache month
14. Better contract negotiation
BAP Improvements
1. Request Trade
2. In game line changes (could start on the third line but end up on the second line)
3. Have the announcer say your name and not just your number
4. Better CAS options (more hair/facial hair styles)(Goalie Custom Helmets)
It would be nice if a club member either gets on late, or gets kicked out of game, to be able to go into locker room and be able to watch the game in progress. Better than sitting there twirling your thumbs.
When the human goalie either goes to the bench for a penalty or for an empty net that the human can control the extra skater.
Be able to have a customized goalie mask; color zones 1-9 like the pads, add team logo and place it where you want it to go.
Have the AI defense, offense, and goalie "learn" better. Example is the AI goalie; if he gets scored on by a particular move, he remembers that and if that play is happening again, he can adjust to it. May be able to help protect the team against glitchers if they are doing the same thing over and over.
Better physics engine on the hits.
For computer goalie to stop passing the puck out when no one called for it, or at least have it adjustable.
If you are playing "match goalie" and the other team drops their human goalie, to add points to the team that still has the goalie for club ranking (or deduct points, win or loss, to the other team), or something to penalize them.
GM Mode -Being able to hire and fire team staff(coaches, mangers, etc)
-Promoting team staff members from the ahl staff and nhl staff
-Renewing and signing new affiliations (like ahl and echl teams)
-Signing players to Tryout Contracts
-Add All-star draft, all-star competition, and all-star game
Season Mode - Add All-star draft, all-star competition, and all-star game
- Custom Divisons(allow users to switch teams and move them around the league into different divisons)
- Choose leagues(allows users to choose to between a season in the nhl, ahl, or other leagues)
Be A PRO mode -A little more puck passing from the cpu players
-Add All-star draft, all-star competition, and all-star game
-Add pre-game warm-up to the games (where you are practicing with your team passing the pucks, and trying to take turns shoot for 5 mins)
Other General ideas for the Game -Create Teams for AHL
-When creating teams allow users to customize the arena with the team's logo in the the center of ice and name the arena
-Add a pre-game warm-up mode (where you are practicing with your team passing the pucks, and trying to take turns shoot for 5 mins)
- When creating teams and players set limit to no limit - Add the ECHL Teams to Team list
- Add a all-star competition and all-star game mode
- Add a affiliations page with the ahl teams on and allow users to change the list to put ahl teams with nhl teams(they like to see)(Note: The reason for this will be to let users use this list when starting a season, pro mode, or gm mode. So, theyh can start with the ahl they want to be with)

I agree with all of those ideas minus #2. This next quote was taken directly from nhl.com: To be considered a rookie, a player must not have played in more than 25 NHL games in any preceding seasons, nor in six or more NHL games in each of any two preceding seasons. Any player at least 26 years of age (by September 15th of that season) is not considered a rookie. Just explaining why #2 won't be put in the game.
Better, more in-depth Be A GM. It hasn't had a big update since like 09 when it added RFAs.
- Internal budgets/salary caps for teams like Florida, Phoenix.
- Hire/fire coaches
- All-Star game Fantasy Draft (Its currently still East vs West)
- All-Star weekend mini-games
- TRADE DEADLINE OVERHAUL. Pending FAs should often be traded from non-contending teams to contending teams. My trade deadlines generally pass with only 2-5 trades outside of my team.
- So much more to be implemented in Be A GM. The mode has such potential.
